  • Austart Air Starters greatly appreciate Ingram Barge Company for allowing us to conduct a product test on the esteemed vessel Larry Drummond in Paducah in collaboration with our respected distributor, GMENI Marine Supplies. Our mission was to start the renowned EMD 12-cylinder 710 engine. This task necessitated the removal of the dual Ingersoll Rand 150BM Vane starters, subsequently replacing them with the singular and enhanced Austart ATS103 (Enhanced Model, yet to be released) Turbine starter.
With meticulous attention to detail, we embarked on the endeavor, expertly rerouting the plumbing lines and skillfully bypassing the existing lubricators and valves. The moment of truth arrived, and we witnessed the resounding success of the Austart starter as it effortlessly initiated the EMD 12/710 engine at three distinct pressure levels: 125PSI, 100PSI, and 80PSI. Once again, this triumph reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to producing the most exceptional air starter available in the market.
To express our gratitude and admiration for the deck crew diligently toiling away under the scorching heat of a blistering 98-degree Fahrenheit day to repaint the vessel, we gave them Richardson Austart hats. Their dedication and hard work mirrored the satisfaction and delight we experienced in fulfilling Ingram Barge's expectations.
The collaboration between Ingram Barge Company, GMENI Marine Supplies, and ourselves exemplifies the maritime industry's remarkable advancements and efficiency enhancements. We take pride in this successful test and eagerly anticipate further opportunities to continue this fruitful partnership.

It is because it is actually a locomotive engine, just in a boat

@@user-tz4lr8xe4dbut why it uses air start not starter?

@@leonpanoit's because air starter have better power-to-weight ratio than electric starters, which do not only save weight, but also can svae cost, plus the cables of electris starter has to be more compared to sedans as engines like the EMD 12-710 is around 139 liters, and it would take up too much space to the point that it's not convenient anymore.

@@jeffduncan2942the description says it is the M/V Larry Drummond from Ingram. Plus it has the ingram exhaust compliance placard on the side of the engine.

@@tangsoo128 yes I know. I’m from Paducah where Ingram and Marquette and several other boat companies are from. I was joking, because the old Marquette boats were rough. That engine room is clean, like Ingram, Crounse and a very few others keep their boats.

Do us all a favor and not put 30 layers of paint on everything. I know it looks good but it's a pain in the rear when your sockets don't fit anymore and have to break away all the paint.

How do you know that he hasn’t properly chipped and taken the old paint off then painted it?
