Anytime Sexton is commentating it's a must watch. As always great production value as well and the footage was spot on.
Nate's commentary is absolutely hilarious! I love hearing him joke around about stuff. Absolutely perfect production!

Also, Nate really needs to make this a thing that he does regularly. It's awesome when any of the other pros offer commentary (especially Simon has done very well) but Nate really is on another level with his insights and analysis. Just epic to be able to fight his way onto the lead card while still narrating every round. Somebody hire this man to do something about some things and stuff!

Yep, Nate is one of the smartest players on tour, which makes him an extremely insightful commentator.
2020 did a real number on Nate's commentating, but we did get at least one tournament with BigSexyBarri commentary, and it was pure gold. How to see more of the combo in the future!

Watching this in 2022 and it's still quality, but not nearly as hot as Jomez is now. It gives me confidence as a disc golf content maker that, if I just keep making things, my videos will get better and better! Great to see some of my favorite pros before I was ever interested in the sport, too.

Great video! Nate, EXCELLENT commentary, man - excellent notes, very informative but lots of great nuance and detail, great stuff.
When Niko has his head on straight, he's pretty damn good.
As with most sports that require high coordination, many great players suffer from problems between the ears.
He's also changed his putting style away from exclusively straddle putting. It seems to be working well for him.
He is the third highest ranked player by PDGA player ratings at 1032.

Cool, but that's a different ranking system than player rating. Either way it's a very high rating for a guy who hasn't been playing his best lately.

I feel like when a player knows they will be commentating their own round there needs to be an on going discussion between the 2 as the round goes on and the person to pull this off is Nate Sexton.

a Fozz* idk where that 0 came from
"scoober" is the standard name for that shot (i.e. an upside-down shot with a forehand grip from a backhand stance) in ultimate. I assume the term has bled its way into disc golf, although obviously the shot is much less common in DG.
(Being an ultimate player first and a disc golfer second, I actually use the scoober a lot for upshots, just because I can control the ground play and skid it into the pin reliably. I also really like using it for running uphill puts - I've canned some long scoobers from funny lies a few times.)
Who measured hole 3? There is no way that hole is anywhere even close to 381 feet. Has to be more like 550. You think at the world championships the course designers would do a little better job of that.

I've never understood why people say what Nate says around the 12 min mark, that it's better to miss high then low on putts. If you miss high, you're much more likely to end up with a long come backer or roll away, especially on longer putts. Miss low and you have a drop in. Just wondering what the thinking is there.
I think it's to do with that if the putt is high it had a chance at going in, but if its low out of the hand it never had a chance of going in
If you miss low the putt never had a chance to go in. If you miss high, you at least had a enough power to get it there.
low putts never go in. the goal should be to make the putt, not have a tap in after you miss

They could've said it like, 'players who's names are things' or 'players who's names are common nouns.' It just sounds silly the way it was said. I'm just happy they finally put the 4th round out, the Smashbox or whatever they are broadcasts are really bad. This is really well done.

Smashboxx rules. Edited post coverage is one thing, but live coverage is much more challenging. Their broadcasts have improved with every event they cover. I can only appreciate what they're doing for professional disc golf fans.

It's pretty sad that Video Game championships have a larger cash prize than disc golf. A physical activity that requires one to exert themselves and use skill compared to sitting, staring at a screen, and moving your thumbs. I don't even know how someone can be a "professional disc golfer," and have the money the support themselves.
video games are a lot harder than staring at a screen and moving your thumbs when it comes to a top level. it's actually extremely difficult lol. but there isn't as much infrastructure for disc golf, such as big sponsors to help them. esports have large companies behind them which always helps

Truth, and video game competitive culture has actually been around for a while, easily 20 years. many more eyeballs, many more dollars.
Video games will get very big, disc golf may always be a fringe sport- but that's ok. just need it to be big enough to support the pros. We're getting there.
