  • Fall is our favourite time of year to ride. Seeing the trees in full colour and enjoying the milder temperatures make this time of year perfect for riding.
    The falling leaves can make the trails pretty slick, especially on rocks. They also make challenging spots look not so difficult...as you'll see in a couple of spots in this video.
    Enjoy the ride!

    Out of all the wheeling videos I’ve seen yall maybe use 40 percent of your throttle. Just send them already!!

      Lol. We’re not out here to go hard and break things. We’re out for a good ride and hopefully make it back in one piece and without expensive repairs. If our parts and repairs were sponsored and paid for then that’s a different story. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! Was this a day trip for you guys or did you stay somewhere? We snowmobile that area in the winter….would love to try it out on the quad. Whose trail network and pass are required?
    Cheers!

      Thanks! This was just a day trip. The trails are part of the HATVA system and are off the 118 hwy.

    Have you had any issues with your machine? So far I’ve had gear box grinding issues, water getting into connectors and an axle seal went off at 45 hrs

    is the blue one an xmr? did you guys change plastics or paint it?

    • @johnsoff-road
      @johnsoff-road  Před 5 měsíci +1

      No the blue one is an 850 Max XT. Mine is the only XMR in the group. Everyone has a rad relocate though if that’s what you were thinking.

    • @johnsoff-road
      @johnsoff-road  Před 8 měsíci

      Not sure what the diamond is. The app we use most of the time is Ride Command.

    Newbie question. When you’re on the trails are you mainly in 2wd.

    • @johnsoff-road
      @johnsoff-road  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes almost always in 2WD unless in a challenging spot or deep mud. And for slower, technical trails or when stuck use Low gear. Faster trails use High.

      @@johnsoff-road bought my first quads in my life at the age of 60. First one about six weeks ago is a 2023 Outlander
      XT-P 850 max. Manly bought it to take the grandkids for rides out at the cabin. I found it so easy to drive and under control, I went and bought a 2023 Outlander XMR 1000R in the tan colour. Besides the tires being a little rough I really like to as well. I’ve named it “The Beast”

    • @johnsoff-road
      @johnsoff-road  Před 8 měsíci

      Wow those are two of the best machines on the market! I’ve always wanted to try an XT-P and considered it when I bought my 1000 XMR but I’ve wanted an XMR since they came out back around 2010. I hear the XT-P rides like a Cadillac on the trails though. Enjoy!

    • @pjfan173

      @@johnsoff-road I only have about 70 kms on both. The biggest differences are one, just like you said is the ride. The XT-P is quiet a bit smoother, but obviously different tires and it seems like they’re geared different. The XMR is a little clunkier when first going. I know both these machines are overkill for first bikes, but I really liked the looks of the 2023 XT-P, having black wheels. I had the dealer put black bumpers on it and I removed all the yellow Can Am stickers and warning ones as well and it looks so good. As for the 1000R XMR, again I really like the Tan one with black wheels. All the younger guys I work with have put dibs on them if I decide to sell them in a few years, because they know Hoe good I take care of my things.
      Really enjoying those videos

    • @johnsoff-road
      @johnsoff-road  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Sounds like you’re set up very well! You’re right, I definitely didn’t buy the XMR expecting a plush ride on the trails. My Max XT’s were much smoother of a ride but also didn’t have nearly the ground clearance and capability in the mud. It’s tough to have a machine that’s perfect in all conditions so you need to accept some trade-offs for the type of riding you’re going to do. Thanks for the comments!
