Machine details:
Justins machine is a 2019 Can-am X3 XRS. It is 72" wide and 172 horsepower. Suspension is setup to the fox tune. It is running 32x14x10 sticky Maxxis Roxxzilla tires. It has a Evo Powersports Shocker cat delete exhaust.
Billys machine is a 2017 yxz 1000r with graves exhaust, tune, 70/30 gytr gear reduction, heavy flywheel, 30" maxxis bighorn tires, 14x7 5+2 Method 401 wheels, weller tie rods, krash offroad cage, bumpers,
sliders, warn 3500lb winch, and simpson suspension seats.
Joshs rig is a 2017 yxz1000r with Super Atv 4" 30% Portals, graves exhaust, tune, 30" maxxis Roxxzilla tires, krash offroad cage, rear bumper, sliders, 70/30 gear reduction, and heavy flywheel.

Clutch pack in the smartlok is sold as a kit and not terrible to replace. Don't cycle the actuator with it removed...

What did mode did you use. You have 3 first is trail it is 3 wheel drive. Trail active is front limited slip it can transfer power back and forth but in mud all 4 can spin then you have dif lock and that is a 4 wheel lock mode . That’s why it’s hard to steer and great for rock crawling it’s not as limited slip like trail active that give 4 wheel drive at high speed turns.

its not really diff lock its Limited slip, the only ones with real diff lock are the 2020s

My understanding is if a wheel spins free it will stop it and transfer powar to the otter wheels....

The smart-lok in the 2020 is the same as what was offered in 2018.

Can you elaborate? How are the 2020 smart lock diffs any different? are you referencing the visco VS smart lock?
AFAIK, it is the algorithm that controls the various modes is the differentiating factor in ALL the smart lock diffs back to 2018 the different modes observe different inputs and thresholds to determine when they lock, how quickly, and whether or not it is sustained lock until a change of input variable.

Our 2018 diff will spin all 4 when it’s in diff lock.. tires in a mud hole and 2 in the air it’ll still spin em lol
