Jodie Comer was born to play this role. Her performance is so astonishing that I almost find it hard to believe she *isn’t* actually Villanelle. Genuinely up there with Walter White as best characters I’ve seen on TV
Agreed, the whole show is so well done and she really becomes this character.
Seeing what she's like in real life makes the performance that much more impressive too.
You should see her interviews and just watch how different Jodie is from her character. It's like two different people, no trace of Villanelle, well, except the face

Children aren't egotistical and selfish, that is an inaccurate generalization, it very much depends on the individual child as it depends on the individual human, a lot of children are giving and/or humble .

Psychopaths suffer from a low level of arousal of the sympathetic nervous system, because of this they don't have fear, shame or empathy and need more extreme situations to get the same level of stimulation as a neuro-typical.
Psychopaths don't lack regret because they think they're in the center of the world, they lack regret because because they lack empathy, because they don't care if people get hurt, they don't care if something is wrong.
Even if you meant sociopath, that is developed in infancy, the development of empathy is interfered with by not having anyone to love, since those you depend upon abuse you. Sociopaths are impulsive and irresponsible, psychopaths are calculating, cold and charming.
