This! I wasn’t interested in him but I played his trial for the rewards and ended up liking him a lot, his play style feels very satisfying. I managed to get 3 so he’s my main now until I get Xiao in 30 years lol
I just started playing like a week ago and I pulled heizou twice from standard I think? And I instantly loved him definitely gonna build him up but I think I did my 35 ascension quest to fast because now I’m struggling to kill things hahahaha
I’ve always wondered if they were gonna release a new weapon for fist and foot combat, but I think I like this more. Magically enhanced makes more sense in the world
I really appreciate Zy0x not activating his constellations (except his Xiao) to make his videos and cotent more relatable. And how he didn’t rush this guide (unlike most who did 1 hour after Heizou’s release lol) to give more thought and in-depth analysis.
I have his c6 and he has no energy problems, he's so fun to play. I got like 10 heizous in 162 pulls. Especially the charged attack that stacks. I think he's a pretty balanced character. Unfortunately, I cannot build him like I want at the moment bc I'm building kazuha😩.

That team at 16:18 really shows how well he shines in a reverse melt comp. I could previously only 4 star floor 8, but thanks to this I can easily 9 star floor 12 in under a minute. You really are the best guide maker Mr. ZyOxx
Wish that going forward more catalyst characters will be as mobile as Heizou. The biggest issue i've always had with them is that they just stand there
The team comp I've been using is Heizou-Xingqiu-Fischl-Albedo. All those off field damage is just phenomenal and I enjoy Albedo's ability to give shields and his burst which provides me more EM.
@@chikapu3128 Yeah Zhongli definitely helps with resistance shred and 4pc Tenacity buff. I main Albedo so I just had to include him with Heizou team lol
@@Lencladeus I might be wrong but I don't think Zhongli resistance shred stacks with VV set 4-pc bonus. I often play Albedo along with Fiscl and they have good synergy since Fiscl will always proc Albedo's dmg whatever happens to your on field character. Really think Albedo, and this specific duo is underrated.

In any case, Heizou broke my F2P Status for the Solar Pearl. I have been grinding the BP for months now, refining the Solar Pearl. I’m at R4 now. One more refinement and I will have 40% dmg boost on the skill, burst, and normal atk
Finally someone who's not sleeping on Sacrificial Fragments on a dps build! The obvious lower stats turns everyone away but it's actually pretty solid because of the huge E multiplier. It also feels very high speed, which is a lot of fun even with my clunky setup (I'm still at c0 with a r1 sac frag, c1 makes things way more fluid and refinement makes it more consistent). I recommend trying out the N3-CA-E-Q-N1-CA-E combo for less stamina consumption, and like the video shows it's better to use him on an electro-charged team or a single element team (but this one runs into problems a bit against shields), because the reactions that remove elements get on the way of his swirls a lot. If you're running a different weapon it's probably no big deal, but the prolonged sac frags rotation makes you want consistency with swirling so you don't end up wasting time.
I pulled on Klee's banner (and got her! YEAH!) and also got him + his first two constellations. I actually wasn't superexcited for him, but when trying him out I fell in love. He is really cool and so are his skills. Can't wait to build him!
i wanted for a long time a character that uses his fists to punch mobs to death, creating a new type of weapon is probably impossible so heizou is the best middleground for that dream character, thank you hoyoverse (flex: i got c6 in 40 pulls)
With the exception of the elemental normal attacks and the long skill cooldown, Heizou's quite a different beast from other catalyst users. It's just so satisfying to chain his normal attacks, charged attacks, burst, and skill; it's the very opposite of the clunkiness associated with catalyst users. The non-stop swirling and VV shred also reminds me of Avatar Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Since he doesn't have as much crowd control as the other anemo characters (specif. Sucrose, Kazuha, Venti), slapping a Lost Prayer on him lets him run around much faster and it really highlights his fast-paced gameplay.
You clearly haven't played Yanfei. Her animations are so much smoother than previous catalysts (I've played and mained many of them). She was the best animation wise until Heizhou was released.

