I think Abbachio might hate Giorno so much because he reminds him of his previous self, and Abbachio hates his previous self, and also probably envies Giorno.
I also feel like it's because Bruno feels very confident in Giorno, so he might out shine Abbachio. And if he does that then Abbachio loses the one friend he has after such a long time of being shunned by society.
What I love is that Abaccio says he stopped caring about the truth, but his stand is all about uncovering the truth. He's so self loathing and unwilling to give himself any credit. It's painfully relatable.
hes my all time favorite character in Jojo! which is saying something cause all of my other favorite characters are from steel ball run, so for me he stands out the most! hes just a character that I can personally relate too.

The gang's plan was to go to Sardinia because they figured out the boss was born there and conceived Trish there. So they would go there, rewind to slightly before Trish was born and hope for the best. First of all there's a good chance Diavolo or Doppio don't look the same as they did 16 years ago, just look at Giorno or Jotaro. Then the problem with is the distance between the Cathedral and Sardinia is massive and would require trains, planes, and/or boats to get there, giving Diavolo ample opportunities to deploy his elite Gaurd in specific situations where they would be useful along the possible paths. Tiziano's Talking Head is useless without Squalo's Clash and Clash was only really useful in Venezia since Clash needs open liquids in order to function and Venezia is a city flooded with water. Carne's Notorious B.I.G. would only be useful on a plane on a street, it would go after cars before the gang stars and in water, well, we all now how it went with water. But if they just remained near the Cathedral, and stayed together Diavolo wouldn't have been able to send his Gaurd in time or stop them himself since King Crimson is no good at dealing with multiple enemies at a time. Then they just beat him up at the cost of two of their lives or rewind and potentially even keep fugo.
