Well good to see you still in good spirits and enjoying the beauty that God has created for us to enjoy. Doesn't seem to be well maintained but I guess that will come in time. Hopefully it will all be in the forest before too long. See you next episode. God Bless. As in life - One Day At A Time.

Felines have claws retracted so no claw marks are made when they walk. Canines are not able to retract their claws so they do show claw marks when they walk. Bears are the same as canines.

Have I told you how much I have enjoyed your vlog of the Pinhoti. So nice.
When you get to Chatsworth area, you will find ‘Spring Place’, which in the day before Trail of Tears, the Moravian Missionaries settled there and were accepted by the Cherokee. They lived together in harmony, and the Missionaries taught them English. You are also near the Chief Van House. Enjoy this beautiful area as you pass thru.

Just had a chance to catch up Rev, been away myself and always enjoy your wholesome hikes. Those tracks were most likely canine, the general rule is symmetrical tracks with claw marks are typically canine, no claws and asymmetrical are usually feline. I'm so glad I hike in a country with no threat from wildlife lol. You put me to shame with your miles, well done! Best wishes from England, Rob.

I have done three treks at Philmont Scout Ranch as an adult. 12 days of backpacking with resupply every 3 to 4 days. You thoughts on goals is spot on. Our focus was: where do we find water again (mountain desert), where do we stop to eat, where do we camp next. Simple goals. Thinking about the full 12 day hike would have made the trek very daunting.

I lived in Ellijay Georgia for 21 plus years so I got a good idea about where you are. You are exactly right as far as worrying about the end of the trail. I always just enjoyed from campsite to campsite and then all of a sudden there was the end and you wondered where did it all go. Look forward to seeing you at the end don't know where the end is I don't believe I've been on that particular Trail but I've been on quite a few around Ellijay. I used to do cross- country treks with only a compass and a map no Trail but I can't do that no more. I know you're enjoying that country cuz there's some beautiful scenery all the way around, you just showed some. Have a great trip I'll see you at the end

I didn’t realize that the trail to Keown Falls and John’s Mountain was part of the Pinhoti trail! We did a loop starting with going up to the falls, to John’s Mountain and back down the other side of the falls. Hubby left his hiking stick at John’s Mountain and we had to hike back to get it adding 2 miles to our hike. We found out later that we could have driven to the trailhead to John’s Mountain to get it. 😂😂
