- Carbonara is the most famous pasta recipe in the world. But how did it all start?
Rome, 1944. An Italian cook meets a young American soldier with a mission: to set up a special meal for the Allied forces stationed in the city. Discover the legend behind the origins of carbonara, a dish prepared for the first time to take care of someone that’s still continuing today to bring everyone together. On April 6th for #CarbonaraDay prepare a carbonara for whoever you care.
Inspired by this story of caring, Barilla, who has always believed in the power of pasta to unite everyone, turned #Carbonara into #CareBonara, the ideal recipe to take care of people.
And to make a real gesture of care, Barilla will be next to Food For Soul - the nonprofit founded by chef Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore - supporting their mission and sustainability initiatives around the world, with a donation of 1 million pasta dishes throughout 2021, nourishing socially vulnerable individuals through the organization’s operational partners in Refettorio projects in Europe, the Americas and Asia. - Zábava
Literally the first time I have not pressed "skip" on an advertisement. Well done. And as a retired US soldier, I can relate to the need for a good meal like that when you've been living off of rations. Cheers to your advertising department. They did an outstanding job. I can't recall complimenting a commercial before, lol.
Your marketing team is ahead of the curve. I sought this video just to comment I was compelled to watch a 10 minute advertisement from a pasta company.
Ditto. Bloody marvellous
It's all lies.
As a filmmaker in England. I cried at the utter brilliance of this project. Amazing. I salute you.
This ad came up randomly on a vid i was watching and i just had to find it to give it a like. This is a top quality film production
Same
I watched the entire ad and didn't even watch the vid I clicked
Same lol
Adverts on CZcams are a real annoyance... But this advert.... This advert I'll happily watch all the way through!
My kids and I loved this ad yesterday. It deserves an Oscar.
Im crying omg...This is my favorite pasta...and knowing this... it's history...makes me love and respect it even more. Thank you so much!!!
I make a very good Carbonara if u want 😂
@@ryleysoftair7635 of course I do 😂
I recognised The Plaza Hotel on the Via del Corso in Rome. A great place!
Congratulations to all the team that put together this masterpiece,
Who put it together? What animation team
Please, look at the end titles, there you can find all the details. However,
Alkemy is the animation agency in charge
I am working on a video on the history of the carbonara! Thank you guys for making this film in showing me one of the ways carbonara could have been made! 😊 Also to those who are angry, there are many different stories and theories on how the carbonara was made, this is one of them. So please do not be so rude or mean. Carbonara is delicious and is for everyone! So put down the pitchforks and pick up a fork instead. Only wage war on someone that adds cream in the carbonara or worse! 🤢
Literally sacrificed the football to watch this and oh boy I’m glad I did! Absolutely wonderful to see work like this! Shed a tear. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
We are glad we made it against the football match... and it was worth it! 😉
It's not everyday that I get an advertisement that is way more entertaining than the video I intended to watch. I felt compelled to find this video just to watch it over and over again. I also started making carbonara nearly everyday because I found it surprisingly easy to make and very delicious. I hope youtube features this again on the same day next year.
You guys 🥲 Carbonara has always been my favourite pasta dish 🥲 But this ad made me love it more 🥲 I’m weeping
Thank you! We’re so glad you enjoyed it ✌🏼Don’t forget to celebrate #CarbonaraDay on April 6th by sharing a carbonara with someone you care about 🍝
I have NEVER watched an advert longer than 1 minute on CZcams. Fire
I think, this is the best sort movie i've ever seen ! Continua a diffondere la tradizione !
Very well done. My father was serving in Italy with the New Zealand Forces during this time. He introduced us as children to Spaghetti cooked the Italian way when we were kids. He went to the Opera in Milan after it was liberated and shook the hand of Benamino Gigli the famous tenor.
my town was liberated by the new zealand army, your countrymen left a very good memory. They are remembered as professional, polite and not a single egg was stolen by them. Other places were less lucky than us.
@@alberto_imbrosciano Thank you
This is truly an emotional video.Great acting and touching script. Italians and American have something in common. Love for pleasurable things that add meaning to life. In Pursuit of happiness. It’s in our constitution. Touching clip!!
Intelligent, educational, beautiful. Barilla, you make Italians proud!
Barilla pasta is a big no for italians
This is the most cinematic ad i have ever seen. It compelled me to watch it all the way through. Excellent work!
I've been a chef for 20 years and this brought a tear to my eye. Reminds me why i still cook, every single day ❤💚❤💚
I cook carbonara since i was 14. Never imagined that a carbonara would made me cry at the age of 49... Bravissimi, un capolavoro di cortometraggio.
Grazie Fabrizio! We are thrilled you enjoyed our story. Carbonara always brings joy. 😉
First time I voluntarily search up an ad 👏
I feel like if this was less dramatized this would have been perfect
Mi sono commosso!! 👏
Viva la carbonara 🇮🇹
This is the only add I have actually watched in full and then replayed it twice. 🙂👍 I'm definitely buying Barilla pasta now
I loved this! Congrats to the geniuses who created this masterpiece! ❤️
Sometimes advertising is not only promoting a product ... Sometimes, very few times it conveys many different features. There's so much more in this : CINEMA (such a great playing from Claudio Santamaria and Yonv Joseph), HISTORY (of the 2nd World War), CULTURE (as GASTRONOMY is definitely a part of Italian Culture), MUSIC (Vangelis's HYMNE above all) and PASSION that makes the difference ... I believe that nobody dared to interrupt or to skip the video !!!!
this was actually pretty good, awesome advertisement
Not only did I *not* skip the ad on CZcams, I even came here to watched it again.
Well played, very well played, indeed.
My favorite brand of pasta delivers !
Thank you for your compliments! We are pleased you like it ✌🏼
Omg the quality of this advertisement blew me away
Absolutely brilliant short film very moving ❤
Actually a really nice advert honestly. Really refreshing. 💚
I genuinely forgot what video I was watching and enjoyed this way much more. Haha.
It's rare for me to watch ads like this! Production level is high!
Thank you! 😍 We are glad you liked it. It really takes so little to show care, right?
Was up at 4am the other day with a hangover watching CZcams and this advert came on - honestly I'm in love with it??? An amazing and heartwarming piece of work! Congrats on making an advert that is completely unskippable 🤣💛
Thank you 😍 Carbonara love is strong at any time of the day!
Amazing. First ad I never skipped on. True story. About me I mean.
Bruh, finally a genuinely good ad!
Ottimo cortometraggio. Complimenti!
Halfway through watching this add on a video I realized that I had to find the source and put a like on it. This is art and I love it.
Thank you Peter! We are glad you liked it 😍
Never sat through a 10 minute and before, but there's first time for everything! Incredible work, so glad I didn't skip it :)
Well done!! Your ad is the first i watched the ad that’s 10minyeus long
Plot twist: Robbins and the chef become a couple.
How do you like that, Barilla?

