- Hi friends, today I am going to review the new Chanel summer 2024 makeup collection. Chanel just released their new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed powders. I ordered two of the new oversized Chanel powders in Light Coral and Medium Coral. I also purchased three of the new Chanel Ombre Essentielle multi-use longwearing eyeshadows. I have always love the formula of Chanel’s mono eyeshadows and I was excited to try the new formula and to share with you my review. I also tried the new Chanel Les exclusifs de Chanel Comete Eau de Parfum. This new Comete fragrance was created by Olivier Polge and has notes of Cherry Blossom, Iris, heliptrope, musks and aldehydes.
In the end of this video I will share with you my honest opinion about the latest changes in Chanel makeup and how the clean beauty trends are affecting Chanel beauty.

I bought the Clarins limited edition summer bronzer with 3 different bronzing shades. No blush but goodness knows I have many blushes of my own to use up. It’s lovely and is very good quality. I would buy Chanel makeup a lot but not happy with the “clean beauty” direction of travel. Preservatives are in makeup for very good reasons - not least to ensure the product remains safe to use.
Clarins is a much underrated brand.

I also want the Clarins bronzer! :) Thank you for mentioning it. Now I want it even more. I even made a post about it a week ago. It's still not available here and sadly Selfridges didn't want to deliver this item in particular which is sad. I agree Clarins is a very underrated brand. They have some very good products.
I really like Clarins SPF 50 P++++. For me, it melts into the skin without leaving a white cast & performs well under foundation. I've purchased 3 bottles in the past year! I do think Clarins has some great products! 😊
@@Frenchforaday it’s a lovely bronzer and is definitely one is more natural and subtle but that can also be built up. It’s almost half the price of the Chanel LB. Does Clarins have an Italian website? We have a U.K. Clarins website where the bronzer is available to purchase.
The compact is gorgeous and I like its slimline shape too. Clarins do great products. I like their micellar water which removes eye makeup very well without any irritation. Their firming night cream is another favourite. And Clarins are very generous with their GWP offers - I got 5 very decent sized free products including 2x 30ml moisturisers with my last purchase.

I have to disagree on Comète. I have almost all the Chanel fragrances, and I do not find their fragrances to be dated at all. If you look at the other fragrance houses, they keep discontinuing fragrances only after a few years. Chanel doesn’t do that because their fragrances are timeless and beautiful. I don’t want the house to chase trends, and this feels like that. Jumping on the cherry trend annoys me, and there are better fragrances that are longer lasting that smell similar. I know some people love this, but as someone who has a lot of fragrances, this is an easy pass for me.
Also Chanel raising their prices every few months in Asia is turning me off the brand. I’m no longer buying their makeup or skincare since it’ll just go bad before I use it up. I’ll only repurchase the fragrances when I run out. I just hope Chanel didn’t mess with their fragrance formulas since their fragrances usually don’t go off easily like some other brands.
Hello, I love the Les Exclusifs line from Chanel. I mentioned that other people think it's dated. For me- I have always been a fan of Chanel's perfumes. My only regret for the Les exclusifs line is that they don't have smaller size bottles. I always prefer 30 and 50 ml over 75 and 200ml. About the new Come'te fragrance: this is actually the first very elegant and sophisticated cherry. I think it's worth trying the fragrance when you go to a Chanel store. They kept the Chanel DNA which is impressive and it has something to do with Beige in the dry down. Thank you for watching and have a great day!

Not buying Comete. For that price it needs to last much longer. I mean there was a time when Chanel was the only one of few making great fragrances, but now there are so so many fragrances that last 8+ hours. Chanel must work harder to make their products more competitive with the numerous other brands.