It's interesting to me how many Anemo characters have a talent or constellation that gives them energy recharge (Aether, Xiao), or refunds some energy after their burst (Jean, Venti, Heizou). Electro is considered the "energy" element, but Anemo seems to have that quality as well. Albeit with a much more selfish spin.
yeah well most, but not all anemo characters dont get a lot of energy from their skill anyway, so it is kinda a quality of life to have something like that so they can actually use bursts
I feel like one style of Heizou you overlooked is as a quickswap nuke, which is how I feel he is designed. With C1, you can swap in, do a quick N1C, cast your burst, then use your skill with full stacks. After that, his A4 is triggered for the rest of you team. The fact that his skill, A4, and C1 are all on a 10 second cooldown makes it seem like he's perfect to swap in every 10 seconds for quick damage, then buff your other characters.
Since I don't have a Xiao to be my Anemo main dps, Heizou will fill in. He really is fun to play and his air punches and kicks are so cool. Can't wait to have him well built and gonna team him with Beidou, Kuki and XQ.
I love Heizou so so much. Using him with Thoma's burst, Water dudes burst as well, and the Kuki's E makes him a reaction menace. Its just so fun to watch all of the reactions go off all the time.

I've had a crazy idea about Heizou's passive talent. For those who don't have Kazuha, you can still use Heizou as support but you have to use his ult regularly, so you have to make him have a higher ER (200 ER should be fine). And then after his ult, you can use every dps character you want for a better EM for these last 10 seconds. Zy0x, I need your help !
Very excited to build this character! Kazuha has been my favorite character since the day he was released because I found him so much fun to play. While testing Heizou in his trial I felt that same excitement. I don't think any character will beat Kazuha for me, or at least not for a very long time, but I am still very hyped to play Heizou!
I got c1 while pulling for kazuha and I never wanted to build 4 star so badly. He is so fun to play. I also pulled lost prayer on weapon banner so I even have weapon for him lmao
I get why people compare him to sucrose but imo he’s just a single target sucrose. So if I’m running AOE sucrose taser with beidou etc or if it’s floor 12 bosses I’m running heizou with fishl xingqui yelan etc
In most early analysis on him I e seen that is the one situation where he’s as good or better then sucrose single target taser ie heizo fischl yelan xingqiu. Tho the fact that he’s melee could make some boss situations still better on sucrose.
I mean every team he's good Sucrose is better, the one instance he's better Xiao exists, theres no reason to play Heizou in Taser if you have Sucrose, Ayato or Kokomi who are better drivers, yes Kokomi's DPS is better than Heizou's a well invested Kokomi will hit 10K per auto while a well invested Heizou 3-4K, yes Heizou will hit a big number like 40-60K without buffs because no Bennett in Taser, but Kokomi will deal 27K every 3 seconds with the clam set.

It’s like what’s better xiangling tornado hitting 40k from sucrose buff or xiangling hitting only 30k butt you get heizou’s personal damage as well. It think it’s closer than ppl think
The difference is that Sucrose mainly works with EM focused builds and does damage with swirl, while Heizou is used for his much higher talent values in a crit focused build.
kuki feels like a good fit if you want some comfy gameplay with heizou. i have just put some temp artifacts and am running him with kuki, fischl and xingqiu. it works well enough if you don't want to sweat hard without a healer
I really like him so far but I really wish they lower the cooldown on his E. The bulk of his damage comes from that but it’s single hit and has an 8s cooldown, which feels like a lot

Not really relevant to the video but just some more general info about Heizou, the last kick in his normal attacks is a c540 or bolley kick, the proper name for his charged attack is standing flash kick, and his burst is another c540, just looks super jank because its animated so that the rotation is fast and doesn't connect with the kick well because he floats in the air for a second before actually finishing the kick.
i've been expecting him for months but couldn't prefarm bc i'm busy but i had a ton of already leveled VV pieces because of Xiao/Venti/Kazoo so he got home, got to level 50 and talents 4/4/4 and was immediately sent to floor 12 with Xingqiu, Beidou and Shinobu (i can't live without a healer) and it was so much fun despite the lack of stars lol, the most fun i've had in genshin since forever, can't wait to fully build him qwq i've always wanted to run an anemo taser team but just really don't like sucrose but now my time has come i'll keep pulling for cons and if i get klee or lose the 50/50 and get a guarantee for Scaramouche then that's all good by me

