For anyone wandering, even with the latest Patch cutscenes still exhibit inconsistent performance, I've made an unlisted video showcasing the performance of the first cutscene between the launch version and patch 1.3.55 : czcams.com/video/bwPC1BPlosk/video.html
We NEED A GHOST OF TSUSHIMA GUIDE PLEASE
I hope Ghost of Tsushima will have a good port
Judging by requirements it is complete shit, PS4 game requires same GPU (4080) as forbidden west to play in 4k, while graphics are obviously a lot shittier in Tsushima.
Personally I think it is bullshit though. Probably it will be very easy to run and people will praise the game for it, ignoring the fact that it is very outdated graphics-wise, as they did with uncharted 4
@@SunwishMaximal i thought i was the only one that felt like the sys req were quite high
@@SunwishMaximalUncharted 4 is not so easy to run actually. You need at least RTX 4070 Ti to run this game at native 4K. This GPU is usually 2.2x faster than PS5 APU.
But that game still looks gorgeus anyway, especially at 4K.
I think GoT will also need 4070 Ti for 4K/Max. They probably mentioned 4080 just to be on a safe side.
I mean is nixxes so yeah, it will at least for the most part. Just wait for some patches ans ur good to go.
All Nixxes pc ports are good, as long as you wait for a few patches (at least a month) most bugs and issues will be solved. Like the only thing to fix in this game is the cutscene fps drop, nvidia reflex implementation and data streaming on very high textures quality.
the texture update seems sweeeeet, thanks for the benchmark & comparison man
Good video, thanks for keeping us up to date.
Thank you for all your diligence.
Man, you have the best channel! Thank you! ❤
Love your videos mate. Keep it up.
Great video, Thanks!
Hello, thanks for your optimising guides. Helped me alot.
Rx6650xt user. Before the patch I used to use 7.5-7.7GB of Vram with High Textures.
After the patch, With high Texture it is sitting around 6.9-7.2Gb of Vram. While I noticed that the ram usage went up by 2 Gb.
Yep 100%. I’m surprised why most people are oblivious to this but Reflex still messes up the frametimes bad…like a camera judder. Glad you bring it up.
I suspect that's just the way it is since reducing latency means frametimes can vary per second
All nixxes pc ports have a bad reflex implementation and sadly they never fix it
@@miguelaraneta3144 nope every game with reflex is buttery smooth except this. Even the mother of all PC games cyberpunk 2077 is buttery smooth with on+boost.
I actually love this guy. Thank you for your hard work your community appreciates it
Reflex on + boost is working properly after the patch
On my 4080
Before the patch
Reflex on + boost locked my gpu utilization to 80%
Now it works properly giving me a 100% utilization
This is exactly why i wait months to play a game until it gets fully patched, bugfixed and potential performance stability improvements.
i think the NV reflex patch note is talking about how enabling on+boost caused your GPU usage to be capped at 80 something percent
Thank you for this type of video and the subtitles in portuguese br, i'm eagerly awaiting the video about ghost of tsushima
I also had bad frame time consistency at launch, but a full DDU wipe of the Nvidia driver and consequent reinstall of the same version fixed the issue for me.
Hey there, any performance improvements in Burning Shores area from the DLC? Thankyou, and great video!
"It's too late now for them to have released a texture streaming patch. I've already finished the base game and the DLC.
That's why I don't buy games on launch anymore. You pay more for worse version of the game.
You buy single player Sony games?@@mafioso12dk
At least, they fixed this issue. So many players can now get better gaming experience.
Some other devs do not even bother with fixing such major issues like this one at all.
Too late for you
I mean what's stopping you from replaying and doing a ultra hard play through or new game plus.
the King
Reflex On relies on your GPU especially if you have a CPU bottleneck and you play with locked fps. On+Boost relies more on your CPU especially if you are being GPU bounded. Generally in most cases you want to stick with On. In single player games you can just leave it disabled, no big deal.
Most games have a bad nvidia reflex implementation, I turn them off unless i notice some input latency
Problem is if u wanna use FG its on and lock so in horizon makes the game feels weird even with like 90 fps
@@mahdilj5882 The game is so buggish now if you want to use FG with upscaler. If you want that you can enable it with native res.
