    Looks like a solid start!
    Fingers crossed.

Of to flying start, The cliff top would make a good place for the manor house.

My fear is that it will be to far from the main city center, however, it would be an aesthetically pleasing location.

Next time I would probably get the granary and storehouse built before the houses. Sure the homelessness debuff sucks but so does having food destroyed by the rain.

I think that is a good point. I was concerned about increasing the approval rating fast so that we can start pulling in new families which would increase our population and increase our army/draft numbers. I'm curious if the forager's hut and the hunting camp offset the wet supplies, however, I am not confident I would know which spot in the game to check that. Do you happen to know?

@@Na_MaPlays I think you'll be fine. There's just an area of my brain going red icons! not the free stuff! Noooo! I blame RimWorld.

@Na_MaPlays I'm with duckrutt, I hate the idea of losing free stuff, so I build granary and storehouse first. Assign 1 family to each, then I build the logging camp and woodcutting camp. The hunters camp, but I don't assign any families to it. I want everyone working construction until I run out of timber, so as soon as the supplies are stored away I unassign families from the granary and storehouse.
Then I build the hunters camp and if I have the timber the forager hut. If/when I run out of timber, I assign everyone to the woodcutting until I have 10 timber, then I unemploy everyone to build all 5 the houses. Once the houses are built then I start assigning families to their various work sites. Trying, if possible to keep 1 family unemployed for construction work.
You want to wait on building the houses because as soon as the 1st house is built the people want a market with market stalls in it otherwise they get negative happiness and staffing the market stalls reduces your labor pool by 2 people, slowing the construction of other things.

You asked about the development tree, my suggestion would be apples, rye, charcoal, deep mines (in this order).
Then after that it's up to you, there are a few different ways to go, you could go bakary, which could be useful because it doubles your bread production whiich could be useful in soil poor area with limited farming. Or the hunting for the extra hides and meat, or trade (though that is no longer GOD teir with the patch).
I wouldn't go down the armor tree in this region because you don't have enough iron for that in this region. But if you do get a region with rich iron, then you want to go hard down this tree to the exclusion of all the other trees.

With the release of the patch, are you going to see if your save is compatible? Or start fresh?

Honestly, still debating. On one hand, it would be nice to benefit from the patch updates. However, I REALLY do not want to restart when we just started a new season. Because of that, as of right now, I am probably going to try and make it through this season without the patch unless I can find a way to update the game without a new save. I believe the steam notes from hooded horse says its recommended but I don't know if 'recommended' is a nice way of saying 'required'.

@@Na_MaPlays yea, I haven't played since the patch was released, so I can't say. If you are willing to take the tine, you could make a copy of the save file in another directory, and try the patch to see if it works or is broken, if it's broken, revert to the old version and move the copy back into the game directory.
But I totally understand if you don't want to do that much work. We all have to have lives outside of work.

@@spamfilter32 lol the funny thing is I do work a full time “day job” on top of CZcams.
Honestly this computer is my first gaming computer since being on a windows 98 (yes dating myself a bit here) so I don’t know how I even would make a copy etc to test it out.

@Na_MaPlays my first computer, that I owned, was a Windows 98. Before that, I had to rely on my roommates computer and the computer lounge. So don't worry on that front!
I never meant to imply that I thought you didn't work for a living. I understand that most CZcamsrs have a job that is their primary income. I just meant that I didn't want you to think I was trying to pressure you into doing something you didn't feel you had the time to do.

@@spamfilter32 never felt pressured at all and sorry if I caused any confusion. May was a super hectic month and when I was typing that I was reflecting on the fact that I think between yt and the day job I must’ve put in 50-60hours a week. 😂. I was impressed by the power of caffeine lol.
