    I like the way and the speed you "talked" in this video ! It shows the person is very patient. Not only the knowledge you teach/share with others; but also reflect the personality... I have seen some CZcamsr talked so fast - and others don't know what they talked about; but NOT yours. You (at least) explained well.
    Thank you and 👍😇

    What a soothing experience listening to your video. I have been going NUTS trying to import from the SD card to PC Windows 10. Now I understand, BIG thanks. However, I do not want to use the Windows Photo app to edit or store my photos. If I install another simple photo editor, will it bypass the Windows app, or should I delete the Windows Photo app first. Thanks so much.

    • @4Keystone
      @4Keystone  Před 3 lety +1

      First, thanks for your very nice comment about your listening experience. I appreciate that. As for Windows Photo app, you would need to use the PowerShell to remove the photo app. Instead, I would recommend that you just change the default app for Photos. Simply search Default Apps and then click on Photo. A least of other apps will appear and you choose the one you want. (Naturally, this would be after you install the app you want to use if it's not on your machine already.) Any questions, feel free to get back to me. ~John

      Hi, Rosa! Thanks for your kind words. Yes, when your laptop doesn't have an SD card reader, you can plug in a hub with one. Your laptop will have USB ports and, if it's a new laptop, it probably has a USB-C port. You can get hubs for either of those types of ports. Here's an example: amzn.to/3vWmxCU. Hi 4KCC I found this very interesting and will take note and try, on my windows 7, I had an import program of which I have now lost on windows 10 from recent updates, now I have lost my original import camera import, it was so simple, but I have no idea what it was for it being such a long time in the past, a camera picture came upon the bottom, clicking this opened a panel on the top of the screen which said import photos and videos, also a panel on the bottom right came up were I could type in the days shoot, loading up my photos in Elements folder, Have you heard of this program. these updates from Microsoft keep changing My youtube, this tutorial of yours will it put my photos by date, etc to my ongoing file system, all I get when I click on my Canon camera they don't go to the bottom of my present list, I apologize for all my writings, it's just so annoying loosing my original program, I did enjoy your tutorial and will try it out. Many Thanks, welshman 2081

    • @4Keystone
      @4Keystone  Před 3 lety

      Yes, I understand completely the frustration of losing a program that worked the way you wanted it. Unfortunately, this happens often in the computing world. Sometimes, though, the changes happen for security reasons. Many program which relied on Adobe Flash have disappeared as Adobe Flash itself will at the end of the year. The best I can say is keeping moving forward. I'm confident you'll find a way to make it work in a way you are comfortable. Thanks so much for your comment, by the way. ~John

    • @4Keystone
      @4Keystone  Před 3 lety +2

      Tore...It is true that, sometimes, updates take away features that we like and that's a real pain for us. Usually, software companies, like Microsoft, take away features for one of two reasons: a) there's a security risk that's been uncovered; b) research shows that the feature is being used by few people. As for importing based on date-month-year, I haven't tried it recently but now that you have mentioned it, I will try it this week & see if there's an option. ~John

    Help!!! I’m back again. :(
    In Windows 7 I could do the following:
    (1) insert my sd card
    (2) choose to use either autoplay or to view in windows.
    (3) if I choose autoplay windows would then ask me what I wanted to name the file to which it would download the file. If I did not input a name, it defaulted to the date.
    (4) I could then go to my picture folder and find the newly created file and view all of the sd pictures in that one file.
    Why can I not do the same in windows 11? Maybe I can and I simply do not know how to do it properly.
    There has to be a better way than what I am having to do today which is:
    (1) set windows to automatically autoplay.
    (2) this then loads each of the individual pictures from my sd card into my picture folder.
    (3) then I create a new file folder within my picture folder.
    (4) then I drag all of my individual pictures into my newly created/named picture folder file.
    (5) now I can go to this single picture folder and view all of the sd pictures in one file folder.
    I could easily do all of the above in Windows 7 by simply: choosing autoplay…..and Windows 7 would automatically load all of the pictures into a “single” picture folder (using either the name that I assigned it or the present day’s date)
    Basically I am trying to figure out how to have windows11 automatically load all the pictures from my sd card into a “single” file under my picture folder. Help!!!!!!

      Got that figured out but wish I were still on Windows 7. Much easier for an old guy.
      Now I am trying to figure out how to give all of the pictures on an sd card the same name . Windows 7 would ask me before it started autoplay, then it would load then into my picture folder under that folder name.
      Oops…I see, on a Microsoft forum, that another guy has the same problem. Apparently, viewing all the responses, my only option is to manually rename every picture on the sd card, and then drag them all into a new folder under my picture folder…..assuming that I can still create additional folders.

    • @4Keystone
      @4Keystone  Před rokem

      Hi, Jerry! I'm glad you figured out how to make it work. As for renaming pictures, you could wait until you put them all into a new folder under your pictures and then rename rather than do that on the SD card. I do it that way because I always erase the pictures from the SD card after I've moved them to the computer. Plus, once they are often moved, I often find pictures that need deleted. I do that before renaming thus, hopefully, saving myself some work. Just an idea! ~John

      I never try to rename files on my sd card. Even though Windows 7 did have a function that allowed one to delete the sd card pictures, I never used it because it was so slow. I found that once I had saved the pictures on my laptop, it was much quicker just to format the card.

    I have Windows 10. I have none of the screens you show. I have screens that are kind of like that, but they don't take me to those places/choices.

      Hi, Debbie! Can you let me know which version of Windows 10 you have? I'm happy to help you but I need a little more info. (Need to find the version? Right-click on the Start Menu and choose RUN. Type "winver" (without the quotes) and then click OK. In the window that pops up, you should see the version. (Please forgive me if you already know how to find the version. Since I don't know you personally, I have no idea of your level of computer knowledge.) ~John

      Are you using Windows 10? If so, search "Autoplay" - without the quotations marks - and autoplay settings should come up at the top of the search results. ~John

      Actually, I'll be creating a new video in the next week showing how to import photos from an SD card to Windows 11. Yes, it's a little different. ~John

      Yes, amazingly, you're the first person to mention that after 52K views. I was aware of the slip-up but didn't want to remake the video. I figured most people would understand and, apparently, they have. ~John

      Sorry to hear that. But, that's the beauty of a video here - you can replay, stop, study and replay again as often as you like. If you have a specific question, feel free to comment here and ask. I'll do my best to "unconfuse" you! ~John
