Thank you! Great sermon. The Sermon on the Mount is the core of Jesus’ message to us. Many people don’t understand it. You are explaining it very very well. Thank you. 😊

I think it takes more "strength" to ask for help; because it takes strength to admit your weak. (Or to be honest, and humble)

I like the introduction and it helped me as I am preparing a series of messages from the same text. But I was blown away that he insulted the church the congregation by explaining to the visitors that he has to break down everything in real simple terms because his church doesn't get it! wow.

I dont see why that should be so shocking. Unless pride is involved. For the apostle Paul stated pretty much the same thing to the church of Rome. Keep in mind paul never met the or preached at rome as he desired to. He didnt plant the church. Only going on word of mouth about the church of Rome from other apostles and disciples. Paul states in Romans 6:19 NASB " I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh..." Which in other word is saying what this pastor said. He has to break it down into analogies due to the weakness of understanding...i say this in kindness and brotherly love. I dont see why it should be shocking that He said that to the church if Paul said the very same thing pretty much. Only if pride is involved. We our weak. Sin effects everything of our being even our minds and inner self. Sometimes we need things broke down as little child do in consistency so we get it. Im not seeing why it should be a issue then. Thanks.

Preaching is hard enough without someone criticizing you for every little thing. He didn’t mean it as an insult at all. And I don’t believe his congregation took it that way. Didn’t he just say blessed are you if you are insulted? So if they were insulted God will bless them. No worries😊

@@jamesking8241 I don't think its the same. Paul had apostolic authority, second he was writing to a church that was under his authority the had many problems which he was addressing in his letter.

@@tanyabrown791 Maybe. But there is a right and a wrong way to communicate correction insulting is not one of them. Meaning to insult them would have been worse, but doing it accidentally shows a lack of experience.

Solomon said it best: "The living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything." We do not go to Heaven when we die. We rest in the grave until the resurrection When Jesus returns. Otherwise, it's a good subject to preach on, the Beatitudes!

I think he couldve went more into what " Blessed " means in greek. Blessed in the greek conveys more then our english word. That we simply take as to mean Favor. But it actually expresses more then Favor . but also conveys inner Happiness ( joy) and inner peace+ God's favor by right relationship to him. Blessed comes from the word Makarios in Greek. Its a inner happiness that isnt dependant on our mood or circumstances...which is where we get or word Happy from (Hap) but is Ruled or based on a unchanging object of faith( God)
Also Poor has the idea of " to crouch down or cowering" adam and eve hid or cowered from the presence of God after eat the forbidden fruit. So to be poor in spirt would speak more the just acts of sin but more or natures or inner self. That we from our inner being have nothing to offer. We are depraved spiritual for obeying , we are weak, do to a warpped nature the gravites toward act's of sin... I think the sermon on the mount speaks of what it is to be Born again( anew) born from above...remember Jesus told Nicodemus that he could see and then enter into the Kingdom of God unless hes born from above. " again in greek has 3 meanings . 1. Reform or to do something over- to repeat. 2.from Above or or anew -from a differant source. 3. It can mean " from the beginning". Its being infused with the Zoe ( life) of God. And its not a one time thing, its continued thing. A way of life.....jyst some helpful points to consider.
