Gyro’s horse feat was gotten though years of being the best in Britain, but figuring out D4C makes Diego the smartest character in the series. Valentine’s ability is far more complicated and hard to reason with than The World, and Diego actually stage managing with Hot Pants to try and prevent D4C from activating when they killed Valentine proves he isn’t just talk.

The best part about this Dio was that he wasn't just a DIO copy, he was his own person. A person we see that was raised by his mother, instead of his father and how it shaped him. I felt Diego was a more complete version of DIO and he actually felt like a separate character. Araki did this wonderfully by giving us a variant of a character we love but letting him be his own person at the same time. This is why I love Araki. Same goes for Kira in part 8.

I mean, the biggest difference is their backstory. Other than that, they're really similar. They both want to control the world, they both have no problem in killing their own allies and they both have an enormous sense of entitlement. I honestly don't see why people see him as an antihero or a more complete version of DIO, they are mostly the same character.

What I really like about this fight is that Tusk is undeniably a much more powerful stand, but Diego still pulls the win by being smart with how he uses time stop. It almost reminds me of how Joseph beat the Pillar Men with sleight of hand and mind games.
The thing is, unlike Jotaro Johnny can't see in timestop as he was unable to see the wires placed by Diego.
Johnathan won the battle, but DIO came back with allies and Johnathan’s head got separated from his body.
Johnny lost, but his Allies showed up and Diego’s head was separated from HIS body.
Truly signifying once and for all that this is another world in case the d4C shenanigans weren’t enough.
Dio is every 5'8 man's body goal. The guy rocks a green jockey sweater and you can still see his abs.

I really love this arc. Two REALLY POWERFUL Stands fighting each other, in a very well-balanced fight (Tusk Act 4 is an unstoppable force, that not even time can halt, and The World has the ability to stop the universe for 5 seconds).
You rarely see a so well balanced fight in JoJo involving two Reality Shaterring stands. It's usually a very one-sided fight (See GER vs King Crimson, or MIH vs everyone else, or even Tusk 4 vs D4C in this part) It was a really nice final confrontation!
I really loved the way valentine dies, just a standoff no one can stop it no stands just guns
MIH vs everyone wasn't that one sided tho. Jotaro could have atleast injured Pucci enough to buy some more time or get some advantage but he chose to save his daughter from the knives in the time stop. Otherwise all your points are damn true. Especially GER vs King Crimson damn that was so annoying.

Diego (Scary Monster) after saw how D4C on action : His power is to get between dimension via collision of two solid surface, there are infinite dimension beside our dimension, when two objects from different dimension meet they are destroyed except for Funny Valentine, he can changes between dimension and transfer D4C so he could replace himself, time to drag Wekapipo to changes place with me and get him disintregated and beat Funny Valentine using my dinosaur abbility without let him slide between two surface.
I wonder how Johnny's older brother power are and how his fighting prowess, he's said to be more genius than Diego in term of horse riding, his time awareness is also crazy, it's seen that he's better in Johnny in nearly all aspect, and maybe better than Diego too.

Impresove how diego can "only" stop time for 5 seconds but it literally got no cooldown
I think this is the best ending for Johnny, when he thought that he had lost the only friend he had in his life and be all alone for his life, then this fight starts, and because diego knew the "secret" Of Jonnhy's stand he could play safer and "win" Against him, until Lucy shows up (finishing her redemption arc) and kills Diego, Mr. Steel help Johnny save himself and Johnny can finally finish Gyros arc.
For me, it doesn't matter that he didn't win, that's the better ending possibly to him.
And not just dying with your enemy to 100 years later someone discovers that he still alive and more powerful

The thing that I (and probably Araki, when he was drawing it) loved about this arc when reading it was how, since Johnny can't use timestop, we can have Diego cheat a _tiny bit_ with his timestop cooldown/duration. We only see the timestop from Diego's POV when Araki wants us to, which leads to moments like the wires being hung.

While I also think that deduction of Johnny was too convinient, you can say they were in two different contexts: In SBR, Dio and Johnny were in the last bit of a race, so they could notice the distances between them because they had more references: the total lenght of the route in that stage, the horses as tools of distance measure (and by extension, an approach of time as long as they knew more or less the speed of their horses) and the other racers as points of reference, plus Johnny knew the fact that Dio needed to cross the goal as fast as possible, so that could gave him a few clues (Dio couldn't be able to spam his power, and he has an obvious limit because even if he disappears for a while and goes further, he stays in the race and don't insta-win it, in example).

that, however, could be an interesting point for Johnny to bring up for deduction analysis, to pin down Diego's Stand power into time stop

Before Johnny and Dio joined the last stage with the others racers, these two had a brief encounter.
In this one, Dio deflects a nail bullet using a knife and he does it without moving out of his postion; and then throw knives to Johnny during the time-stop.
So, if his power would be teleport, he couldn't have make appear knives that aimed him mid-air, and he couldn't deflect the bullet the way he did to begin.
PS: The hoofprints are actually a very good point that could negate the falsa clue interpretation that could lead to the teleport stuff
Also to Johnny a time related stand is nothing new, since they encountered Mandom before, while Kakyoin never heard of a stand that could control time. A bit farfetched, but still a headstart
I like How Diego waited for the time stop to wear out before pulling the trigger.
Otherwise, the bullet would have stopped mid-air just like the knives.
Not gonna lie, I’m almost as excited for this exact arc to get animated as I am for Stone Ocean’s anime adaptation.

My alltime favorite arc. Its what Jojo started with - the battle of Jonathan vs Dio yet in a perfect way that both have their best form of a stand and are about to finish the whole race. Its the ultimate showdown and damn do I love seeing tusk act 4 in action

Johnny is honestly the closest character we’ve had to Dio, even more so than Giorno. He’s just brutal and acts in a grey area a lot of the the time. He killed an innocent woman and just rode past without a care. Even against Love Train, He just keep firing looking for a chance while looking for a chance. He just does not give a fuck sometimes and while I haven’t read Jojolion, That sort of makes him my favorite
In the original universe Jonathan was just good and just bad but in this one their moral compass is adjusted, Jonathan is a worse person and DIO a better one which leaves the even

I think that he is actually the most humane jojo, he is my fav jojo and character for a reason, great development, great personality and appearance, I think he is not a bad guy, he went from cocky bastard full of confidence and asshole to an honest and good person who cares about his loved ones, spoiler, his sacrifice in part 8 was simply beautiful, he wasn’t worse than Dio, Dio was a worse person, but he wasn’t as bad as High voltage Dio