Anemo is my 2nd favorite element right behind Geo but it's really because Venti is so smooth, Kazuha is the funnest character and strongest and Heizou is now just SO much fun. I could punch shit for days. I got him to 90 with 9/10/9 talents and I don't regret it. He's just such a fun taser. Is he the most gamebreaking meta character? Not at all but I don't need him to be give him taser and he just goes BRRRRRRRRR
I haven’t had this much fun in a loongg time playing genshin. I usually wish for a character, play for a few minutes, then stop and quit the game but when I got heizou I played for 3 hours straight cus of how fun he is 😭 he is such a fresh character and I really do hope they make more characters like him :>

I got Heizou from a one pull because I had no idea what I was doing. I became a Heizou main because I loved his design and playstyle. After a week of playing I wanted to make Heizou stronger and better, thats how I found this guide. It has helped me a lot and now I know how to actually play Heizou so thank you so much. He’s one of the most fun characters I could ever get and you helped me to make him even more fun and good
Glad to see I understood his kit properly. I overestimated the value of EM on him, but I still suspected ATK/Anemo/CRIT was the better build. I might want to change his weapon after all, though 😅I slapped Mappa Mare on him because I stopped using it and so it was free, but I might get a second Widsith built or swap in someone else's weapon for him. Maybe I'll be lucky and get a 5 star catalyst for him :)
heizhous dmg is INSANE, i used my venti's artifs on him (he has like 400+ em after that) and used xiangling for em reaction, HE DID 700-5K DMG! he's lvl 40 and a lvl 40 mappa mare. im trying to get him his own artifacts rn too lol
Heizou is also one of the lowest investment healer you can get! This isn't a build that's _recommended_ but it can still work. Heizou and Ningguang are the only catalysts that have 12cd 40energy bursts. Heizou can also use Viridescent set so you can get both.
@@ZedekiahNS Yes, Prototype Amber allows any Catalyst to heal the party every burst based on a percentage of their max health. The healing is worse than a built healer but unlike most healers, Prototype Amber heals the team regardless of who's on field which is why I still use it rather than Jean, Barbara, or Diona if I ever want a reliable healer. The heal also only scales on Weapon Refinements and the character being healed's max hp. So you can put whatever artifacts you want on the user and they'll still heal the same unlike the others who need good artifacts.
I got him in 9 pulls. He’s so fun to play. I’m going to hold off upgrading him too much since Yoimiya uses the same skill books and I’m not sure if I wanna pull for her just yet.
i got my heizou and its freaking OP i just leveled it up to 50 and some not really complete VV artifacts and mappa mare as a weapon.. my damage scale is almost 20k
I think another largely underrated and overlooked plus about heizou is his stun rate, this guy doesn't need healing because the enemy never fights back. 😂

Do a Sucrose vs Heizou like Venti VS Kazuha. I think In case of being a driver in Beidou's taser team Sucrose still stronger because of it's burst being bigger aoe, longer in duration and cc and with Beidou's team you want the many enemy vs single enemy in which is Heizou's strong point his skill dmg.
Sucrose Taser is too specialize in multiple minions situation. Heizou Taser is good alternative choice if we face situation like double geovishap or ruin sentinel gang. I don’t think either one is stronger.
I use the 4-piece thundering fury set and took him to level 90 c0. Along with c0 Kazuha EM, C6 fischl (she drops so many times for me it's crazy), and C4 Xingqiu. It's absolutely insane how fast the damage all adds up, even though all of them have 4* weapons
He said EM isn't that good, but the weapon ranking assumes Tazer is only used with EM build and the Crit build has to have Bennet, would Sara work instead, without losing damage?
I agree the standard atk/element/crit build is the best. He is not very good at swirling groups of enemies and his personal damage output is hurt alot by going full EM if you are not swirling. The huge scalings on his skill becomes irrelevant when swirling
He is very fun. I'm a bit bitter than my signature Ethonra Luck kicked in while attempting to get him. Instead of the 4 Star I wanted, on my very first pull got a 5 Star instead. 🙃

