Hello friends welcome to my channel, My name is Akash Prajapati, Today's topic is CK-MB Test.
Creatine kinase is also called creatine phosphokinase (CPK). It is an enzyme found mainly in heart and skeletal muscles. Skeletal muscles are muscles related to the skeletal system (bones and bones). It is also found in some quantity in the brain. It gets secreted into the blood during any injury, stress or muscle damage.
The CK-MB test is commonly used to diagnose myocardial infarction or heart attack. CK-MB exists inside the body in two forms. CK-MB2 is secreted by cardiac cells and is converted to CK-MB1 in the blood. If prompt examination is done within 6 hours of the onset of cardiac symptoms, it helps in correct diagnosis of myocardial infarction.
CK-MB is an isoenzyme of creatine kinase and is an essential cardiac marker. CK-MB levels increase in heart injury, heart attack and other heart-related conditions. During this period, increased levels of CK-MB can be seen in the blood serum. This enzyme also gets secreted into the blood due to rigorous exercise (exercise which causes more stress in the body). Sometimes the ratio of CK-MB1 and CK-MB2 is also determined in myocardial infarction. It is advisable to get this test done when the following signs and symptoms appear because these symptoms are considered to be related to cardiac problems and require immediate attention:
Pain in chest
Any kind of chest discomfort or feeling of fullness in the chest
breathlessness
sudden sweating
Tiredness
nausea and vomiting
