How to install Composite Deck Railing

Install composite railing kit on finished decking 1 year ago ago. There is very little space to install posts, because no posts are planned when building a deck. this is just my way how to install a composite deck easily DIY

You can find metal posts that accept composite covers, saving time cutting into the deck.

I'm guessing you didn't have that deck inspected. Most, if not all, states don't allow notching a 4x4 post for a railing system.

U.S. building code requires support posts for the rail structure to be no further apart than 6 feet on a deck with 4×4’ deck rail posts and no more than 8 feet apart for decks with 6×6’ deck rail posts. Posts should be no further apart than 5.5 feet on stairs.

@@life4story836 I'm not sure what your response has to do with my comment. In Michigan, we are not allowed to notch posts. Your deck only has 2" of wood resisting a 200 lb. force.
