- On this day, 10 years ago, NASA launched their MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) spacecraft to Mars. So, in order to celebrate this historic anniversary, I decided to dunk on NASA, and show them how it's REALLY done!

I wonder what NASA unlocked on the tech tree with the 478 science earned 😂
not much, that’s why they’re stuck using space shuttle parts for the SLS
@@mcdonallink1906they also still used the RS-25
I reckon they used it for a strategy in the Admin building to use private companies for missions...
@@spaceflight001 hey! The vector is a good engine!
@@Harold-TheJass-Blingman yes, but why they didn't switch to new engines? They have lots of
*Edit: -science
To be fair to NASA, they didn't have any of Blackrack's mods during their mission, which puts them at a large disadvantage.
plus they where on ultra realistic mode
they also had RSS/RO/RP-1
@@danzstuff LOL
Plus the astronauts nasa have can't stay a year alone, without oxygen water or food
nasa is in in irl career mode
"Over The Hedge" in 7 languages doesn't count as 7 different movies, Matt.
It's an indisputable fact that NASA have never even successfully launched into Kerbin orbit.
NASA: using unmanned craft.
Fearless kerbals: SEND MAN
I love it
OBJECTION: Real Slim Shady mod needed to be installed for this to be a real recreation of NASA's mission
I am so disappointed that this critical oversight has occurred.
matt: trash talks nasa
also matt: *rips off solar panel*
STOP ROASTING MATT
@@JacobsLifeTodayDeadass Matt is easily the worst “popular” ksp player, he really doesn’t know how to efficiently design a rocket, most of the things makes are overkill, I’ve never seen him play through a career (the only mode where efficiency is key).
He could do better than the Mars Climate orbiter at least.
@@roboticfuzzball179because of him ksp is popular kid go watch his older videos 😂
@@roboticfuzzball179 He's so me frfr
Another fantastic video, great work as always :D
What you said.
The lander gives me some ideas for building my own lander can (because I'm never satisfied with the ones in-game).
Are you missing the Starship launch while playing KSP? Or will they break for the fireworks?
Good ol’ Matt never disappoints us with his KSP videos
you are such a great creator i have been watching for along time and take great inspiration from you. thank you for making great videos.
I can't wait for december when the science update, the fix for noddle rockets, the better atmosphere and reentry heating gets added to the game.
WIll be waiting for Matt video about it to decide if i should buy the game there. 😁
Thanks. Keep the KSP1 videos coming. Please. You Rock. :)
Hi Matt, i´m quiet new in KSP1 but i love it. I am really impressed what you did here and what you build. Lander in a 2.5 meter box, -> Duna, out of the box, land, doing science things, take off and back into the box and safely back to Kerbin. Well, that looks all very easy when you doing this. Congrats to this successful mission. NASA should have asked you for help sooner /kappa
And the most important result of the mission? If you can't manage the landing with gold aluminum foil, you didn't wrap enough aluminum foil! (like The Rock using much tape in skyscraper)
I´m looking forward to the science update in KSP2 and many videos from you.
Greetings from Berlin/Ger, Daniel
"why mars be that way?"
-Matt Lowne 2023-
I really wish they hadn't cancelled the followup mission, GRADLE.
"What do you mean Jeb? You want to play golf on Duna?"
"I, ehhhh ... want to check how ballistic objects are influenced by the atmosphere and wind..."
Social media, woosh, all that good stuff!
What good content this is.
Good luck in Paris Matt!
14:48 they don't get used up. so you only ever need one kit even though they stack to 5.
NASA watches this video and then Bill Nelson shouts to his assistant, get Matt Lowe on the line we’re making him head of our discovery program now, then shouts Kevin your fired
Played by JK Simmons
i get excited every time i see you uploaded
Good look in Paris Matt!See you soon(also can’t wait for Starship flight 2)
you are the reason i re downloaded ksp and actually learn it, great video and thank YOU
Love your vids Matt!
I LOVED URVIDEO I HOPE U WIN THE EVENT :DDD!
I must say, I think atm I do prefer watching KSP1 videos more than 2's.
Just such a easier watch imo
0:33 me: “didn’t you say that you didn’t get based at KSP until like 2015/2016 tho 👀🤣”
Good luck with the competition - sounds like it might a be fun challenge.
I could sleep in a 2.5 cube. I could also play a board game with a few friends. We'd each have to sit in a corner and it would feel a little crowded, once you include the snacks, but it could work.
we need more ksp 1 videos until ksp 2 gets better
soon! Science progression and wobbly rockets fix is coming next month!
@@WeekendWarrior92excellent
KSP 2 should have built from the ground up to take care of the things that limit KSP, and it hasn't. Using Unity for a gigantic space simulation game is a _very bad_ decision. Not to mention all the other problems with Unity. Probably the best would've been to build everything in KSP from the ground up to support a space simulation game, which is quite different from what the commercially available game engines are designed for. Then it might have become something worth paying money for. But then again it is T2 that owns it now, so it probably shouldn't be bought by anyone anywhere.
Oh that was a perfect mission- love it
Man I just started playing this game and have been blown away by your designs!
Can you please recreat some of soviet (clearly SUPERIOR) mars missions please
Love you're video
Good luck with the Esports event, Matt!
