This brand is WAAAY to expensive to be having customer service and shipping issues like this. Luxury products should be handled in a luxury manner from start to finish.
I was able to purchase all as well however i am yet to recieve my space duo I've been emailing however no response but they took the money out my account. I also got my hands on the star wars decadence which i wanted seems like forever now with that purchase i already received shipment, tracking, and delivery date but nothing on my space duos.SMDH i guess my next move will be filing for a refund.

I also ordered the deep space duo on the 13th and have yet to receive any shipping info. Hope i dont have any problem with decadence also 🙄 this launch has me all anxious
My Rose palette arrived broken! Although they put fragile, the post office doesn’t care! But at least PM refunded my money.
Oksana B I purchased a bundle of brushes from Scott Barnes. They were out of 2 of the brushes but sent me the rest, gave me a 10z refund for the delay, still sent me the brushes that were out of stock PLUS gave me 20% off my next order ALL without me asking for anything!! Now that is amazing Customer Service and how folks spending luxury money should be treated. Scott Barnes will certainly be getting more of ,y attention in the future.

The shipping and buying experience has been a total mess for awhile now! I LOVE PM and I’m a huge stars wars fan. I tried to buy everything, couldn’t get anything! It honestly does sour the brand for me, I don’t have a large amount of extra money and am choosey with what I buy-I want the experience to be enjoyable and not a chore or a pain....I hope get team figures it out soon! And makes the buying experience for customers smoother....as much as I love her products and as much I think her eyeshadows are unique and special, they are almost becoming not worth the hassle, there is a lot of competition out there in the makeup industry...I think if she doesn’t get straightened out quickly she may loose a lot of loyal customers 🤷🏻♀️ (and just to clarify; I’m not ‘salty’ just because I couldn’t get it and it sold out; the entire process was a TOTAL MESS!)

Yes! I agree with everything you wrote. I’m a HUGE Star Wars fan & love PMG eyeshadows. I have a very strict budget so I opted out on the 6-pan palettes & hoped to get the Star Wars Decadence palette. I got the email late & the palette was already sold out. Now I don’t have any Star Wars palettes. Extremely upset & disappointed. 😰

dobcsek - that Clionadh collection is insane. I’m not spending my money on repeat shades and “wannabe” unique shades from PM when there is so much better stuff at a better price out there. You can even now swatch and buy Nabla in person at a Morphe store.
Florecita I wish there was a morphe store near me! So I could try the nabla in person! I am super interested in trying the clonidah and also Sydney grace.
Jennifer Lovett Same! I wanted the decadence palette because I have all her other large palettes and I was in the site at the time of launch couldn’t get it in my cart, the email came 9 minutes after lunch and it was already showing sold out for me at that point! NINE MINUTES after it launch time 🤦🏻♀️
For the price of those pallets you absolutely shouldn’t be getting repeats. I am not into Star Wars but I understand a ton of people are upset about the way this launch was handled. I would of liked to get the Devine rose pallet and that was a mess too. She likely could of gotten a ton of new customers with the Star Wars release and instead likely turned people off.
I’m disgusted with PMGs last few launches. Codes late in arriving for those who signed up for early access only to find them already sold out! The company needs to figure out how to do a launch properly before they get any more of my hard earned money!

What were those codes for? Were they discount codes? And how could the palettes be sold out before the codes were sent? I didnt keep up with this launch...
Iris Santos the codes were sent for vip early access. They were supposed to be sent at 8 am EST. Mine was sent at 8:15 am. When I went to purchase the palettes they were sold out. Many people had the same problem or their codes never worked. Access to non vips was at 10 am EST. No products left at this point. There were no limits on how many could be purchased. Now many are being sold on eBay for over 250 dollars

