Abandoned Homestead In The Mountains - Nevada

- You can find some amazing things down rugged, dusty, forgotten roads. That is precisely why we take them instead of freeways.
On this occasion, like most, it did not disappoint. At this secret location, we discovered an abandoned homestead. A cabin provides shelter for the night, an outside shower with clean water, and even a corral.
We found this homestead in great shape, having been kept up by volunteers and those with enough pride and dignity to pick up after themselves.
If you happen to find this location, please keep it well preserved and clean for future travellers.

Many times places like this, old ranches or farmsteads, were taken over by the U.S. Government under “Eminent Domain” which is a sly way to devalue an owner’s property and refuse to allow them to hold ownership.
This place looks like a staging area for a riding club or a pack train guide service.
Enjoyed this one, and all the other's I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching we really do appreciate it very much!
I've always been fascinated by the west, I live and grew up on lake Erie, and love it, but the west is amazing, I've been to Nevada 5 times, and really love the mountains and desert.
There’s something so romanticized about the desert that draws us in. We hope we’ve inspired you to revisit the west and put more pins in your atlas
@@PinInTheAtlas I will definitely head back out west, hopefully within the next 3 years.
Thanks for another great adventure
I used to live not to far from there and I have helped gather cattle in those corrals. I have actually stayed in the old homestead
Wow, that would have been impressive to see back then. Thanks for sharing, Chance.
Wasn't that long ago
We have not given out this location for obvious reasons. Too many vandals and people leaving their rubbish.

Really nice video
Thank you guys
Thank you Luis. Glad you enjoyed it. We post new content every Tuesday. Hope you join us on our next adventure.
The views are pretty cool and the solitude, thanks for posting 👍😁🇺🇸
You’re welcome Pepe. Glad you enjoyed our pin
What a neat area and rock cabin. So quiet and peaceful!
Another fun adventure. Thanks for the post. I think I looked at this property from satellite photos once when I was looking for property being sold in the area.
Thank you for watching!
What a find! Thank you for sharing...love these old dwellings. Nice job!
Thank you JP, we are glad you enjoyed it!
I love your channel!!
Thank you so much!!
Quite of few these remotrplaces are kept a secret in Nevada are for locals only. Same in DV and black rock desert we love our state battle born Nevada 🇺🇲🇺🇲🪖
Exactly why we don’t give out the name or the location. The volunteers do an amazing job of taking care. Of these historical places.
Everything a person needs is there. It's surprising how little a person really need to be happy and content. I would love to live there, beautiful place.
Yes exactly, well said! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Many of the remote desert places could be made very livable, if it weren't for naer-do-wells destroying what other people build. I wonder if some people think they are doing nature a favor by forcing people to abandon their cabins.
great videos. . . watching from the philippines
Thank you!
I'm thinking the box next to the door is a kindling crib for the wood stove. just a guess.. great channel you guys have. thanks much. ...happy trails always....
Never thought of that! Thank you for the compliment and for watching!
the railroad ties and pit was the location of the pooper...
Rail wood tie area a lattrine? Nice explore.
So beautiful!! I so dig the old things
Glad you like them!
Don't want to trash it. But s place to camp at and maybe help to restore. Nice place.
Great place to go horse riding. Another great video, Pinned that one.
Thanks, Richard! We're glad you're putting more pins in your atlas!

