@BeforeThisNovember Thank you! (If that was meant for me, lol) I feel like I do when it's not just crazy, lol. I love my job and my hobbies. I play bagpipes, too. But that one I have let myself become very out of practice. I need to get back in the swing of things with playing again. But I have become obsessed with crafts like this video.
If you ever come to England be sure to visit Northampton, where Crockett and Jones are made. There is a factory shop with massive discounts. Also, Crockett and Jones has a repair department...
I used to love visiting Mr. Pete who ran a shoe making/repair shop in our small town. The smells, the sights and Mr. Pete a loving man. We just had to watch from our side of the counter. Great memories this evoked.❤❤❤
Espetacular......
Better grip and traction on wet surfaces dry surfaces as well they also wear down less quickly as the toe is the first to scuff and scrape down on shoes
@@Dontgetsoupset How dose metal have better grip/traction in any condition over rubber or leather? That seems to go against physics. I must be missing something.
@@ericdunthorne1981 the toe on every shoe wears down the quickest and easiest to prevent repairing it frequently most dress shoes had metal toe tips because they are a lot harder to wear off they don’t interfere with traction the rubber soul he put in adds better traction for the wearer
Sir, I have to say, you do absolutely amazing work. Your attention to detail is awe-inspiring. I could watch these videos all day. Keep up the fantastic work.
Shoe makers have been doing it for many years, so , maybe try it. They keep the shoes lasting longer and give you a bit of a distinctly rich sound when you walk. You'd wear these at a nice desk job. Redwing Boots has you covered if you need something for people who work harder for a living.
Loved watching this. I worked in a shoe store and shor repair shop for about 5 years when going to high school and junior college. The owner was a big guy who actually looked like waa rather clumsy, but was truly an artist when it came repairing shoes. I learned so much from him. I saw him transform someone e of the ugliest shoes into beautiful "new" shoes. It is artistic!❤❤❤
Growing up we would do this to every new pair of leather shoes we bought. Shoes soles plus putting nylon heels made them last forever. Excellent craftsmanship btw....took me back❤❤❤
Nothing like watching a true craftsman apply his skills.
Well said
SUPER ARBEIT 👍👍👍
@user-oy1ji4sy8t Crockett and Jones website, I'm sure. They are high-end Oxford dress shoes.
D'accord du travail 'd' artiste ❤❤❤❤❤
So nice there are people that still do this. Very nice.

Wonderful to watch craftsmen do their thing.
I'm sure Mr. Capone was very impressed with this job.
Freaking a work of art!!!! Great to see the craftsmanship!!! Thank you for sharing!!
You have to appreciate the skills of a veteran cobbler. Impressive!!
seen a few recently, chiseling down to perfection each cobble, after only one fast look at where it was going to be placed
Bendiciones amigo.
My grandfather did this from the 60's to the 80's. Absolutely love this!
I haven’t seen toe taps in years! They were popular in 50’s - 60’s.
Let's bring then back, Cug.
I had them on my Timberland boots and Clark’s Wallabies in the late 90’s.

@smokeysmith1282 why ?
@@fenlandhobbit2307 You’re smart enough to figure it out and understand for yourself.
@smokeysmith1282 I'm an athiest, so my question is still valid .
This kind of craftsmanship is so impressive. It should be considered an art form!
Until 1954 my grandfather was a shoemaker, so I have a special connection to hand-made shoes. These here are great!
Its the music and the skill for me.
Idk anything about fashion or the brands… but your work is amazing to watch
That's the nicest pair of shoes I have ever seen, quality craftsmanship equals art.
I will wear this shoe on my head, so that everyone can see this amazing work.
Hahahaaa... the best comment 😂
Well, you certainly shouldn't wear it on your feet - it's a torture device, no place for the toes at all. They will destroy your feet.
Beautiful shoe and beautiful music Chopin
Those are some sharp looking steppers right there! Nothing classier than the sound of walking in a fine pair of shoes with toe plates also.
Beautiful work!
Being a cobbler seems a satisfying job 😊
Thank you for being true to your craft. You are an artist.
Your work is PERFECTION!
Beautiful shoes, beautiful skill,...so nice to watch!
I always like the look of those 1920s two-tone shoes. Those are now going to make a lovely sound when walked in.
This is beautiful, it is slowly becoming a lost artform in itself. True Artisan in this video folks.
Shoes are too beautiful, would love a few pairs
