  • In this video we install a product new to us called SONOpan, which is a recycled wood fibre panel, that drastically reduces the transmission of sound between rooms.
It's very easy to install, and goes up much the same way that drywall does.
Check them out online at SONOpan.com

What is the corner wedge all about? Reducing sound wave build up?

Any idea how this compares to mass loaded vinyl? Would you still put two layers of 5/8" over this with Green Glue in between?

SgtZima not sure how it compares but this is a base level install. If you want to take it to its full potential, its best to install resilient channel over it, and 2 layers of 5/8” drywall. The clients on this project did not want to lose the height

Toolaholic Thanks for the reply. That’s why I’m curious as I also don’t want to lose height. I’m wondering whether to go 3/4” of this then 5/8”, or MLV then 2x5/8”.