Thank you for clearly showing the water source. Hopefully as wireless/solar/motion-detect security cameras keep getting better and less expensive, vandals will no longer remain uncaught after multiple pics of their vehicle and license plate get sent before they even know it.
Yeah, can’t wait to live in a police state 🙄
That’s a working ranch
They got a good Corral
always wonder where the electricity comes from
2nd time viewing this. Love the cabin which could be used as a volunteer cabin if updated and also the corral, bring your horse and ride on out.
It was such a cool spot the locals told us check out. We are glad we did.
No out house? Great find!
We thought that was odd also, we couldn't find one. Thank you!
Someone was doing some blasting in that cave
*Somewhere in neveda...*
Just found ya'll. Great content Keep up the great work.My dream is to do what the both of you are doing.Me and my wife would love to be able to travel and vlog.We were able to take off a month last year and head on a 7000 mile trip across the country and back home in S.C.
Now that is one heck of a road trip John. We love doing this although it does have its moments. Why wait to vlog. Just do small trips and days out. See if it’s something you really want to do. You can always email us for advice although we are learning all the time and have made many mistakes along the way.
Looking forward to exploring SC if you have any suggestions please send them via email.
Hope you continue to enjoy our adventures.
@@PinInTheAtlas I did alot of real time vlogs with my cell phone and just bought my first go pro I love vlogging I'm just not good with computers so that fear keeps stopping me in my footsteps. So I just do little videos on Facebook from time to time.My wife is really supportive and wants me to start a channel but I'm feel like my daily life isn't very interesting lol
@@PinInTheAtlas oh also on our trip we had a recall on my wife's suv that we didn't know about and we blew our engine with nine camper in tow in Buena Vista,Colorado. It took them 9 weeks to get a replacement engine and I had to make another trip from S.C to get her car.Our dream trip turned into a very expensive one lol
WOW ,I LOVE IT THIS IS FOR SALE ?
Not as far as we know!
I agree don’t vandal and clean up after yourself. These places need to be preserved. Great find
Yes they do, Thanks Paula!
Cool video, enjoy watching from alabama
👍👍👍👍
You have made your videos very intriguing. I feel I am walking with you looking at everything. I could very much live out there in the middle of nowhere. I always wished I lived back in the late 1800s, where I could rough it. My only fear are rattlesnakes and what I would do if I saw one. Thank you so much for taking the time and explaining everything. You are doing a fine job.
We truly appreciate that it means a lot! We are so very happy you are enjoying our content. We love going out spending time with nature roughing it finding these places! My biggest fear when we are out exploring is very large spiders! I freak out big time! Thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel!
@@PinInTheAtlas Oh my goodness, never gave spiders a thought.
@@redbird675 Had an experience in Mississippi, where we pulled in to camp for the night and turned out to be spider infested, I flipped out and Andrea died laughing at me. Needless to say we camped somewhere else that night!
@@PinInTheAtlas Hope you didn't have any bed partners.
@@redbird675 Thankfully no! Got out of there as fast as we could to make sure they didn't get the chance to get in!
Lighting, refer looks like propane..... like your videos.......
How is the pump powered?
Not sure. There is a natural spring at the top, as far as we can tell.
How lucky you are to be out camping and exploring 👍. I thank you for not giving the location.
Do the sheep come down and drink also
We believe so because there were animal tracks and scat nearby.
Hopefully no amateur satanists/luciferians ever find the place and paint their symbols everywhere and make it haunted.
We certainly wouldn't want that to happen, Giulio.
Why not just live in the cave easier?
The climb up isn’t easier plus too open to the elements.
They've done a lot of work so people can come enjoy it but we're not telling you where it is? Hmmm. It's on public land, no? So only a few people can enjoy it is what you should've said, even though it's public land, which means it's open to everyone. God forbid everyone be able to stay somewhere that's decent with water. And, btw, It's illegal to lock up any of these old properties that aren't privately owned on BLM land. Anyone can call BLM and they will cut any lock. They could simply ask people to be respectful, or build on their own land, not fix up public property then try to keep others away.
Don't mean to be the party pooper here but individuals cannot claim ownership, in any fashion whatsoever, on public land. It is what it is.
Nobody has claimed ownership of this property and nobody has "locked" it. We just closed it as we found it because unfortunately too many places like this are being looted and destroyed.
@@PinInTheAtlas, I appreciate you keeping it private! Too many thieves out here.
@@MexIndio1 We totally agree!
You certainly can claim ownership of public land. It's called a mining claim and it appears that is how this little operation started. At some time it morphed into a cattle line camp. In any case it is a sweet little setup.
We believe that you can claim the mineral rights but not the land rights. At least that is what we’ve been told. Thanks for your input.

Doghouse
When the lies that want to live in it
Miles in the middle of nowhere!
So you find these lands in a banded, homestead skinny buddy, go claim them
Most are on public lands these days RJ. Sometimes you can still put a mining claim in but that’s only for the mineral rights not the land.
