  • Thanks For Watching! :D
    In this video, we install the genuine Honda-sold 12 Volt accessory socket. It comes in a typical cigarette socket style which you would find in a car and you can use any usb cigarette plug with it. I personally use it to power my wireless charger Quadlock mount as seen in video.

    For those doing this on a 2024 Honda Rebel 500 non ABS, you’re definitely gonna need the relay. I can confirm.
    Edit: Also. There is no need to fully uninstall the fuel tank. All you need to do is remove the single bolt that holds the tank to the bike. Pull the tank up and back, just like the seat, and move it over to the side to access the relay socket.

    Very nice detailed video. I would definitely keep the cover on to prevent dirt get into the socket. Would have preferred a more of a horizontal opening so water does not enter in rainy weather if you are riding.

      Thank you for your comment! That definitely would have been a smarter engineering choice. Not sure why they didn’t think of that haha.

    Awesome video mate, I watched another video of the same install from another CZcamsr and I much prefer your voice. He also had long finger nails and everyone knows you can’t trust any man with long nails hahaha good work mate

    I've tried 3 different cigarette lighter 12v usb and none of them fit. Any suggestions?

      Hmm… Seems very strange. Its a universal socket so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Do you mean theres just a bit sticking out? That is normal if the adaptor is just tall, then I suggest a shorter one. Otherwise I’m not sure what you mean. If you provide further details I may be of assistance.

    will it work on a 2023?

      Hi Pat, Thanks for you comment. As I said in my video, yes it will work on a 2023 model but you will need to buy an additional item: The Electrical Relay, and install it under your tank. I left more info in the description of the video. Hope this helped!

    You would have been better buying an aftermarket 12V socket, fixing it to your handlebars and running the wire directly to your battery. It has a waterproof top and if it fails, it's easy to swap it out.

      Thanks for your comment. Personally I am not a fan of this option as connecting anything directly to the battery will always leave a room for human error. I’d rather it just turn on and off as the bike does.

      Directly to a battery? Do you hear your self. The wireless charger would always be on and kill the battery even without a phone connected to it. It needs to be connected to ignition so it’s only on when the motor is on. Read a book

    • @Hondadctrider
      @Hondadctrider Před 3 měsíci

      @ridered6271 And yet, in 6 years of my 12V socket being connected directly to the battery, I've never had any problems, isn't that wild.

      @ridered6271 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Hondadctrideryeah that’s a lie. The charger will always pull 1 watt per socket for being plugged in. Not to mention your bypassing the fuse block.
