Tom knows how to make attention grabbing verses, however I have to agree that his choruses turns me off sometimes. Maybe Nova should teach Tom how to write a decent chorus. But I can sense that Nova doesn't interfere with Tom's creativity when it comes to his music. Nova has a different approach on her own music. I listened to some of her songs, it's just different from Tom.

Tom MacDonald stands out from the rest. He's different. I commend him heavy for that. He's not in a box. He's big versatile. There is a difference between artists and rappers. It's about being relatable and having substance in your music. Tom told it like it was in this song. My friend Donovan Roby's album that came out in 2018 is called Too Many Rappers Not Enough Artists. The dude who says "I Hate Hip Hop" sounds like Tech N9ne. Tom uses titles that get clicks yes, but they are all backed by all of the content. He wants people to click so that he can speak his facts, not just to get ad revenue.

His hooks always seem kinda off during my first listen but then I come back to it in a different mood or listen to it a couple more times and then it all comes together. When he put out politically incorrect I didn't quite like it at first and then listened to it about a week later and it became one of my favorites. Hangman was another where I wasn't really in the mood for it but then I woke up after another night of heavy drinking and listened to it and now I listen to it everyday at the gym.

We got Scarface the original southern rapper to hit mainstream waves rapping about his life in Houston and what gang culture did to his friends. Hell tom even states not all rap is like the lil xans in this songs and still condemns them saying back pack rappers are too much like old head raps. When those rappers bring a plethora of new sounds to the genre. Or how he takes a swipe as wu tang talking bout its to old and he can't vibe with. This song is nothing else but him condemning all of hiphop with one broad paint brush of only glorifying the negative and straight up actively ignoring other rap genres saying they don't matter anyway. I think there is a line between intriguing/ hard-reality slapping truth, and clickbait. Did he actually rap about his perspective of how, if in another life he was black, how would that affect him? Yes, he talked about that. If it was clickbait, I have no idea why youtube would've withheld it for a bit. With this song, again, not clickbait, he specifically referred to the culture of it all, which I feel like a lot of people would agree and say it is a messed up culture.
In most raps, most people don't listen to the song for the choruses, or hooks, it's the bars, wordplay, rhyme-schemes/meters, etc. I think Tom brings an incredible fusion to the table with his hooks and choruses, (which is almost a juxaposition in general to how hip-hop is sonically) but that's a bonus, his bars are what carry everything. Music production wise- he even trolls people with that too, the autotune line had autotune on it to poke fun at other people and himself.
I think that what Tom is doing, with spreading truth, in a 'IDGAF' way is phenomenal and so needed.

There is room for everybody and while I don’t like all of his music I DO like that he is doing his own thing and owning his space.
