Day 3 (last day)
Filled with oddities, scenic beauty, history, and a sense of adventure, it is no wonder that the Mojave Road has such an iconic stature. Formed as an early Native American trade route then an east-west passage for settlers, the road has a long history. Passing through the Mojave Desert Preserve and the Lanfair Valley, you are remote and far from civilization. Today it is one of the more famous overland routes in the southwest. Although the road is not at all technical, the sense of adventure you get by being so deep in the desert is what makes it worth the trip.
Join Joshua Noesser in his Jeep CJ7, John Lumia in his Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon with the Ursa Minor Top, and Greg Martin in his ZR2 Colorado as they take you on what many have said is the ultimate overland adventure. This is day 1 of this 4x4 scenic trip known for some of the best desert camping in the world. So sit back and enjoy this epic overland camping trip.

this is one of the best channels out there. dont stop what you are doing cause those of us here in the Inland Empire appreciate all you do. Your app is getting better with more trails and love it. You being local makes it nice too!
Thank you
lol the bloopers were great
Thank you, we love to share a little humor when we can.
Outtakes at the end, there is a long story behind the sleeping in the jeep. (Felt even longer that night)
This was a great trip. Want to go back soon.
Have you ever thought of doing a time lapse of all of the driving from the trail? Would be nice for people trying to see if their vehicles can make it up these trails.
@@RayHikes in the video is the hardest part of the trail, but you can also go to our website and review the difficulty there. The link is in the video description above.
@@Trailsoffroad sounds good, I imagined there might be more hard spots. Looks like a good time, I’ll have to go try it out.
@@RayHikes Its a great trail that is friendly to most stock high ground clearance 4x4's. Hit up our website, we have a ton of great details there.
Love how you didn’t even comment on Watson Wash.
Thanks for watching
@@Trailsoffroad I hope that didn't come off as sarcastic or snarky. What I meant was that with your rock Jeep, the most intimidating obstacle on the trail was so insignificant that you didn't even acknowledge it. I though that was pretty badass.
Hahahaha, wasn't taken that way. How many times have you done the trail? --- Josh
Headed to the Mohave trail in May. Thanks for a little insight on what lies ahead.
Have fun. You can also use our trail guide on the website (Link in the video description) to get more information.
Great review and journey.. did the Mojave last October, Laughlin to Barstow this year, October, Barstow to Laughlin.. friends can view this and know what they're in for.. thanks again
Have fun, sounds like it might be different out there this year
As usual : Badass drone footage...I want more Drone Footage :)
Thanks Joe
Great video, love the old trailhead. Keeping it spicy.
Thank you for watching
Nice, thanks for the tips. I'll be on the Mojave Road end of April. Going East to West
Very nice. Post up a trip report of your adventure on our website. We would love to hear about it.
Great video series 👍.
Thank you for watching
I just picked up my new Bronco and have been hitting local trails here in the Inland Empire. My wheeling buddy has mentioned wanting to do this trail, and my research brought me to your videos. I'll probably be hitting it sometime this spring. Excellent video series.
Check out our trail reviews, there is a lot more details there. The link is in the video description above.
Awesome video guys! What would you say the time duration would be from Camp Phallus to Highway 95(California side)?
This is a guess as it depends on how fast you can go down the trail. But probably 3-4 hours.
Nicely done
Thank you
you passed CB overland...those poor people have had it rough this past month, broke down out Trona and had to get towed back to Vegas and now are back in Wisconsin trying to regroup. They have alot of heart.
We were wondering who they were. What happened?
sick dude!
Thank you for watching
Where exactly on your GPX is that optional Old Mojave around 10:30?
it is right at the eastern trailhead. Currently people bypass this canyon as it is hard, if you just go straight it takes you right up it.
So what time of year did you guys go up
It was Nov
Hi Joshua. As usual, I enjoyed your review. The Mohave Road does have a lot to explore. I am curious hat brand of shaker siphon you use and how you like it. I guess easier or less trouble taking off the tanks. Probably watched these Mohave Road videos 3 or 4 times in the last few days. Was planning a trip there this weekend but had to cancel. When we do go wants to have all of our ducks lined up. Thanks.
The winter is just starting, you have plenty of time to go. I think i bought that one at Harbor Freight. You want to get the bigger one (Bigger round), or it takes forever to transfer the fuel.
And yes, that is way easier then trying to poor gas.
Hi guys - Great Video. I am considering doing this trail, but I do not think my stock Toyota Tundra TRD off-road will be able to handle the part around the 11:00 minute mark. Any suggestions? Thanks
You will be fine as the mark at 11:00 is optional. We just wanted to do the old trail to say we did 100% where we could of the old trail. The new trail goes around this area to the north. Use our GPX path to get around this
Kind of looks like you've been in the desert for three days Josh... LoL
Yeah, this was day 5 of this trip so far. We spent 1 days in Anza, 1 day in Cougar, then 3 on Mojave. And boy did it feel like it hahaha.
How big of a gas tank do you have in your jeep Josh?
It was a 14-gallon fuel cell, we added about 3 more gallons to it. But I start sucking air around 12-gallons now where before it was 10. I need to build a new pickup and put baffles inside so I can get every drop. --- Josh
Do you have a build write up for the CJ?
Head over to our website. Pick a trail like sledge hammer. If you scroll to the bottom you will see my profile. Click on it and scroll down. There you will see a build on the Jeep. The photo is old but it has a majority of the items on the jeep.
If anyone passes the intersection at 6:23, can you please get my sunglasses? That is the last place I had them and must have lost them there.
Hopefully someone finds them hahahaha. Better yet, post a photo on Social Media and Tag TrailsOffroad with a #TrailsOffroadShades