Agreed!! She released the divine rose a few weeks ago, then this Star Wars collection and now the new palette that is coming, but Selfridges already started selling it, 3 launches in a few weeks and all have been a mess... Not that I mind that she releases more frequently, but when she released palettes with a certain time period in between things worked out more smoothly...
Girl I have all her large palettes, 6 pans, and quads and I’m tired of the repeat shades too. ESPECIALLY because she does so many golds, bronze shades, and purples. Can we get an all matte palette or a more grungy green palette? Some bright yellows and oranges? 🙏 I was able to get all 3 Star Wars palettes and Divine Rose but the customer service over the last 5 weeks has been horrendous. I was only able to get Decadence because I was stalking the IG comments for the early access code. I saw someone post it at 8:08 and my email didn’t come in until 8:16 est. What a mess!
Domo it’s sad. I agree. I wish people would stop buying so she would “wake up” if they keep buying , she’ll keep doing this !! Her marketing team sees the money. Ugh. ! Not any shade to anyone for buying. Not at all !

@@louisesharpy I feel that! After all this craziness over the last 2 months with PMG, I'm done collecting every one of her palettes. I'm skipping the Golden Opulence because there are just too many similar shades in her existing line. I really hope her next large palette has all new shades with a unique color scheme to her line 🤞

I agree, I don't hate the folding cover packaging but I hope she keeps the new style of the 6 pans. I feel so bad for the people who weren't able to grab them who wanted them. I hate scalpers/resellers so much (they're a pain when it comes to concert tickets too). My obsessive checking of Instagram paid off because that's where I saw that the palettes dropped. If I'd waited until the official launch time I would've missed out. Same thing with Decadence - except that time I knew to be checking early because of the previous messes.

Yep. I didn't get a passcode and was waiting right at the launch--all sold out. I'm only interested in the Star Wars packaging. I don't have the Decadence palette, but I really like it. Pat lost some potential customers who are also obsessed with Star Wars. Shame.

If it's out of stock and not coming back, she should at least take the advert off her site or put up a note saying that the collection is not coming back. Such a shame. Her products are way overpriced, anyway, and I shouldn't be getting any more palettes as it is. smh
it's really too bad. She's an amazing artist but her website is a joke.

Honestly I wish influencers would stop giving these hyper limited edition releases any air time. Maybe then the brand would change the way they handle these releases. The last two PM releases were a total disrespect to her customers. I understand a limited edition, I don’t understand not having enough stock to even come close to the demand. Totally sours me to the brand. At the end of the day it’s still just make up.
@@dobcsek I agree totally! I just ordered the new Nabla palette for $35, it has 12 shades and 5 different formulas. Indie brands are killing it! PM using repeat shades in these palettes is BS!
I agree. I waited weeks to get the galactic gold, and same I couldn’t get the Decadence and I was so pissed, I have a small channel and at this point I am like I will not bother to make a review on the galactic gold if people can not get it anymore, so what’s the point? 🙄🤷🏻♀️
I agree the “special” shades are dupable. I can get the same look (with less fallout) from the hourglass scattered lights shadows by layering them over other shadows. They are cheaper and don’t require you to play games in order to purchase them.
@@Sparky7775 I have fallen hard for Nabla, and I keep telling people, check out Kaleidos makeup, OMG their shimmers are like silk on the eyes and their customer service is top notch. When I ordered the very first palette they launched and they first got started, it got lost in the mail and they were on it immediately, apologetic and just so kind. I got all of their eye palettes and all are amazing and infinitely more affordable than most brands.
I agree!! No more limited edition nonsense. Make it permanent or don't make it at all.
Thank you for the comparison swatches; you've confirmed my suspicions. I skipped both palettes because it looked like what I already own. Glad for the Nabla dupe too, since that was the only shade that caught my eye. I hope Mothership VIII is more unique because even when she's not repeating shades, her palettes have been too similar.
In all fairness, Nabla released their palette before PM, and I would not call it a dupe just because Nabla more reasonably priced :)

I wonder why everyone has had a different experience with the ordering and shipping process. I received an email and a code and was able to order all three palettes (2 minis and the decadence) Pat needs to get it together before she loses loyal customers.
its weird right? i got my black friday lipsticks a few days after purchase while some people are still waiting for them to ship! what is going on ??!!
I too had no issues buying the mini palettes or lipsticks. As much as these products cost, the experience should be much better. And consistent.
Even though I had a stressful time buying all 3 palettes, they shipped fine (on their end, anyway). However, my CM lipsticks arrived on Christmas Eve.

