I have a 1995 Chevy k1500 z71 Silverado, short bed, stepside, regular cab, 193000 miles and it has a little over 300hp under the hood, it's the only truck I ever want, it's my baby

Nice truck. I had a 98 Silverado Z71, the thing was tough as nails and the body was mint the day I traded it in. Well it's been through a couple different owners but I still see it roaming the streets to this day. Kinda makes me wish I kept it. I think you have the right idea with big red there.
I have a 1997 GMC K2500 SLE 136,000 miles no rust at all never been on a winter road it has 7.4 liter 454 with 395 horsepower I use it to pull my 10,000 Pound fifth wheel they are great trucks
I remember when my dad came home with a brand new 1995 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hunter green with tan interior. I was only 6 years old, I loved it! He passed it down to my brother and I ended up buying me a red 1994 Silverado. Well...we both ended up wrecking both of our trucks lol I was t boned and sober as can be. My brother well... Not so much... Miss my 94'. I'm currently looking to buy a 94-98 Silverado. Hopefully I will find one!
Got a 99 yukon and it’s been in Milwaukee Wisconsin it’s entire life. Got it for $1000 and put tires and a fuel pump in it, that’s it. Got the vortec 350 and it has 265000 miles and runs perfectly. Original 4l60e transmission too, never rebuilt. Still impressed it had no problem starting when we got that polar vortex this winter at -48 below. These old gm trucks are beasts
I just got a 96 Z71 5.7L Vortec with the old style mirrors, true 8' long bed, ground-shift 4x4, 260k miles, a buttery smooth engine/idle, and no rust. Basically my dream truck, and will keep it up/restore it forever.
Cool truck man and I get what you're saying about keeping original. Im getting a 1995 C1500 5.7L this week here in New Zealand and going to keep it as original as possible too.
Like your plans with this truck; take care of, maintain and ‘restore’ as you go, making it last as long as possible. Get yourself a pair of CAPA certified replacement front fenders or good used orig, if you can find them. A good oil based waxy flowing rust proofing protection for the underside, frame, cab corners/rockers, bed outer wheelhouse tops, etc. will help it last and address rust. Krown, Boeshield, 3M Rustfighter One are some good ones. Rock Auto, Parts Geek, and others also have good quality name brand parts available for these great trucks.
just bought a 98 k1500 and for my first truck at $4300, I love it. 157k real miles everything works perfectly and just a small rust spot about 5"x 2" which I already bought the stuff to fix but I also plan on restoring it as well especially before I go off to college. I might get carried away with the 4x4 but hey as long as I can fix it it's all good.
Guy down in Lynchburg VA got a few nine-thirty-two's that will fit yer red critter. Give him a call, his name is Sonny and he makes racing engines. Yer pickup is purdy. Thanks for the video.

I have a 1994 k1500. Same colors. Love it to death. It’s crazy how much Ed changed from 1994 to 1995. I also swapped the engine it now has the 1995 350 vortec
Cool, I really like that red and black. I just bout a GMC version about a week ago Z71 4x4 with 330,000 miles and it runs and drives like a dream. Two tone silver top and bottom with sky blue middle stripe. Looks beautiful. Im not gonna be surprised if it gives me a few problems soon though with that mileage, but hey it was $1,750. As long as it works for a little while it was still worth it
beautiful truck keep maintaining as original .. they run great . i wish i could find the one my dad had when i was younger a z71 silverado 1995 red single cabin
Waffle Katt777 my dad the same one but after he died my mom sold it and I cannot buy it due to the regional regulations of my country I cannot buy it :( because it’s a duty free zone and my zone it’s not therefore cannot take it out and the new owner won't sell it
Beautiful truck, I love that red and black! This was my childhood dream truck before I got my license in '95. In '07, I finally got around to getting the same '95 K1500 Z with leather seats, two tone hunter green/tan with 130K mi. Still have it and it's at 207K mi. with a Jasper 4L60E transmission installed at 150K. These trucks are built like tanks and very easy to work on! The downfall of these trucks is the original GM 4L60E, and the cab corner, rocker, pass. side fender rusting out too quick. They don't make 'em like they used to in the 1990's!
I've got an indigo blue metalic 98 Z71 ext cab that's in much better shape than most that I see. It's got decent paint except for the hood which I'm going to get painted soon. It's also got the original saw blade wheels too that are in good shape. I don't think I'll ever part with it. It's such a good looking classic body style and solid truck! Growing up in the 90's and admiring these as a kid definitely adds to the sentiment.
Third door option wasn’t available until 1996, with an automatic transmission only. The throttle body motors are notorious for cracking heads much like their successor the 305/350 vortec motors. The 4L60E transmission is okay as long as you don’t expect much from it, and you have a cooler separate from the radiator. They all go at some point, but fortunately they’re extremely plentiful so parts are always available for a rebuild when needed. The single largest issue you will run into on the 1995 model is the heater controls and several engine sensors are 1995 specific and have a higher premium when they need to be replaced. I have been rebuilding my truck from the ground up over the last 3.5 years and learned all of this along the way. The best mods you can do for efficiency is a set of shorty headers and a good aftermarket exhaust. The thermo front axle actuator tends to quit you when you need it the most, which is $70 and ten minutes tops to change out. You have a few options to get around it if you want, one is the cable actuated Posi lock system for $150 ish, and the other is upgrade to the electric actuator that requires a new harness and runs at a little over a $100. The G80 limited slip is okay as long as it works. Unless you have a six lug 14 bolt rear axle which is a 9.5” ring gear, it’s not a heavy half, just a run of the mill 8.5” 10 bolt.
@@donleamon8653 Lmao I had a bodybuilder diet and muscles for 5 years, damn right I am finally eating good ass food, my wife's cooking is heavenly, not slowing down anytime soon lolz

Dude. Sorry, everybody else is dancing around the elephant in the room. WTF, selling the PW and getting all hyped up on an oldish IFS GM product. You are regressing my man. I went from an '02 2500 Burb w/8.1L to my '13 PW. My Burb was leveled w Cognito UCAs and Fox 2.0s and 33" KO2s and a Go Industries Bull Bar. It had some presence on the road. I had some pride in it until it met it's demise in an accident. But really never liked that IFS shit up front. It was always a subconscious downer for me being a previous Jeep owner, although I liked the rest of the rig. That's when the '13 PW came into my life. Bought it used w low miles and clean. I found my almost perfect ride ( Thuren made it more perfect). My man, I would never have found your Tube if it wasn't for the PW connection. Come on man, get back to your roots! Power Wagon all the way!
John FitzGerald I May have weird taste but I grew up around old trucks and I like them more for some reason, my 95 Chevy is old enough to make it feel cool to me for some reason, I don’t really know why. I know on paper it’s inferior to the PW but seeing cheap old trucks and new expensive trucks, I don’t really see why the new ones are so expensive. It’s insane, I don’t regret the wagon, I love that truck , it’s a beast, I do perhaps wish I woulda bought a used one for $25k or so, a lot better than $45k. Now they are over $60k new. I don’t get it, thus the $2000 Chevy is great because of that and the old charm and feel it has. I hear ya though and appreciate your thoughts. I will continue Power Wagon content, It’s still loosely for sale but obviously I’m liking holding onto it , hence why I still have it. Cheers dude