As someone who is extremely interested in space and thinks NASA is most of the time just wasting money like any government organization. I think Matt should be put in charge of NASA with absolutely no barriers to his command with an unlimited budget
I really like how it fits in the little box like at 18:50 satisfying
hope your mission is going well IRL matt!
Keep up the good work❤
will the mentioned ksp e-sports thing be steamed somewhere / will a recording of it be on the channel at some point?
When you do a smooth camera spin around the craft do you do it with your mouse or camera tools
Next mission Mat Lowne actually gets hired by NASA
Good luck on your competition event that you're currently doing
"Who are you?"
"I'm you, but better."
Those are some is re-entry level burns in the beginning!
Fun vid matt!
6:06 now it’s a recreation of the indian probe that launched that same year, with the one solar panel
Can't wait till he makes a vid on the E-Sports event...
I'd bet it would be amazing!
The items-still-in-storage thing is a bug, yes. Under some conditions, things that you take out of storage while on EVA can get duplicated.
According to a quick web search, the problem is most often triggered when entering command pods after changing inventory while on EVA.
Matt Lowne: makes this video
NASA: y u bully me
Hey Matt! Will you ever play RSS it's a heck of a ton of fun also nice video!!
Nasa holding their hands over their eyes crying while thinking about how useless humans are compared to kerbals. With their immortality, needs no food and water plus has perfect moral 100% of the time XD
Now, I find that Learning about Mars's atmosphere is a useful thing to do, but a way to one up it further would be to actually have the probe in a orbit that intersects the atmosphere by just skimming the top with a high apoapsis but a very low periapsis. This is Just an Idea that popped into my head during the intro and starting of the build.
this will be the last time Nov 18th will be dedicated to the anniversary of Maven so good for Mat to send it off well
Have You checked out the outer Planets Mod?
Wow doing this video just a few hours before IFT2. (also really cool video)
i know this is completely unrelated to the video but a real Saturn V is approximately 131 kerbals tall. {love your vids btw }
The crash tolerance of those structural panels is absurd 😆
Star Ship launched!!!!!!!!
Daily KSP task: one up NASA with green goobers
What mods did he use? it looks so sharp
As their failure was so complete, I vote we give Matt NASA's budget :)
What’s the mod that makes atmosphere so beautiful? And adds clouds and all
I have a real good question for you matt, how did you get those much bigger solar panels?
I'm suprised you don't have an aerospace industry job yet
Hi Matt, Good luck hope u do well!
how do you Always one up nasa your so good at the game!
Woooo janner boy! I'll meet you down union rooms when you're back.
CANT WAIT FOR SPACE THIS WEEK WITH STARSHIP!!!!!
Love the NASA trash talk. Just saw the NSF stream of SpaceX launch!
“cheap hotel in London” yeah good luck from a Londoner
18:38 It's Matt's British genes speaking again!
*spacecraft breaks* me: why do i hear the blunderbirds theme in the background?
How fast can you get to duna with stock parts? brute force your way with massive burns that take weeks?
3:44 never gets old
If you want to one up them you should have brought an engeener kerbal to maintain the main craft just in case
fun fact: you can use eva science experiments multiple times
although, i had have a bug where it disapears, but not during use. i think that bug is where kerblas inventory got reset to default, but most of the times i can use eva science experiments multiple times
you should to an entire municipality mission in first person
I bet the lawn hasn't been mowed in 10 years
Programmers be like: b… b… but… Gradle! 😢
Can't believe NASA didn't consult Matt on the MAVEN. Sad.
What mod is the sand storm you see on duna?
would you consider doing a new mod list video? @matt
Hi Matt! Do you have a folder of KSP mods you use or a list of mods? I would like the same composition of mods)
November 18th, 1922, my grandfather was born. He passed in 1994. November 18th, 1935, my father-in-law was born. He passed away earlier this year.
I get the bug with no sound from engines in vanilla too.
I dont think its a mod issue i think its a game bug that was introduced in the latest update.
cant wait for the next modded video
Sometimes I wonder if NASA is even trying!
oh you mentioned the chat gpt missions. ask GROK to design a ksp mission and see what it comes up with
The pseudoarrogance is cracking me up so hard! 🤣Though having said that, it's a sweet & sour kind of joke and it did get a little too strong for my taste. The early part of the video could perhaps have used a little bit more talk about the lander or mission to break up the dunking on NASA.
I can't wait to see how the competition turns out! 😄I've been hyped for it since I first heard about it. I hope you and Beardy have fun, Matt!
Plymouth to France... I miss driving. I was based in Worthing and loved driving the A27 and A31; beautiful roads! I can't recommend the coastal route to Dover though, there aren't enough bypasses for such a long distance.
I love that lander! 😄I'll look into the box challenge.
I'm fine with how your videos look, Matt. I like seeing what's going on so much that even when playing on my own, I delay my own dockings until they're on the light side just because it looks better. *Light-siders unite!* 😂
You know, it is pretty funny that you were dunking on NASA while your own ship is missing a solar panel like some beaten-up old banger. 🤣
Oh man, flying on Kerbin. That lander really is something else! :D The Twitch engine is amazing! Its only weakness is its Isp, but it's so light...
Sorry for the long comment. I've been trying to cut down, but my life's not all right at the moment and I just... I hope each paragraph was light and fun, at least.
Bruh chill
@@chrisdiantonio7622 it's nice of you to say so, but 'chill' doesn't seem to be a thing i'm capable of, unfortunately.
poor NASA, always up for grabs