I wouldn't agree with just keeping it off for single player. It doesn't matter if it's single player or pvp, delay feels bad in any game. Just like low fps 🤔
(Obviously less severe than frames but maybe you get what I'm saying, 0 difference between what game it is, if it has aiming, it applies all the same)
Makes sense, explains why I get worse performance with boost.
That said, even just On does still add the same frametime inconsistency as seen in the video.
1.3.57.0 fixes the Nvidia Reflex issue for me, game is buttery smooth and looks amazing with Nukem's frame gen mod.
Cant wait for the official FSR 3.1 implementation
I can confirm the reflex issue for me too.
10th gen i5 +3080 10gig
Hi sir, wondering if you get terrible stuttering and pauses of nearly 1 second in Need for Speed Unbound? I even upgraded to 4070 Super and 5700X3D but still bad
hope they can improve the performance
fsr is always the worst options
waiting for your ghost of tsushima video not gonna play it until then
Hey, could you make a video about optimization of another underrated Remedy's game - Quantum Break?
What is your channel category? ( Gaming - technology or ....)
So is better to use xess than fsr if you have an amd gpu
Thank you for your regular benchmark. How can I get 1% low, D3D12 fps and Average fps with RTSS? If I enable fps in RTSS it doesn't display real time fps in the overlay
First you should make sure that all the framerate options that you want to show are enabled in the monitoring tab with "Show in On-Screen Display" checked, this will give you the real time fps(D3D12) and to get other metrics like avg,1% and 0.1% you might need to start benchmarking , you can go to Benchmark tab to see which hotkey "begin recording" and which one end it.
and if you want to get these metrics without Benchmarking, go to Riva -> Setup -> Statistics to go to percentile buffer tab and select 'ring'.
@@benchmarking4386 Thank you! It will help to chose best setting so I get 30 fps for 1% low on my specs
Ghost of Tsushima waitng for me!!!!!!
Playing on 7900XTX, at launch the FPS is around 110+, with the latest patch it's 130+
How about cutscene issue? Still dropping fps?
Yes. This update doesn't fix nothing of that.
Nope, I'm gonna keep waiting until they officially fix nvidia reflex, cutscene fps drops, burning shore dlc performance and FSR 3.1 implementation. At that level you are playing a whole different game
ad launch it wass a good pc p
ort now its a very good pc port
Absolutely gorgeous game, really tried to like it but just couldn't do it
Ghost of Tsushima optimized settings bro please upload fast!!
Having reflex on is super unstable for me too.
can you please use amd gpus for optimization???
you should meet panam, with nvidia reflex on😛
Greetings. Thank you for keeping us informed about updates, you are the best benchmarking. I don't know if this happens to anyone else and it has been impossible for me to play the DLC: Burning shores, both with the previous version and with this new update. The game does not exceed 30-40 fps. no matter what settings you use: DLAA; DLSS-Quality. Note: I played the entire campaign without much problem (70-110 fps using DLSS in quality, although many times I had performance loss when I had been playing for more than 1 hour and I had to restart for it to be fixed. My PC: RTX 3070 Ryzen 5 5600x 32gb RAM - 3600MHZ (Windows 10 Pro)
vram usage is higher in burning shores i believe, try turning down textures and especially clouds since they are rendered differently in the dlc
This seems like a memory leak or Vram issue, I've seen a lot of users specially those with 8gb GPUs suffering from this problem.
Try lowering Textures to Medium and monitor your Vram and Ram usage while you're playing.
Also The Clouds in the dlc are more demanding, make sure to use Low or Medium Cloud Quality.
Good luck.
Belive me just set the shadow quality to medium and you will get more fps brother i have same card 3070 and i had trouble with vram usage but as soon i set the shadow quality to medium i am getting 70 fps and more at DLC
@@benchmarking4386no need to lower the texture just the shadow to medium and you will get the best visuals and performance
@@yes-gn4kn I always monitor vram usage with Msi Afterburner and it never exceeds 7.6GB. I'll try lowering the quality of the textures even more to see how it goes, thanks.
Will you make video on Ghost of tsushima pls
The fps drop involving lots of npc is still there in my experience, high textures with med shadows, though Xess ultra quality plus and Xess AA is a nice addition, at this point i think i have to accept that 8gb is just ain't enough with high textures in latest AAA, and this is without RT involved, sad but that's just the reality...
