Camino del Norte | Stage 7: Bilbao to La Arena

ℹ️ Stage 7 on the Camino del Norte de Santiago. We take a short metro ride out of Bilbao to avoid the industrial area and visit the Eiffel Bridge in Portugalete. Most of the way to La Arena is along a wide bike path with plenty of forest and sea views ending at the beach.

Funny how a rest day orntwo can make such a difference on the body and soul. Great bridge facts!! Cracked me up on the escalator it did looke like the way to go! Another great day of hiking and we lobe beach towns great way to end! 😊

I had 1 rest day in Bilbao and was then itching to walk - to Portugalette! Along the east bank, I’m one of the few that loved it! Not so much industry - some, and then new developments and the locals are out jogging along, families out, seemed like a good place to live. The bit going out of Portugalette is so much worse. But you’re still smiling 😊
