Go old school Re smell. You don’t want to cover it, you want to eliminate it. If furniture is cloth ... air first. Sprinkle thoroughly with Baking soda. Let stand, preferably overnight. Vac off ALL baking soda, every last bit. Air again. If smell remains. Repeat. Patience. It will work. Baking soda in the amount you’ll need can be purchased at Pound Shops, Hardware stores some supermarkets though they are only small packs. I buy Duzzit from my local garden centre for £1. When it’s in stock I buy ten or so. You can use for everything. Google it. You’ve done an amazing job. Can’t wait for your next vid. 👍👍👍

Hi Will. When you fit the ply back on the floor. Don't screw it down. Stick it down with something like 'clear fixall' screws in the floor make holes that will rust over time. Floors can sweat and rust out your van floor. Seal the old holes both in and underneath. Then stick boards down.

Great video Will. To be honest the best advice I can give regarding cleaning your seats, is to remove them. Our works lorries end up with filthy, stinky seats, and our fitters take them out, completely soak them in upholstery cleaner, then scrub them thoroughly, and then let them dry naturally. This process is often done twice, before reinserting the seats. If you do take out to clean them, they say, keep them out as long as you possibly can to let as much fresh air circulate around them. Hope that helps mate, all the best :)

  • @keart65
    @keart65 Před 3 lety

We have a product in the US called OdoBan. You can use it on fabrics, and hard surfaces. You can use it in a carpet cleaner and clean the seats with it. I just looked and it is sold in the UK however, it says currently unavailable on amazon. Maybe you can locate it. I highly recommend it. It is also hospital grade disinfectant. Great stuff. Another thing you can use is vinegar. Use that diluted half and half with water in a carpet cleaning machine. Rinse with clean water with the carpet cleaner after. That will help remove some of the vinegar smell. The vinegar smell goes away when it's dry.

  • @purpleheyes

The panel on the cab floor is for access to your fuel tank sender unit. If your going too fit a diesel heater, you can use a stand pipe directly into your vans fuel tank through the top of the sender unit, no need for a separate tank for the heater, and easy enough to do (I've done mine on my Citroen Relay)... Hope this helps... 🙂

  • @thinkingoutofthebox.9421

Hey Will, I really enjoyed the start of your Van transformation, it looks so much better now that you have ripped all the panels out, and give it a much needed deep clean! I look forward to your next video! 😊

Oh, grab a ozone generator, leave it in the va, it destroys odor on a molecular level or something, binds to odur, just look for an ozone Generator. Car detailers and such use them, all the time.

Sooo, as someone who suffers from Depression, I'm very impressed with your level of enthusiasm & energy for tasks like this. I find motivation VERY difficult. Good luck on your conversion -- it looks like you have a lot of great ideas.
And that is gonna be the cleanest van EVER.

Will, use impact when removing screws/bolts and tighten slowly. You would probably have better luck if you get an impact driver and use that for the first hit instead of the drill

I pity the millions of people who aren’t subscribed to this channel, let’s take a moment to say a prayer for them 🙏🏻
Jesus wept though Wil, no PPE used during that drilling gave me anxiety 🙈 🥽

Remember to line the floor, roof and walls with insulation otherwise it will get very cold, also what about installing small security cameras on your van so you can see whats happening outside your van when your stealth camping inside

I would run a dehumidiier during night to really dry things out - then use fabreze fabric spray on seats - Damp Rid is good to for musty odors - great job cleaning it up - you make great videos

Lol. Let's see how long you are neurotic about stains on your sub floor. I remember those days very well. Subbed.
Your insulation..... I used builders expanding foam. £39 for 12 bottles on fleabay. 3 boxes did everything. Does a much better job than rockwool or celutex. Sands very easy, highly recommended. Drop me a message if you wants some pointers over the foam.

Nice Will, the van looks cleaner than what it probably left the factory like. That was filthy and good on ya for getting it all done 👍🏻

Can't believe how clean you got the van, nice to see you taking your camping up a notch. I would love to do similar, have the tools and no how but no funds lol.

That round thing under the seat is your fuel tank sender unit.. tanks just below the passenger seat.