I didn't get Kazuha in the banner pulls, so as copium, my boy Heizou will be throwing hands with all my resources and investment instead. Yelan, Fischl and Bennett are ready!
Finally, I can now have a good Xiao support. My 1st team is the 4* sucrose taser team, but I kept fighting over sucrose (TTDS) for my xiao team. Now Heizou will be a glorified quick swap for TTDS/ battery for xiao until I can replace Sucrose with Heizou in the taser team.
Ok I got Heizou last time Kazuha had a rerun but couldn’t be bothered to get the onikabuto for him so he just sat there Recently gathered the patience to look for onikabuto (annoying even when I was using hoyolab) Hes currently lvl 70 but at the time I was using 4pc vv that revolved around EM and the Mappa Mare I later realised Heizou could do more damage with anemo alone So I switched to 2pc vv and 2pc of scaras set (can’t remember what it’s called something pavilion) and gave him the Skyward atlas as I had it lying around Didn’t have enough lvl up materials so it’s only lvl 66 Long story short he does 60k with crit…. That’s my highest.. More than my lvl 90 characters

His burst only needs 40 energy. Only when bursts cost 70+ energy is when you need any ER or a battery character.

It's just so satisfying to chain his normal attacks, charged attacks, burst, and skill; it's the very opposite of the clunkiness associated with catalyst users. The non-stop swirling and VV shred also reminds me of Avatar Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Since he doesn't have as much crowd control as the other anemo characters (specif. Sucrose, Kazuha, Venti), slapping a Lost Prayer on him lets him run around much faster and it really highlights his fast-paced gameplay.
I feel like heizou having an underwhelming crowd control is pretty understandable tbh since most enemies in the spiral abyss are heavy af anyway.

You clearly haven't played Yanfei. Her animations are so much smoother than previous catalysts (I've played and mained many of them). She was the best animation wise until Heizhou was released.
@@sommerblume9671 You missed the point though, they were talking about both fun to play melee combat and smoothness which is what heizou is. Not everyone likes yanfei's generic catalyst long range attacks.

It's interesting to me how many Anemo characters have a talent or constellation that gives them energy recharge (Aether, Xiao), or refunds some energy after their burst (Jean, Venti, Heizou). Electro is considered the "energy" element, but Anemo seems to have that quality as well. Albeit with a much more selfish spin.
They all also have exploration type passives (or at least the bois). Gliding for Venti, Climbing for Xiao, sprinting for both Heizou and Kazuha :D
and reduce anemo resistance (venti C2, 4 and 6, c4 jean and C6 Traveller)
yeah well most, but not all anemo characters dont get a lot of energy from their skill anyway, so it is kinda a quality of life to have something like that so they can actually use bursts
Because usually you are running only one anemo character in the team, so adding some energy restoration is kinda thoughtful

I feel like one style of Heizou you overlooked is as a quickswap nuke, which is how I feel he is designed. With C1, you can swap in, do a quick N1C, cast your burst, then use your skill with full stacks. After that, his A4 is triggered for the rest of you team. The fact that his skill, A4, and C1 are all on a 10 second cooldown makes it seem like he's perfect to swap in every 10 seconds for quick damage, then buff your other characters.
Sucrose does it better
@@kaingates Sucrose provides better buffs and grouping, Heizou does a lot more personal damage. It comes down to preferences and team needs.
Since I don't have a Xiao to be my Anemo main dps, Heizou will fill in. He really is fun to play and his air punches and kicks are so cool. Can't wait to have him well built and gonna team him with Beidou, Kuki and XQ.
I love Heizou so so much. Using him with Thoma's burst, Water dudes burst as well, and the Kuki's E makes him a reaction menace. Its just so fun to watch all of the reactions go off all the time.

