At the front of the warehouse, you could have a focus wall made of the reclaimed barn wood and then put all the antiques on display in front of it. That along with a document or plaque explaining the history of the homestead would be like having a mini museum and would preserve the items historically. Also, don’t forget to take pictures before you tear down buildings also to go on the wall.

I knew immediately what that pocket fisherman was. I remember TV commercials for that when I was young. Also that shopsmith is worth a great deal even if just for parts to repair or refurbish other old models like that. Maybe you could hold a “Make an offer sale” and let people come to salvage what they want and make you an offer on lots of stuff. Would be better than it going to landfill or scrapped.

A lot of the older World War II veterans were also survivors of the Great Depression, as my Father was. He did save everything, but he was also a neat freak, so our garage was very organized and labeled. He knew exactly where everything was and always used from his saved things before buying new. He was an orphan and a young teen trying to finish High School working nights as a dish washer in a restaurant and living in a boarding house. When the depression happened, his restaurant closed, so he lost his income and his room, no more High School. He finished High School after he retired and even went to College. The band saw attachment was on the tool, and if he bought it, there may be a jointer attachment as well. The machine will convert to each tool setup in a matter of minutes, and might be useful making tables, shelving, and dividing walls for the warehouse. Congratulations .. great property for a warehouse !! Will take time, but Dejay’s mom and it appears Weston is a scavenger hunter too !! A shop smith used to be a thing for those who made woodwork !! And the pocket fisherman was popular back in the day ! Can’t wait for some of the finds you come across there !

That is an amazing farmstead and historical. I suggest that you pull out everything that is useable and if Deejays mom doesn't want it, offer it online or list it somehow. Back in the old days we put a sign out and let the townfolk come look at the items. Like I said it's historical. Someone is gonna love it.

Lovely place. Save those antiques. Do keep some fruit trees, berries and vegetables going here too. Congratulations Nice place....all the blessing from your ancestors are with you....and good wishes to you all on acquiring a historical property that means so much to you all. Pray that the business thrives and the warehouse is put to full use for years to come. A suggestion for the warehouse name "Arms historical storage and despatch Centre"

Shop Smith is a CLASSIC. My father-in-law used one several years ago, our son chose it as his inheritance when ‘Grandad’ passed. Our Son did special woodworking on it for several years, once he upgraded with a few parts. Someone will be interested in it - just post for sell.

As kids in the 1970s my brother, sister and I, we each had our own Ron Popeil Pocket Fishman. The Pocket Fishman was developed in 1963 and sold on TV for $19.99 throughout the 1970s. The fishing pole was a little wonky at times, but for us kids they were small, easily carried on our bikes and great fun - not having full sized fishing poles, get tangled up in our bike wheels, allowed us to survive childhood, lol. Today Pocket Fishman sell for between $20 - $30, and I saw some one selling a vintage unit for $79.95 on Ebay. I'll buy that Pocket Fishman-it brings back great memories.

You’d be surprised what most of that stuff is worth, you may see junk but others don’t, old tools, lumber, furniture, clothes so much more are collectibles.
If she doesn’t take everything out of the house maybe Weston could work on selling it on Facebook or EBay. Just thinking.
Congratulations I’m so excited to see the progress ❤

Depending on the condition of that old shop Smith they are some what valuable. The can be converted into a table saw , lathe, jointer, bandsaw etc just by switching around some attachments and each run on a certain rpm that the machine has settings for. The pulley system is ingenious in the way it is able to convert to less or more rpms. Worth looking into. Also that pocket fisherman used to be on t.v. commercials for years and was a common Xmas gift like the chia pet. Lol.

The pocket fisherman can be used to catch fish, was nice to use when going for a bicycle ride. I used one when I was a teen in the late 70s to early 80s. The old wagon wheel rings make good forms for steppingstones. Old barn wood is worth $ because people like to do interior work with it.