I skipped this whole launch because I’m sick of her marketing. I have other things to think about other than these separate launch dates. Plus all the hype and changes are frustrating.
I have all of her large palettes and use them. I love the quality but enough is enough. Especially because there are duplicate shades in the new ones. I love the looks you got from these. Especially that look you got from the gold one. But I’m not beating myself up over not having these. And now that I have missed a couple I no longer see myself as a collector. So I’ll be skipping the Lunar New Year one. And possibly more in the future unless she does something radically different. Thanks for this review. Very thorough and helpful. Happy New Year! 💚

I agree with EVERYTHING you said about Pat. I'm tired of the scavenger hunt that comes with her new releases. I'm a Pat McGrath stan and I'm frustrated. I was able to get galactic gold on Instagram and dark galaxy on her website but I was bummed that I missed the bundle option on her website because I was scared that I would miss out.
Now on to the decadence rerelease. I signed up for early access on 4 different emails INCLUDING my work email and I didn't get the code until 10 minutes after the release. Thank GOD for my Pat McGrath Facebook group who gave me the code. I ordered the palette and tried to use the PMG10 code for the 10% discount but it wouldn't work. I was so scared to miss this palette (I dont have the original decadence) that I said screw it I'll just buy it at full price. I just love Pat so much but between palettes being released early and under the wrong names and email and cancellation issues I'm nervous. I love her but for a luxury brand I kind of expect a more refined customer service experience. Idk.

I didn't receive the email until 8:09 am but I was able to get the early access code from someone on Instagram 1-2 min before my email came through. I opened my email that she sent where you can preview the palette and was already at the VIP Early Access screen so that helped me since apparently the email link she sent with the early access code was not working for a lot of people. Email customer service and let them know you forgot to enter the promo code and they'll apply the discount to your order. Just thought I'd share this bit of info to make our Pat McGrath shopping experience a little less stressful if that's even possible 🤯

Mel, I absolutely agree!!! Something has been amiss at McGrath these days. These limited editions have been crazy. Just go onto eBay and see how ridiculous people are selling multiple stacks of these palettes! There should be something set up for her VIP’S and first chance purchased. People should only be allowed so many per purchase. In all honesty, why keep creating such a frenzy with these releases? The only ones who are really making 💸💸💸💸on these, are the ones scamming and selling the palettes twice and triple the price that they were being sold onto eBay . I agree there shouldn’t have been repeated shades. Why not just have taken the two palettes and create one Star Wars Mothership and make it plentiful, so no one had to rush! Stop these drips and drops of limited editions/exclusives palettes, like Selfridges and the palette coming for Chinese New Year. Dearest Mother Pat, really stop pissing your fan base off. McGrath will lose in the end. These products are phenomenal. But, does Pat McGrath really want it coming down to folks just plain aggravated? And other just sucking the joy out of these releases by over purchasing and reselling onto eBay to those who missed out? 🤷🏼♀️That would be most unfortunate & quite preventable! @EricaRay I asked Customer serviceable that ,and they said no since its limited edition ,which really pisses me off,since I was in able to get either and I did everything right when it came to getting on the website etc. I personal!y think she doesn't order enough into production to meet the demand, and she should know better! At this point it is souring me on even considering ordering/purchasing from her at all! I'm just really put off, and tired of the nonsense....

I agree with you on everything you said about the current PMG situation. That's why I did not order anything from the Star Wars collection although I love Star Wars and I have all PMG pallets until now.