I am blown away. Your honesty makes your channel truly valuable for all of us. I have the new Comete perfume and I couldn't agree more with your review. It's gorgeous and modern but it fades so quickly. I like your description: skin scent. This perfume is divine but sits close to the skin and performs best on clothes and when sprayed in hair. I also agree about the Les Beiges powders. I have medium coral and I really like it bit as you said: the quality is average. I will buy the light coral because I have similar skin tone like you and I love the way it looks on your skin. You have the best videos. 💖🌸

I removed hard pan from Les Beiges powder with a sticky tape and now it works fine.
Hi Angela😊 u r spot on about the marketing ploy of CHANEL trying to make us think we r getting so much product for the raised prices but then the expiration date is ridiculously early. I miss the sophistication of the regular size compacts, I don’t want to feel like jumbo drugstore? I love a good mono shadow, one and done. Talpa is a favorite. Of course there’s hope! We made it thru the RED eyeshadow phase, sorry Luca Picca. 😅😂. Let’s hope mediocrity won’t take over and our voices will be heard. ❤

I purchased the medium rose gold and it is pretty to look at and the concept is good, however the product itself is not special considering the price.I love Chanel but have become more selective.
It's not the makeup customer pushing brands for clean beauty. The EU has banned ingredients, and the cosmetic companies are forced to reformulate. If people don't like powders now, they are full of corn starch, rice powder and baking soda instead of talc. The good news is we can go to the grocery store ns buy a box of corn starch to set our makeup. 🙄

The good news is I'm using my old/UNgrenn makeup since I'm not buying these "reformulations".

Excellent reviews Angela, thank you. I am going to pass on most of these products. The single eyeshadows are £36 in 🇬🇧, which is a big uplift in price. I've really enjoyed using Chanel makeup over the years, but I think that after these latest price increases I will be looking more at other brands with lower price points. And don't get me started on 'clean' beauty. I do not want to buy beauty products only to have to keep them all in a fridge (or whatever) to preserve them or watch them go off after a few months. Plenty brands will be making a lot of extra money out of 'clean' beauty 😏

Everything in life is getting expensive here food petrol etc I only buy what I need now I prefer to look more natural I'm 48 I only wear eyebrow pencil eyeshadow mascara blush lipstick and foundation I just cannot get into bronzer or contouring. I do enjoy your reviewa and get on here when I can

This is probably the first very elegant and sophisticated cherry scent, If you like cherry slightly powdery scent, you will probably like this one. I find it to be easy to wear and suitable for all seasons which is great.

Hi Angela. Don’t plan to get the blush/ bronzer/ highlight palette. To pricey. End I have to many. I did get five of the single shadows and am using them sometimes mix with colors from other palettes. If I decide to get the large face palette it would be the Light coral. Must say it is very practical for travel. Hope your week wil be a nice and happy one. 🥰🥰🥰😊

My light coral came cracked and already has hard pan but I experienced that before with the regular Les Beiges face powders. The medium rose gold which did not arrive cracked is perfect- no hard pan. So 🤷♀️. I really like single shadows these days. They’re so easy to use. I got 3 colors also, Jade, Gris, and Lilac. I didn’t like Cometes too much but I do like skin scents

Thanks for comparing the light and medium coral face palettes, Angela! I purchased the medium coral palette from the US Chanel website, along with the new Chanel eyeshadow singles in Jade Facette and Blanc Perle. The light coral palette was already out of stock. When it became available on Macy’s website, I ordered it online. The light coral palette appears to be more subtle and neutral, whereas the medium coral is more vibrant and warm. I think both palettes are beautiful.

Wonderful review!! ❤ I agree! I honestly don't mind some preservatives in my cosmetics and even talc, when processed correctly and in places with high standards for production, doesn't worry me.

I did buy 9 of the new single eye shadows (including the topper shade) and I bought the Light and Medium Coral from the Le Beige powders. They are beautiful and I love them, but Chanel can do better! The eye-shadows are now better for me. I have two old one and I was very disappointed, because the colors did not hold very long on my eyelids. I thought too expensive for such a result. I was so impressed by the mermaid collection, that I wanted to give Chanel another chance. And I am really glad, because the new formulation is not so powdery and it holds very long on my eyelids. The colors look gorgeous the whole day. I do not know why, but now it fits very much better. I bought now the lilac one and have the same experience.

The colour of Brun Talpa is different than the old Talpa. It’s lighter and maybe also a bit shinier. I love the new version!

Rgding Comète: I dont smell cherry nor cherry blossoms, which do not smell at all. But the Irisand the Heliotrope are gogrgeous. With some Violets and Musks in the dryout. I love it.