I've had a crazy idea about Heizou's passive talent. For those who don't have Kazuha, you can still use Heizou as support but you have to use his ult regularly, so you have to make him have a higher ER (200 ER should be fine). And then after his ult, you can use every dps character you want for a better EM for these last 10 seconds.

Very excited to build this character! Kazuha has been my favorite character since the day he was released because I found him so much fun to play. While testing Heizou in his trial I felt that same excitement. I don't think any character will beat Kazuha for me, or at least not for a very long time, but I am still very hyped to play Heizou!
He's what a new character should be cus instead of being more poweful than previous characters, he is just more fun to play.
I hope we get more characters with basic attacks like him because honestly it looks amazing

I get why people compare him to sucrose but imo he’s just a single target sucrose. So if I’m running AOE sucrose taser with beidou etc or if it’s floor 12 bosses I’m running heizou with fishl xingqui yelan etc
Yeah, he's the offensive version of sucrose. Sucrose is a supportive type thanks to her EM sharing.
In most early analysis on him I e seen that is the one situation where he’s as good or better then sucrose single target taser ie heizo fischl yelan xingqiu. Tho the fact that he’s melee could make some boss situations still better on sucrose.
I mean every team he's good Sucrose is better, the one instance he's better Xiao exists, theres no reason to play Heizou in Taser if you have Sucrose, Ayato or Kokomi who are better drivers, yes Kokomi's DPS is better than Heizou's a well invested Kokomi will hit 10K per auto while a well invested Heizou 3-4K, yes Heizou will hit a big number like 40-60K without buffs because no Bennett in Taser, but Kokomi will deal 27K every 3 seconds with the clam set.

It’s like what’s better xiangling tornado hitting 40k from sucrose buff or xiangling hitting only 30k butt you get heizou’s personal damage as well. It think it’s closer than ppl think
The difference is that Sucrose mainly works with EM focused builds and does damage with swirl, while Heizou is used for his much higher talent values in a crit focused build.
kuki feels like a good fit if you want some comfy gameplay with heizou. i have just put some temp artifacts and am running him with kuki, fischl and xingqiu. it works well enough if you don't want to sweat hard without a healer
Heizou can maintain all 3 stacks of Kagura's verity thus providing him with 36% elemental skill damage and 12% elemental damage bonus.
whenever you say "anemo damage" I just hear "an emo damage" and imagine heizou playing a g note as an attack. it definitely improved the video
I really like him so far but I really wish they lower the cooldown on his E. The bulk of his damage comes from that but it’s single hit and has an 8s cooldown, which feels like a lot
Its actually pretty balanced. If it was any lower we'd have another broken 4* however Chongyun should help a bit with it.

Not really relevant to the video but just some more general info about Heizou, the last kick in his normal attacks is a c540 or bolley kick, the proper name for his charged attack is standing flash kick, and his burst is another c540, just looks super jank because its animated so that the rotation is fast and doesn't connect with the kick well because he floats in the air for a second before actually finishing the kick.
i've been expecting him for months but couldn't prefarm bc i'm busy but i had a ton of already leveled VV pieces because of Xiao/Venti/Kazoo so he got home, got to level 50 and talents 4/4/4 and was immediately sent to floor 12 with Xingqiu, Beidou and Shinobu (i can't live without a healer) and it was so much fun despite the lack of stars lol, the most fun i've had in genshin since forever, can't wait to fully build him qwq
i've always wanted to run an anemo taser team but just really don't like sucrose but now my time has come

Anemo is my 2nd favorite element right behind Geo but it's really because Venti is so smooth, Kazuha is the funnest character and strongest and Heizou is now just SO much fun. I could punch shit for days.
I got him to 90 with 9/10/9 talents and I don't regret it. He's just such a fun taser. Is he the most gamebreaking meta character? Not at all but I don't need him to be

I usually wish for a character, play for a few minutes, then stop and quit the game but when I got heizou I played for 3 hours straight cus of how fun he is 😭 he is such a fresh character and I really do hope they make more characters like him :>

