@Crash1025Bandicoot7. Amen to all of that!
And the Chocolate Factory episode!!
I wasn’t even alive for Dallas but my mother thought me the importance of who shot JR.

Glad to see Star Trek make it. That episode, and the series, were groundbreaking
To narrow down classic moments of I Love Lucy to just one must have been quite a feat, and sparked some debate at the writers' conference.

Vitameatavegamin was not revolutionary during the time it aired, Lucy's childbirth was, it literally beat out the moon landing in viewership, it literally was front page news ON THE DAY THE PRESEDENT WAS INAGURATED like How the hell do you choose her tv commercial over an episode that literally was more important to the general public than the presedency
The Simpsons did a two-part episode parodying Who Shot JR. That alone should tell you how culturally important it was.
It was a parody for The Simpsons storyline Who Shot Mr. Burns.
Loved the video! I think who shot JR was the most iconic.
Your quickie reference to "Jumping the Shark" from Happy Days should have made the full list as it represents a TV series that has outlived its writing, which has more frequently related to police procedurals that take the leads from solving crime to saving the world, i.e., Hawaii Five-O... that's when they're done... KDM
I agree. It's a common phrase today and most people don't know where it came from.

I love Lucy is my all time favorite show I watched since I was a kid and I was born in 88 we had bunny ears on our TV trying to get I love Lucy on 😅
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
Yeah, "Who Shot JR" (or whatever it was officially called) was a big deal. But if you're talking about "defining television", you should have used the "Bobby's Death Was All A Dream" because that directly led to the ends of ST ELSEWHERE and NEWHART, among others
Great countdown but it should have been the top 20. And added the last episodes of Newhart and the last episode of Mary Tyler Moore show
#10 @ 0:25 The Sopranos "College"
#9 @ 1:30 All In The Family "Sammy's Visit"
#8 @ 2:38 St. Elsewhere "The Last One"
#7 @ 3:42 Seinfeld "The Chinese Restaurant"
#6 @ 4:44 Star Trek "Plato's Stepchildren"
#5 @ 5:47 Cheers "Showdown, Part 2"
#4 @ 6:53 M*A*S*H* "Abyssinia, Henry"
#3 @ 7:53 The Fugitive "The Judgement"
#2 @ 9:01 Dallas "A House Divided"
#1 @ 11:49 I Love Lucy "Lucy Does A TV Commercial"
The finale of "St. Elsewhere" was touching, and it's good to see it remembered here. The Thanksgiving episode of "WKRP in Cincinnati" and the episode of "Taxi" when Jim takes his driver's test always belong on such lists with "Chuckles Bites the Dust" and "Went with the Wind."
Top 10 most Iconic TV pilot episodes
Lucy could and should have her own list!
The plot of $99,000 answer was later revamped for the Pinky and the Brain episode Win Big except the final question is about Ralph Kramden's catchphrase.
I expected to see Edith's rape episode of All in the Family. I remember being irritated with the MASH episode that included Henry's death. I thought, at the time, Why can't shows just be funny instead of imbuing them with "meaning"? I am not sure I was wrong, but MASH did continue to be a great show.
23% alcohol no wonder she was gassed lol. She almost made me believe vinerals was a real word.
The end of St. Elsewhere was a huge middle finger at the fans.
“Abysisinia Henry“ is a masterpiece in many ways. like Larry Gelbart saod not everyone got to go home. it was the brillance of the series. it dealt with many very tough issues. it is the best written series in the history of television.
Should have mentioned that the “we live in a society” meme started in the Chinese Restaurant episode
I Love Lucy is truly a perfect sitcom but I've recently begun rewatching it and what I missed years ago is how talented Desi Arnaz is as well at physical comedy. He is the perfect foil for Lucy but it was actually Desi that pushed for Lucy's pregnancy to be included in the show since he thought it made no sense to hide it because they were married on the show and in real life so he knew the audience would know that married couples have babies. It was a no brainer for him.
Seinfeld's No Soup for You, the Soup Nazi episode was classic comedy gold. Seinfeld's The Contest (or master of their domain was funny!) Who shot JR was huge in its day! Lucille Ball working on the factory conveyor belt line stuffing chocolates in her outfit to keep up as the speed of the machine increases was one of the funniest scenes in her first show.
To me, it was "The puppy episode" from Ellen. Happy sunday night, Samantha. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.

I have seen every "Seinfeld" episode including the now-banned "Puerto Rico Day Parade" episode (that one sucked). I did not like "The Chinese Restaurant" episode very much. It was OK, especially the first time. But it is mostly just waiting around. Just go somewhere else! It is NYC. "The Contest" was much funnier and more groundbreaking because it was about masturbation but they never used that word. The only other show I saw that dealt with masturbation was an original "Roseanne". That episode was very funny too.
I refer to shows that just end without resolution as being "Coronet Blue" screwed. Having "The Fugitive" come to an actual finale made it very memorable.
The only downside of Seinfeld's The Chinese Restaurant is that Kramer wasn't in the episode.
Twilight Zone should be more than a honorable mention, that show was so important!
That X-Files Parody Episode Of Unhappily Ever After (1995-1999) That was fucking Hilarious Ryan and Tiffany taking up the roles of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully except they're Siblings

I think the last one from Friends should’ve been there. Awesome list though.
I’d say the thanksgiving episode if you had to pick a friends one or the prom video
I vote for The Muppet Show & Sesame Street.
The brief respective summaries of the Twilight Zone and Honeymooners episodes didn’t go into enough detail to explain why they are honorable mentions.
Everyone (and I mean *everyone*) watched who shot JR!
I didn’t.
#9 classic "All in the Family" w/ Sammy Davis Jr. #4 "Abysynia, Henry" WOW, such an emotional scene. Cast wasn't told what happened until the final moment, to get the reaction."Time enough, at last" good episode of the "Twilight Zone." Lucy does a TV Commercial. When she reaches out of the TV. Ricky-"How 'bout that? 3D TV."😂😅😂😅
I learned about Who Shot J.R. from The Simpsons. Lol. Who Shot Mr Burns?
Honestly neither the Seinfeld or Sopranos episodes even belong here. If you need to include those shows at least pick more important episodes.
What about friends,ncis,the office,once upon a time,Brady bunch,the nanny?
What about The Giant Jackrabbit episode of The Beverly Hillbillies, it was the most watch half hour episode on TV for a long time
Lucy without question
SERIOUSLY?!? You put the finale of St. Elsewhere on this list? That was the biggest slap in the face/betrayal of fans EVER. How would a kid that young, autistic or not, know all that medical jargon? How could he create such detailed adult relationships? He came up with the storyline of a male doctor being raped during a prison visit? That was such deep bullsh*t it was like the streets of Pamplona after the running of the bulls!!!
I would have included Newhart ending
How about the birth of Pebbles in The Flintstones on season three.
The Twilight Zone showed Sci Fi could be smart, relevant and compelling.
seinfeld is a show i cannot stand, i've never seen a full episode
How about The Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show"?
What connected to st.elswjere
Not even an honorable mention for the Twin Peaks pilot? 🤨
Boy the woman doing the voice over totally mangled pronouncing Vitameatavegamin!! 😳
