Technique as a servant of musicianship you are the best teacher I have ever listened to. I will succeed because of you
I never understood why people watch videos that are on topics which they have no interest or expertise, and give a thumbs down. Mozart may not be everyone's cup of tea, and classical flute may not seem hip to many, but if you are interested in classical flute this video is a gold mine. Any young flutist with a goal to get into a decent music school, cane count on spending so much time learning this piece. Nina shares her personal approach to putting life and expression into this piece, which you can't even begin to do until you have the piece and technique ingrained in your mind and finger memory muscle. Thank you Nina!
Couldn't have put it better myself. Nina's video is truly invaluable for people like me, who do not have assess to amazing teacher that can inspire people and get you interested in music with such depth and emotional level.
Dear Nina, your posts are so precious to me! It's incredible how much I can learn from your videos. THANK YOU!!!!
I taught myself to play the flute. I think you teaching is EXCELLENT. Much better than anyone I have every seen. And you are pretty too. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks
how can people dislike this -_-
hi nina,
watching this video after i dropped out flute practice for so many years, it brings me those wonderful memories that I used to have when i played both piece of mozart back in China.
still couldnt believe youtube orchestra is coming to Sydney, hopefully i will get the tickets for that. i am an oversea student study in Sydney university now. Feel bit sad that i dont play flute anymore :(
I teach English and US History in high school, and I don't have an ounce of musical talent in me but I watch your video just to imbibe on the enthusiasm, energy and love that permeate so prominently when you speak. I only wish my students feel the same when they see me talk about Shakespeare, Steinbeck and Coelho. Thank you~!
Nina, You are pure magic. Thanks for every one of your You Tube lessons. Your playing is so musical.
Hi Nina, I sincerely thank you for your valuable comments every passages and tones about Morzart concert. I reached this you tube movie just to look for Ibert concert tips but your advice was very professional to learn to improve my daily lessons. Thank you so much to upload your lesson.
Awesome video, I love the connection to singing.
wow. you are amazing! perfect tips for my audition thanks!
I'm playing the concerto in G major for a series of orchestra and university auditions. Your video is great! Very helpful
Congratulations Nina ! You make a wanderfull job !!!! We thank you !!!!!!
Thank you for making this helpful video!!
Great video, thanks!
Thank you so much!! These ideas will help me so much with my audition coming up!
Hi Nina! Great work as usual! Enjoyed all the good tips and insight into the Mozartian style. This is helpful, thanks!
thank you so much, next saturday i ll perform the concerto in d major and that really helped me. Good wishes from germany :)
I really like how you explain things Nina, your analogies make everything crystal clear. I think I’d be a great flautist if you were my teacher. 😀
Good point about Mozart. treating the Flute just like sung parts, so it's up to the player to act like a singer to really bring his vision to life. I love his horn concertos, but always hear the sonority and articulation that's the special reserve of brass. Mozart didn't really explore the unique qualities of flute the same way, but left plenty of scope for the player. The helpful tips here apply to nearly all of the romantic music up to the present day. Great tutorial to watch a few times!
Hi Nina, @ mojonflute, huh?
I have been playing flute for over thirty years,
I love Mozart and you play it wonderfully, plus your tips are always helpful.
We are so on the same page regarding Mozart! I have always felt that his gift really shines when he's writing for singers. Because of this, I have always modeled my Mozart performances after great singers
The video example was a great idea. Also check out Natalie Dessay singing Queen of the Night. Since she is a soprano, her range is closer to ours as flutists. She amazes me with the clarity and flexibility with which she can sing runs and scalar passages. Great video, Nina!
Thank you very much!!!!!
I could listen to you forever :)
I don't play the flute, but still found this help from a musical perspective. Thanks.
I love your beautiful gold flute
RELLY HELPFUL ,THANK YOU
Bravo!
This is also very important for playing for instance organ pieces etc.! It is so important to really speak, to really live... You know it!
This is very important what you say - serious, universal stuff. Now I know! Cheers!