I don’t know if you will see this but thank you so much for making this guide. I recently got back into Genshin after a year of not playing it. I got Heizou from a one pull because I had no idea what I was doing. I became a Heizou main because I loved his design and playstyle. After a week of playing I wanted to make Heizou stronger and better, thats how I found this guide. It has helped me a lot and now I know how to actually play Heizou so thank you so much. He’s one of the most fun characters I could ever get and you helped me to make him even more fun and good

Glad to see I understood his kit properly. I overestimated the value of EM on him, but I still suspected ATK/Anemo/CRIT was the better build. I might want to change his weapon after all, though 😅I slapped Mappa Mare on him because I stopped using it and so it was free, but I might get a second Widsith built or swap in someone else's weapon for him. Maybe I'll be lucky and get a 5 star catalyst for him :)
heizhous dmg is INSANE, i used my venti's artifs on him (he has like 400+ em after that) and used xiangling for em reaction, HE DID 700-5K DMG! he's lvl 40 and a lvl 40 mappa mare. im trying to get him his own artifacts rn too lol

Heizou is also one of the lowest investment healer you can get! This isn't a build that's _recommended_ but it can still work. Heizou and Ningguang are the only catalysts that have 12cd 40energy bursts. Heizou can also use Viridescent set so you can get both.

@@ZedekiahNS Yes, Prototype Amber allows any Catalyst to heal the party every burst based on a percentage of their max health. The healing is worse than a built healer but unlike most healers, Prototype Amber heals the team regardless of who's on field which is why I still use it rather than Jean, Barbara, or Diona if I ever want a reliable healer.
The heal also only scales on Weapon Refinements and the character being healed's max hp. So you can put whatever artifacts you want on the user and they'll still heal the same unlike the others who need good artifacts.

Do a Sucrose vs Heizou like Venti VS Kazuha. I think In case of being a driver in Beidou's taser team Sucrose still stronger because of it's burst being bigger aoe, longer in duration and cc and with Beidou's team you want the many enemy vs single enemy in which is Heizou's strong point his skill dmg.
Sucrose also provides range, AoE, and a huge buff to the team (even more at C6).
Sucrose Taser is too specialize in multiple minions situation. Heizou Taser is good alternative choice if we face situation like double geovishap or ruin sentinel gang. I don’t think either one is stronger.

I use the 4-piece thundering fury set and took him to level 90 c0. Along with c0 Kazuha EM, C6 fischl (she drops so many times for me it's crazy), and C4 Xingqiu. It's absolutely insane how fast the damage all adds up, even though all of them have 4* weapons

He said EM isn't that good, but the weapon ranking assumes Tazer is only used with EM build and the Crit build has to have Bennet, would Sara work instead, without losing damage?

I agree the standard atk/element/crit build is the best. He is not very good at swirling groups of enemies and his personal damage output is hurt alot by going full EM if you are not swirling. The huge scalings on his skill becomes irrelevant when swirling
He is very fun. I'm a bit bitter than my signature Ethonra Luck kicked in while attempting to get him. Instead of the 4 Star I wanted, on my very first pull got a 5 Star instead. 🙃

Finally, I can now have a good Xiao support. My 1st team is the 4* sucrose taser team, but I kept fighting over sucrose (TTDS) for my xiao team. Now Heizou will be a glorified quick swap for TTDS/ battery for xiao until I can replace Sucrose with Heizou in the taser team.

Ok I got Heizou last time Kazuha had a rerun but couldn’t be bothered to get the onikabuto for him so he just sat there
Recently gathered the patience to look for onikabuto (annoying even when I was using hoyolab)
Hes currently lvl 70 but at the time I was using 4pc vv that revolved around EM and the Mappa Mare
I later realised Heizou could do more damage with anemo alone
So I switched to 2pc vv and 2pc of scaras set (can’t remember what it’s called something pavilion) and gave him the Skyward atlas as I had it lying around
Didn’t have enough lvl up materials so it’s only lvl 66
Long story short he does 60k with crit….
That’s my highest..
More than my lvl 90 characters
