In spite of the pandemic, student enrollment is booming at HBCUs. Size is no indication of quality, but the larger schools have more resources, more programs, and bigger staff. Enjoy ✊🏽

Great information. Totally agree North Carolina A & T deserves number #1. Very beautiful campus and museum as well. There were great efforts during slavery to educate descendants of American slaves. The reason HBCU’s were founded. The early conditions were not glamorous, the schools were established under harsh conditions. They took 🍋 and made lemonade during the most horrible times. North Carolina has the highest number of HBCU’s in America. Great efforts were made in the Carolinas. Alabama is the second largest state to educate their descendants. Although Maryland is a very small state early generations made efforts to educate their black population in all four corners of the state, never having to cross in DC unless they wanted. All of Maryland ‘s HBCU’s were founded by Methodist or Christian philanthropy due to the original free blacks of Maryland were Methodist and were educated by Methodist congregations as early as 1820 through AME congregations. The Methodist and Quakers fought tirelessly snd gave birth to both freedom and education in Maryland. I would love to learn about all the HBCU’s founded during slavery, it is the power of Perseverance! I will never forget Booker T.Washington, Mary M. Bethune, and Selena Sloan Butlers efforts to educate descendants of American slaves. The most educated black man in America was Frederick A. Douglass, who had no degrees, but was full of wisdom!

    • @msjuicycouture22

@@msjuicycouture22 What's good about a community if we dont own any of the major bussiness that are in it? It's very important to master the things that's on our playing field so to speak. The hair care is a Multi BILLION dollar industry and its IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. This is an industry that we have to seriously take on. I'm tired of seeing Black people with degrees and becoming managers at Amazon warehouses, UPS, Walmart and working at auto plants; jobs that a high school graduate can get.