You did a good review Angela and so honest I got a sample of the 2N Dior forever glow foundation was to dark for me orangey and was dry despite using good skincare I'm' thinking of trying the Sublime liquid in B10 *sigh* must be one that can suits my very dry skin my concern is I don't wear foundation every day Im a carer only wear makeup when I go out so how often will I have to repurchase Beautiful week to you x

Brilliant review! 🙂 I couldn’t agree more with everything you said in this post. I think with this “clean” beauty trend the brands will not gain more money because people will become very selective after many of them will have bad experiences with the makeup and will post comments about it.
I use to be a big Dior makeup lover but after they change the formula I just bought one eyeshadow palette (from holiday limited edition collection last year) and so far no issues with it. Generally speaking I am super selective now and I prefer to use what I already have and buy something new only if wowed me with the exceptional quality and amazing but wearable colour story. I am referring to eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks and lip balms because powder, mascara, eye brow pencil, eyeliner, foundation and concealer I have one at a time and just replace them when they are finished.

Hi Angela ! Thank you for reviewing Chanel’s new face trios and mono eyeshadows. I think Chanel could have done better with the face trios - the powders seem to simply rest on top of the skin. The result is unnatural and unflattering. The new mono eyeshadows are, as you stated, dry and powdery. Having purchased several shades in all three finishes, my experience is that the shadows lack longevity compared to the original monos. Thank you for also sharing your honest opinion about Chanel’s new fragrance. My personal recommendation would be to pass on the entire collection because it is not worthy of the Chanel brand name. I hope the fall collection will be better.

I would b more concerned wearing clean makeup than makeup with preservatives, im sure if u cant c the mold but its on its way 2 becoming moldy after 6 mons, & rancid that has 2 b really bad 4 ur skin, it seems pretty reckless 4 Dior 2 even take that risk with its consumers skin..bc if it was moldy after 10 mons but not quite there at 6-9 mons but it looked okay,u would probly still wear it not knowing it was already spoiled,thats not a risk people want 2 take with their skin.

Just one remark: Comète is about cherry blossom, not cherry. If someone is expecting the smell of cherryc the fruit, they might be disappointed. 😅
To me, Comète smells mainly of almond powder at the beginning, drying down to musc and iris later.

I know they list cherry blossom but to my nose and on my skin it feels more like cherry even with a light leathery accord in the beginning which reminds me a little one of the latest Petite Robe noir perfumes of Guerlain. But with fragrances it all depends on the skin's chemistry so it always best to test on skin.

Another CZcams reviewer said an eyeshadow palette from Dior that was only 10 mons old had developed mold on the it, after only 10 mons, i will never buy from Dior so expensive & the quality of Dior has been so degraded bc of not using preservatives 2 actually have mold on a powder product after only 10 mons is absolutely unacceptable & disgusting, if a brand is so greedy they stop using preservatives & quality takes a nosedive instead if making more money on products that r literally only good 4 around 6mons, the result will not b more money 4 the greedy brands but the opposite, people will stop buying those brands altogether..i seriously doubt Chanel's products will ever b preservative free, i dnt think they will degrade the quatof their products the way Dior has, hopefully theyr smart enough not 2 ruin their products wen the quality of products & long shelf life of their products is wat makes people 2 continue purchasing from Chanel, i think it would b brand suicide 4 Chanel 2 follow such a stupid trend
I saw two people comment on Notfitforprintbeauty’s channel recently saying that their new Dior quints had already gone off. No mold but rancid smell. This is so disappointing!
but are people keeping their makeup in the bathroom? How is it happening that so much moisture gets inside the compact?
@cwynn1547 I don't leave my makeup in the bathroom it's always in my bedroom but that is a very good point
I don't know of any1 who leaves their makeup in a bathroom, but that's not wat I'm saying,if there's no preservatives in our makeup it won't matter where we store it it will still go rancid & most likely get mold on it, I think the brand are assuming if a shelf life says 6mons, people will automatically throw it away the minute the 6month shelf life is up 2 the exact date,& most of us dnt do that bc we invest 2 much money in our makeup 2 not take the expiration date with a grain of salt & expect it 2 last at least alittle but longer than that,but if it's turning moldy by the 10th month then we need 2 throw it w away exactly at the 6month time & 4 most of us it's just not worth buying in that case
But I haven't had or heard of any problems like that with Chanel makeup so until I do I will continue buying it, Dior is another story

