      It's not really her tears but yes you are correct that the flowers are synonymous with Zelda. In fact that is literally the entire point of the plot of BotW and why it ends with a pan out towards one of those flowers afte we you beat Ganon.
      Basically 100 years ago they were rare because Zelda herself was being supressed by her father and were even rare in the BotW because she was busy supressing the Calamity.
      Now though in Tears of the Kingdom she's lived about 5 to 7 years freely and doing what she wants and therefore she, and by extension the flowers, have flourished. That's why in TotK they're not uncommon at all and can be found basically anywhere with any connection to Zelda.

      TBF, he was pushing her because if she failed, pretty much everyone would die. He probably felt that he could not be a king that protects Hyrule and a good father at the same time. In his private diaries he mentions how proud he was of Zelda and how he was going to finally treat her like a daughter even if she failed her final test, sadly that was the day of calamity. This does not make up for anything, I realize. But I also don't feel like he was just a one-dimensional bad parent.

      You really need to read the King's diary from Botw.
      He hurt a lot inside. He didn't like treating her like that, but he felt cornered, like he had no choice, because otherwise, the entire world would end. He was gonna make amends, and tell her it's okay and support her... Unfortunately, he took that decision the day the Calamity hit, and he never could.
      He's actually a very tragic character. He died with so many regrets, always trying his hardest, and he could not even give his daughter a proper goodbye.

    God, this storyline was amazing. I regret getting the Master Sword before I finished it, but the gut punch when I realized what the Dragon was almost makes up for it. I didn’t realize until literally the next to last memory.

Then I met up with Mineru much later on, and when in the memory she mentioned draconification, it all just clicked for me even though I hadn't seen any of the tears, and I just felt a cold chill, dread, and sadness wash over me as I realized I literally pulled the sword not from a dragon like I thought, but from Zelda herself

      @@EarnestGamer If Marin got her wish to become a seagull that implies too heavily that the island was "real" and that she and all of the islanders were not "just" dreams .
      So what was the wind fish lying or stupid and that he did not know he dreams magic super dreams ?
      You are also not proving that Marin wanted to be a seagull FOREVER .
      or that she was so callous as a person that she wanted to be a seagull even if that meant everyone else has to die .
      As if she never wanted to see Link again after she was done singing for all the far away lands .
      Also is not hyrule a far away land ?
      You are in the middle of the ocean "all" land is far away land .
      There is no legend of a magic singing seagull and ballet of the wind fish never plays in any of the other games to prove that the seagull ending is the real one .
      Which means if you wanted to make a "it's just a dream" story then there should have been no wind fish at the end .
      You hit your head and had a dream that's it Link wakes up and paddles back to hyrule .
      You don't even see Link make it back to hyrule and that was like the whole point of the game .
      For all we know Link dies on the raft ether way and the only difference is whether or not he is awake or asleep when he dies .
      Also WHAT does the wind fish even dooooo ?
      What great disaster is going to befall hyrule if he does not wake up ?
      The nightmares only seem to want the island not destroyed .
      There is no part 2 of their plan .

      You're missing the point of the scene though. The last memory isn't supposed to be some dramatic revelation, it's showing Zelda coming to the decision to sacrifice herself for the greater good. We knew the method already (Mineru tells Zelda), we knew the outcome already (we see her during the post-jump title screen) so what needed to be shown was her actually steeling herself for what she was bound to do. I love this game, but what honestly pissed me off, was that Link didn't have a god damn reaction AT ALL towards finding out the truth.
    I know the reason why he is silent and doesn't express his emotions, but those are for the sake of others, THERE IS NO ONE THERE!! There is literally not a single logical reason to why he is stone facing this moment, if anything, it just made me feel like Link is a heartless bastard, or like a mindless drone who only follows orders and cannot think for himself.
    Which just makes me believe that Major Link's The Legend of Zelda Hero's Purpose to be true, where Link is blindly following whims of the goddess and has no actual control over his life.

    • @leon4000
      @leon4000 Před 13 dny

      Hero's Purpose is also non-canon, only based off hearsays and other things people overread into.
      I will say that the devs should have had Link show emotion at this part. After all, he was searching for Zelda only to find that she was in the sky watching over him all this time!
      Stone faced he is, we can't forget the his mind is a different place. He must have been going through plenty emotions. Just because someone doesn't show emotion for some reason doesn't mean he doesn't have them. Especially that he's shown shock, anger, and other things in game. It just shows how committed he is in letting action speaks more than words could.
      I know protagonists who isn't any different than Link and they still got some respect to their name.

    When it first clicked for me that Zelda turned herself into the 4th dragon(the realization happened before seeing the last dragon tear), I was upset. I thought, "First Link lost Mipha, and now Zelda." Granted, she wasn't dead, but we were lead to believe that she no longer remembered her life and identity as Princess Zelda.
    That, and of course, the fact that the game through plot convenience turned her back to normal. We were told that draconification is irreversible. It was also weird that Ganondorf's tear was visible on his forehead after the transformation, allowing us to attack it and as a result kill Demon Dragon Ganondorf. So much for immortality.
    On the bright side, Link does get Zelda back, even if slaying Ganondorf without breaking Demise's Curse means that the cycle will continue.

    • @davidmh2171995
      @davidmh2171995 Před 11 měsíci +6

      I agree with you that the ending was pure plot convenience to allow them both to have a happy moment there at the end. I think it would have been better if the developers had left us with the dragon Zelda and the arm so we could have a true after-game world. Plus, they could have made a DLC where WE go around and follow Mineru's notes and such to find a way to return Zelda to Hylian, make it SO MUCH MORE impactful when we finally manage to change her back and then dive after her with the theme playing and all to catch her.
      With Ganondorf I think that because the stone wasn't truly his, just corrupted by him killing its wielder and taking it for himself, the stone didn't fully fuse with him thus giving us a way to kill him completely. Another thought I had was that Sonia's will somehow survived in the stone which is why it still had a subtle white glow under the red of Ganondorf and she helped at the end by keeping the stone from fully fusing with Ganondorf.

    • @darx7684

      Maybe they meant eternal life, not invincibility

    • @dynostretch9215
      @dynostretch9215 Před 9 měsíci

      To be fair, it wasn't plot convenience, they actually subtly foreshadowed it in one of the tear memories.
      Rauru and Sonia channeled a certain power through Link's arm into the Light Dragon, the power to revert things back from what they used to be using their memories of it.
      Recall.
