Looking back on this I don’t know if I quite appreciated how much he knew “ where the goals were” and how the odds always seemed to be stacked against keepers when he was one on one. 🇬🇧 legend
My favourite goal from boydy was probably his volley against Partick from a long pass was as good as the famous van Basten volley in my opinion 🙌🇬🇧 and there it is at 4.55 on the video 👍 sublime finish
Definitely an underrated player, just check out his stats and not just for Rangers, and a great pundit too. Pity a small minority of Celt fans gave him a hard time as most fans don't want that crap in the game.

Off the top of my mind. Auxerre away in the UEFA cup group stage 2006. Rarely started/used by Walter smith in Europe as he wasn’t as useful in games we don’t have 75% possession. Miller,naismith,cousin etc. a lot better options
I remember McLeish did the same. Threw him on against Villareal away in 2nd leg n he missed a sitter to put us in quarters. Still an absolute legend 🔵⚪🔴💪
@@davidrussell7429 he still had a lot more goal scoring skills than any of those and could have been a lot more useful on european games. Lack of courage from the coach sometimes, something that cost the 2008 european final for example
