Happy Wednesday! I hope you all enjoy this weeks declutter and organization 😊 leave me a comment letting me know what you got done while watching!
I put a small Lego set in a plastic shoe bin with a lid. I kept the bin in a tall cabinet in my kitchen. When my son wanted to play with it, he sat at the kitchen table to build it. When he was done, I put it away. It keeps the Legos out of reach of younger siblings and the Legos are all contained in one place out of the way.
That’s a great idea!!
I love Legos. They develop their imagination, their fine motor skills (handling small stuf), and so much more.
I used to have a sheet my kids could dump all the logos on top of. When they was done, I gathered the edges and dumped it in the bin.
If you let him keep them he can play with them only in he's room or something, where the one year old don't get to it.
Now I will watch the rest of your video. 😊
Yes they’re definitely good for the kids, not so much for me 🤣 but i think as he gets older, it’ll get easier because he will be better about taking care of them! We went to the Lego store recently and he LOVED it
Love declutters!
We love Lego! We keep spare or the standard Lego in a bin. For the sets the kids want to keep together I put them on the large base plates so that all the tiny accessories are attached to something and it's easier for the kids to carry it from room to room.
We went to the Lego store recently and he loved it 😅 I’m scared for my heels when I start stepping on them all soon enough!
@Catherine Elaine haha! The struggle is real! I eventually got my kids in the routine of always doing it on a table top or desk so I avoid stepping on it
I always enjoy your videos. I also live in a very small space! I have gotten so many practical ideas from you! 😊
Thank you ☺️
Sorry that I am a few days late, but I just got some time to do some laundry and decided to play your video while putting the clothes on the drying rack.
Thank you for watching!!
about the holes in socks. are you ripping the tags off or cutting them off. Do not rip them off, you will start getting holes much faster.
You might try academy or Penney’s for socks. Ours has the Nike & adidas in black, white & gray for adults. Maybe kids too.
Great video!
Hi @CatherineElaine! I love your videos! I'm a new subscriber. I discovered your videos a few months ago through the serendipity of Google's algorithm. I really like how normal, practical and down to earth you seem. Your home is beautiful, and I get so much inspiration from your videos. I live in New England, and I, too, am a New England sports fan. I smile inside every time I see Patriots paraphernalia in your home! Best of luck with the impact of CZcams's changes to your channel. I will always be keeping an eye out for your new videos, and I will always make sure to like and leave a comment! Be well!
Aw thank you so so much 🥹
I love that you call Carson’s bedroom small! My home here in the UK has a single bedroom. My 13yo bedroom has it and she has a small double bed, desk, and a tall bookshelf. She’d love a bigger room!!
Small is not a competition, they can both have small rooms even if Carson’s is bigger than hers.
Carson's room is the same size as my extra bedroom that I use as an office, I agree, SMALL!!!
Carson’s room is so cute! We have the bigger legos. I took half of them and put them away. Now it’s not so bad I’m teaching my grandchild to clean them up when he’s done. If you step on one Lordy it hurts!
Haha yes it does!!!
Great video!
Thank you!
This was a great video 👍. I love the new bookcase. Carson's room looks great. I bet he was happy when he saw it. Take care 💛
Thank you!! Yes he was so happy!
Nice deep clean of Carson’s room. That is a neat bookshelf you got him. ❄️
Thank you for watching!! 😊
@@CatherineElaine your welcome! Love your videos Catherine!
I love that bookshelf,l never seen a corner one.He has a very cute room.
Thank you!
Im not sure if you will see this or not but I have legos and then we have smaller kids where I run a daycare and my 2 year old has a clear under the bed (long but short) bin and she knows legos must stay in the bins.
I absolutely love Carson's room. ❤️
Thank you ☺️
Hi Catherine I found hanging my kids shirts works well I did use to fold my kids pants, leggings etc that way when they pick a shirt they don’t throw all the other clothes around and they can see what they have.
Legos are annoying but if you make him play with them in your kitchen sitting up high on your counter might be a better idea for Carson that way there out of the way of Sutton it’s just a thought 💭 Love how Carson’s room turned out Have a great week ❤
Someday when we have more closet space I plan to hang everything!! Haha I truly can’t wait for that day!
Legos are a part of being a boy mom! They will accumulate over the years! My son has three drawers full of them that he won’t let me get rid of. At least now he actually keeps them together.
Haha for sure!! I’m in for it! Hopefully as he gets older he’s better about keeping track of them!
Awesome motivation Have a wonderful day and week.
Thank you so much 😊
Dresser … clothes folded and put away is always better than waiting for perfection. Great choice 😊👍
I like the drawers better without the organizational bins anyway. 😊
It’s freeing to let go of the idea of perfection! Thank you for watching 😊
I always look forward to your videos! You do a wonderful job cleaning an organizing! ❤️
Thank you so much!!
Great job! Looks great! Love the bookcase 🤍🤍
Thank you!!
💖😀
😊
Looks good!
Thank you for watching 😊
Carson's room looks good Catherine. Have you ever thought of adding a shelf above his bed for his toys to go onto?? love the new bookcase.
Not on top of the bed out of fear of something falling. But I do want to put in shelves!
Love that bookcase, Catherine!
Thank you! It’s been great
@@CatherineElaine Carson's room is probably your biggest challenge, lol.
I'm wondering if there's a nice way to keep his books on his dresser. I notice each time you go through the pile and put them "away". Looks great! That was a lot of work!
Nice video love his room❤
Thank you ☺️
Looks awesome 😉❤️👍🏼🇨🇦
Thank you!!
♥
🥰
I get the folding and then simplifying my. I love seeing peoples cubes in drawers and stuff but my boys put their own clothes away and they don’t care for any of that so wouldn’t work. Simple for us is easier as well. I would rather they learn to do their own laundry then looking nice, which no one sees anyways
Ahh yes!! Soon I’ll have to start teaching Carson to put away his own laundry!
Good job
Thank you ☺️
I really like that white corner shelf! You said you found it at Target?
Yes I did! It’s linked in my description ☺️
Where did you get your bedroom units from? Great video!! 😊 x
They’re from west elm!
I’m sorry you’re fighting with the CZcams algorithm 😔
It can be so tricky sometimes!
It's a shame to throw away so many clothes that could be mended.
I promise you I don’t ever throw away things that can be mended! If it’s thrown away, it’s just not salvageable. Carson has a tendency to chew on his clothes so they get very very thin and have tons of holes. Sometimes I’ll cut them up and use them as rags before throwing away.