I played the concerto in G for my Grade VIII, I still remember it well... but need to practice again...
you are such an inspiration, so interesting to watch, and so crazy (in the very best sense of that word :)
Thanks, Nina! Your tips are really outstanding. I've tried putting them into practice, but some I couldn't get very well.
Kisses,
Carlos-Brazil
Mozart is fab for contrast! You are a fantastic flautist! :) I'm learning the flute but only at a basic level (Grade 6 ABRSM). Thanks for your entertaining videos :)
Thanks, Nina! Your tips are really outstanding. I've tried putting them into practice, but some I couldn't get very well.
Kisses,
Carlos
Very good teaching,and I think don't forgot , Mozart
Nina nice, I agree with your way of expressing difficult Mozart
thanks nina
pretty helpful with the HA-HA and TI-YA-TA-KA
now just need good sounding hall, and video recorder
thanks
how funny I often use hahas to tongue instead of tonguing(or used to I had to break that habbit lol), have u done a video on circular breathing yet? also could u do a video on left hand tension?
Hey there!! Do you have a video that goes over all flute notes (as a review)? Thank you!
bravo,t'es tres belle/
My Mozart looks the same way. I keep buying new editions...but I always seem to gravitate back to my original copy. Thank goodness for scotch tape.
Hey Nina,
Thanks for your videos. They are awesome! Do you have any tips on ending with your own cadenza? Thanks.
Hi Nina. You should make two videos of yourself playing both movments when you have the chance. Your such an amazing player.
@mauroscappini Thanks Mauro. I always like your videos!
Hi Nina I'm working on the D major concerto right now. when you trill from middle D to E.... do you have the left hand 1 down or not? I was taught to put it up, but I kinda like the sound when it is put down. Or can I do half way down?
Hi, Nina! Working on Mozart's Concerto in D right now and your video has helped me so much! But I need some advice about how to clean the opening trill and C#-D ornament. Do you use the real fingerings for that? Obviously I have to practice it, but is there a way to make that sound cleaner (like yours lol). It is, after all, the first thing the judges/audience hears!
Thanks so much!
Nina PerAmore OHH Im so in Love & go to sleep w U relaxing bird flute sound

hey Nina, i'd like to know if you have some stuff on itunes. I need songs like this to relax and read books too.
do yo prefer muramatsu ex or sankyo 301, i know i am out of topic, but can you help please
i've been working on this. :D
Good
Great advice ..love the diaphragm advice , the articulation , character differentiation...not losing the note etc.....othrwise the whole thing becomes' sawdust'! Without the two fingers the C/ C# trill will be out of tune. The trill key is a great device!
This works great, but takes a good deal of work. Low notes! Great ...I think we can tend to be too tight in executing these.
hello dear nina
i would like to ask how can i study more from you ?i study on low and tin whistle
irish stuff and pipes , i study alot from the tia taka, andworm air ,and every advice
teach me so much - any way i want to thx you from all of my heart from here israel
and if you have somthing for the low whistle to get beter this always helps
thx to the best teacher in the world !!!
@BBQJester winners from last year are not eligible to reaudition, so the orchestra in 2011 will be different players.
Which publication are you playing from?
What camera do you use to record?
You are such a good teacher and also a lovely woman. I like to ask You, if possible, to speak a little bit slower because I speak german Thank you so much
Alfons
I'm practicing Mozart G, but fast tonguing is so hard :(((
crazy? Yes!
Nina are you still in the orchestra? Why are they getting people to audition, I thought they had more than enough people.
Where did you study that gave you such opportunity to become so great?!
@kfirlevi1 I do offer various options for online lessons which you can read about on my website REALFLUTE project dot com under "lessons" but I've never taught or played tin or low whistle!
Mozart is a child who always really bad and love the game of life anytime, when we play the song from Him, always be happy and. VERY VERY BAD
Can you play some Disney songs or movie themes ? (I know is way too easy for you )
thank you