I do have 6gb vram (3060 laptop) and what you said is partially true, but lately the gap between high and ultra is so low it ain't worth it, 8gb are still enough for 1080/1440 just individually optimize your games graphics settings with your vram budget and raw performance with these videos and you are fine
I think the fps drops relating to lots of NPCs might relate to the CPU, I think there's a setting called Crowd Quality
I upgraded my ram to 32gb 3200 and still face this issue. It's the game.
I have 6650 xt, 5700x and 32 gb ram and still cant play on high texture. After 30 sek fps drops to 20-35, power usage drops to 70 W.
Hey King are you gonna to do a new Dead Island 2 review? Now that is on steam the stuttering are killing me. Thanks!
Stuttering? That's odd because, if I recall correctly, Dead Island 2 is one of the few 2023 UE4 games with minimal amount of stuttering, alongside Atomic Heart.
I'm not entirely sure if I can cover it again, but I'll investigate. If there are significant changes in settings and performance, I'll consider making a new video, no promises though.
I noticed that the stuttering get even worse with High or Ultra textures. With Medium textures it does reduce a bit but what is the point? You can do Ultra settings with high fps perfectly fine but with Medium textures. That's a bummer actually. On AMD card, it can eat up to 9GB on 1080p. That's crazy.
Waiting for Ghost of Tsushima vid!
Hi benchmarking, sorry if I'm writing to you here but I don't know where else to do it, I blindly trust your guides so much so that every time I play a game I hope for a possible video from you about it. Given this, I wanted to ask you if you could make a video about Ghost of Tsushima, maybe it was already in your plans but I wanted to make sure since as I previously said "I play better because of your videos".
Hi
I'm working on it.
Hopefully, the video will be available this weekend.
@@benchmarking4386 thank you so much, you are undoubtedly the best
Streaming textures means that textures will streaming from internet servers? As Cod Modern Warfare 2? Or im wrong?
No, texture Streaming has nothing to do with servers nor internet.
No it means the textures dynamically change quality depending on how far they ate away and if the camera is looking at it or not
Did Nixxes fixed massive FPS drops in cutscenes with this patch?
Commenting here so I get a noti for the answer to this.
To be honest, I haven't checked any cutscenes with this new version. I'll check tomorrow and get back to you.
One thing to keep in mind, though: cutscenes in this game use better quality visuals compared to normal gameplay, such as better Models and Depth of Field, which is why they tend to perform worse.
@@benchmarking4386 I turned depth of field off (not the greatest fan on it) and still get the issue. I have 10GB vram. Having it on highest textures during a cutscene it would drop fps dramatically as if I ran out of VRAM (even though RTSS said it was 8/10 used still). Going to high stopped the issue but the texture quality actually looks pretty bad on high (or did I haven’t seen it in this new update).
Still there i'm afraid, using High textures, medium shadows and xess AA with no upscaling, running around then teleporting to different region and my fps drop to low 30s even sometime low 20s, restarted and the same cutscene will run fine 60-70fps.
@@tomthomas3499 RIP seems like I’ll be sticking to high. Wonder what it takes (vram) to run ultra textures without those cutscenes dying.
Anyone knows what causes the reason of sudden fps drop? Like when inside plainsong im having an fps lock of 72. I capped that fps for freesync. But when i to outside specifically in blight it fps drops to 60-50fps also when i get interacted with water. Im using r7 5700x+rx6600 and 16gb ram 3200mhz.
It's the game's trashy optimization. They can't seem to fix that issue.
BROOOOOOOOOOOOOO, CAN YOU PLEASE DO A OPTIMIZATION VID ON GHOST OF TSUSHIMA THIS WEEK COZ I REALLY WANT TO PLAY IT AND YOUR OPTIMIZATION VIDEOS IS THE ONLY THING THAT I WATCH ON CZcams! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🔥🔥🔥
Of course, I will cover it 😉
thank you so much! I'm waiting! 🫶🏼
The best in the world
Can you do a guide for "Rust"
since the new update my game gets fps hiccups even tho im running on 150 fps plus.
What resolution do you use?
1440p
Please bring Forza Horizon 5... I think that it's one of main games when testing pc performance and having a optimization video would be essential