I wanted to share with the community I saw another favorite product, the Ombre Première Cream Eyeshadows, have been quietly discontinued. I saw this information on the U.S Chanel website at the cream eyeshadow product page under the Q&A section for the colors 804 Scintillance and 802 Undertone. All three colors are sold out. The Chanel Beauty Experts are answering the queries about restocks of this product by explaining they are discontinued and directing customers to try the new Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadows. I hope this means Chanel will bringing us a new cream shadow product in the future.I hope this is helpful to you and the French for a Day community.

The only products I'm buying from Chanel is Foundation I go through it quick with my job and lipsticks and perfume I dont like the clean beauty trend very disappointing Chanel have gone this way I like preservatives it protects us not just the products I am buying other brands for the other products I use

I thought i would love Comet and my AS thought so too. But i absolutly hated it! That and Sycamore is not for me. I have bought Beige and Coromandel and these where me. I don’t know why i so disliked it.
I love Chanel makeup But i have no reference back to it because i am s new Customer of that. Their perfume i have used since eternity back.
The trio i would like in different order. Have highlighter up, rouge in middle and Bronzer lowest. As it now the Brown have a tendency to come along with the highlighter and rouge.
before brands went clean people were constantly complaining about "nasties" in makeup, now clean brands are criticized for short shelf life, products worse quality. I suggest everyone will chose which way he/she wants and stops consistently complaining and as somebody pointed out it is actually EU that banned some ingredients. Single eyeshadows I love I was hoping they would add more shades I'm very happy with this release I rather buy 4 single shades that I alternate in comparison to 2 ir 3 palettes because I only use 2 shades out of each. I disagree with comete fragrance I think every fragrance will last on someone for a long time but will fade quickly on other.i love chanel has number of timeless fragrances

I absolutely love love the oversized powder. I initially planned on skipping them because I have sufficient highlighter, blush, and bronzer. However, when I went in person and tried it medium coral just transformed my face and of course I purchased it. I find I can even swirl together and put them on my face with a beautiful effect! I am awaiting to try the eyeshadows :)
I think you will love the eyeshadows too. :) The formula is lovely and I like the new colors that they added.

A lot of research has gone into formulating "clean" beauty; I realize that. I must say, however, that I have yet to see any clean beauty that is at least equal to what it replaced. In my experience, clean beauty products are inferior. Also, who wants to replace expensive foundation every six months? It's very profitable for the beauty industry though.

:/ Vitamin E can be pore clogging (comedogenic rating 3/5). The clean beauty idea, as always, get corrupted by these companies :( higher prices with barely any usetime only to go into the trash, how is this clean and environment friendly? Make the product smaller and less pricy. Also some of the „clean“ ingredients can be problematic too so we are not really gaining much. For example Coconut Alkanes are highly comedogenic as well, naturally or clean does not automatically mean good for the skin. This guilty pleasure of luxury makeup was always a scam now it is even more so :((
And don’t get me started on this skincare hybrids nonsense. Not everyone tolerate niacinamide, especially in every good damn product AND makeup. hyaluron can promote inflammation in some people but it is everywhere, made me suspicious if it is because it us soooo good for the skin if it even can penetrate the outer skinlayer or more because it is good to formulate with and maybe cheap?
I am very disappointed that Chanel test on animals I have stopped buying Chanel and any company that does Dior do not test on animals they need to find a way to not test on animals it's very cruel

The shelf-life of the products are becoming much shorter and the ingredients of the new perfume make it not long-lasting... Hummm, so basically increased prices in exchange for lower-performing products, wonderful 😤 !! It seems that greed has no limits, maybe it's time that customers start rebelling at last. If what you pay for is the savoir-faire, quality and experience, it's only fair to get it!! I really can't tolerate that new wave of expensive perfumes with less longevity.
To me the whole clean beauty trend is nonsense. So much more waste produced now due to products only lasting short period of time. Brands happily jumped on the clean beauty train because they know we will need to buy products more often. It's all just a money making scheme and makes it worse for the environment.