Sto continuando a rivederlo, grandi!
the production values on this are as good as that Warpath mobile game advertistment short film
Wow

Learn, learn what true Italian cuisine is and do not mistreat, do not desecrate the true and unique flavors of Italian cuisine! Follow the tradition! Brava Barilla! Proud of your brand! Beautiful video! Well done!

Only here because I accidentally skipped the ad halfway through when it came up while watching another video. Glad I came though, got to see the comments and join in and congratulate you on a well made and enjoyable short movie.
Brilliant advert! Like most folks, I tend to skip them but something compelled me to watch this. TWICE! 🙌🏾

--
Thank you for joining me and playing Auld Lang Syne on this short film, a beautiful historical reconstruction has been done
Excellent. Wonderful short film.
This is really sweet!
Love this pasta. Cook with it every Tuesday :)
Buon #CarbonaraDay.
Great little movie, but this is just one theory on carbonara's origin. Some others have suggested that pasta cacio e uova (a dish that predates ww2) might actually be the origins of carbonara
Stunning. Great ad.
We had tears in our eyes
Such a great tribute to a dish that has been a great fixture in my meals
brilliant!
I saw this on an ad and now I have a deeply emotional relationship with carbonara
I really enjoyed this, (Advert) I have always skipped but I was enthralled, tomorrow I will eat Carbonara. Thankyou.
Who did you animation ? Lets give them some credit
That's so wonderful video bravo😇😇🥰
🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️I just watched this as an ad too. You get a like from me too. Absolutely brilliant 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Carebonara: Le origini della Carbonara.
Un bacione😘
This was legitimately sweet
I don’t care if it’s an add
Tutte le pubblicità dovrebbero essere così
Viva la Carbonara. Viva l'Italia
I knew that dry pasta was introduced to Italy by the Arabs in the IXth century in Sicilia. I didn't know for the carbonara it was by an American soldier and an Italian chef. I thought it came from the poor neighborhoods of southern Italy "Carbonara" in Puglia Whose capital is bari = Barilla.
Hi JalaneT Auraa, there are several theories about the origin of Carbonara and they are all very different from each other in terms of the inventor of the recipe, place of birth and original ingredients. The most widely accepted is that the recipe was born from the meeting of two distant culinary cultures. Rome, 1944: the military rations of the Allied armies on one side and the traditional Italian products on the other. Carebonara short movie is a fictional story of a legendary recipe, set in an historical background. A story of how willpower, passion and creativity can improve the lives of the many, even if only for the time of a meal.
Arabs didn't introduce pasta of any kind into Sicily.
Walter!
🤯🤯🤯🤯
Bellissimo!
Peccato!

awesome advert
What a rediculous ad with a rediculous premise and a rediculous script.
But goddam did that main actor act the living daylights out of his role
Italia❤
Hahaha very good
why did this go so hard?
This is the Italian comment your searching for.
Never tried carbonara, I'm a macaroni pasta person, but now 🤔🤗💕
Yes, try it, and make it for someone special to you! Happy #CarbonaraDay ❤
Now this is how you do marketing
Noice
Not too bad.
