Also, as heard in the video, many of these mega donors that went to the CEO gathering do not want to be identified. We know a few but do we know all. We don't do DEI because it's the right thing to do. We implement DEI because it creates stronger and more innovative cultures that result in greater revenue recognition when done correctly. Understanding how to leverage different perspectives for a more successful strategic roadmap for increased revenues and greater efficiencies while delivering greater value to customers is the goal of DEI.

It's essentially a program that many corporations adopt to create a more welcoming environment of peoples of all races, genders, etc. It sometimes can seem a little fru fru to some, and perhaps in some implementations of it, it is. But to an astute strategist, it can be a business enhancing construct of resource infrastructure beyond its optics. The key principle behind it is, 'if you put like people together, you get like ideas. If you put people with different vantage points and living experiences together, you get greater insight into strategies that reach larger pools of people either through products, services or any general value add.' An actual DEI Manager would likely balk at my description of it as it has many other great cultural benefits but it is indeed a tool that can be used to promote valued added growth if a strategy around it is created to do so.

A lot of people were reluctant to tell pollsters that they were going to be voting for Trump the last time around. Now it seems that many Republicans who no longer support Trump are now thinking that voting for Biden would be the smarter thing to do this time, in their opinion, and in my humble opinion, too, though they may not wish to say this publicly at the moment.

Right again Sorkin, these companies made a lot of overtures pledging to promote DEI efforts because they were under pressure to do so. It was a knee-jerk reaction in a way, and they were concerned about their bottom line. These companies used it as a way to get attract more Black and Brown customers, with no real intention to promote DEI hiring efforts. In fact, many companies have since shuttered their DEI offices and got rid of DEI execs.