Because it’s an easy cash grab. Especially when it’s a collab and little thought was put into all of the aspects.
I mean, the SW Mothership palette being a repackage of a previous one is as lazy as it gets. At least the mini palettes had space colors, although they could have drawn a lot more inspiration from so much in SW in general. The low effort really reminds me of the GoT collection by Urban Decay.
I do like these palettes and only grabbed Dark Galaxy because those colors spoke to me, and I only have two of her Mothership palettes.
@@mlareine327 To be fair, I'm one of those PML fans who discovered her brand late and have been begging her to re-release Decadence. So for me, having it come out in shiny limited Star Wars packaging was just the cherry on top 🍒
Coco Violet No, just because you missed out on the original Decadence palette doesn’t mean PML wasn’t doing the bare minimum.
My point remains the same. Decadence re-released in its original packaging would have been understandable. Star Wars packaging on an already released palette is still lazy and a cash grab.
I never received the code. I'm a huge PMGStan residing in Europe. Customer service always gets back to me pronto. I guess because I'm always on her IG replying to her posts. I was primed and ready an hour before the release. No code was sent. I kept waiting. 3 minutes after the release, I DMed PMGLabs and they sent me the code immediately. I didnt have any issues purchasing. On the other hand, what you described with the loading page is exactly what happened with selfridges. Although I wouldnt pay any custom duties if I just waited for the release in the UK, I will never buy from selfridges. I spent an hour trying to purchase Divine Rose. Thankfully, I could purchase on Pat's website. All in all, I have had good luck purchasing on Pat's website. I'm still waiting for my star wars collection to arrive in Amsterdam (it just cleared customs in the UK - woo hoo!). I still love Pat so much and I actually think her team is pretty good. I think the collaboration with Lucas films just went haywire 🤷♀️ She tried to do something special with Divine Rose, which could have been planned better. I hope she hears everyone's complaints because it does take away for the luxury experience and is now becoming frantic purchasing. Once she gets the overhyped stamp...she could be canceled 🙈 You know how that goes 😒
You were spot on for calling ND out on repeat shades. Being a Star Wars fan I would have tried to make shades that fit the story better than purple and pink. Very disappointed in ND color selection. Mel thank you for the tutorial especially while you are ill.💖
I live in Clarksville and this weather is 🌋. I have menieres disease and my dizziness gets awful when the weather is like this. I feel you. Hope you feel better soon.
antoniac1234 so sorry to hear that. I never knew it could be cold weather induced. I have very bad vertigo and have to sleep on a wedge, my dentist leaned me back one and the vertigo lasted 3 days...I know that awful feeling..hope it goes away soon!!!! 🌺
I’m new to Pat McGrath makeup and feel lucky because I didn’t have much trouble getting some of the Star Wars collections (other than the access code email arriving late for the Decadence palette). I fell in love with her packaging and the formulas are really smooth, but I’m also disheartened by the MANY issues so many have had, or are experiencing with her customer service. I was scared to hear about emails cancelling orders and not receiving refunds! I’d like to purchase more, but will wait (my wallet will thank me) until I see improvement.

I was done with PML after the Divine Rose palette debacle. I just feel like the company has not been honest or transparent these past few months. They continue to create FOMO and it just feels like the company doesn’t care about their loyal customers. I know at the end of the day it’s about making money - it’s a business - but I just don’t respect the way PML is doing business these days. I’m definitely done for the foreseeable future. 100% agree. I’ve never been all that interested in the PM palettes until Divine Rose, and then it was so hard to get, followed by more hard-to-get releases - this is totally unnecessary creation of FOMO by a brand that doesn’t have any trouble selling very expensive products to a devoted customer base. It’s pretty simple math - PMG could make enough palettes for everyone who wants them and make TONS of money. I really don’t understand a business model that pisses off customers and ensures less profit in the process.

I'm so glad I've never jumped on the Pat McGrath train. It feels like she's turning into the new colourpop with the constant new releases and for a company that is so expensive I feel that's a bad move idk. I agree repeat shades are tacky especially when the palettes are as expensive as they are.
I dipped my toes in the PM waters with a lip gloss a few months ago. It retails for $30; I got it on sale for $24 with free shipping. For that price, I expected the heavens to open and angels to sing. Honestly, it’s just an average product. So I refuse to be sucked into buying her ridiculously overpriced eyeshadow!

I was lucky enough to be up at 5am so I managed to snag both from Selfridges, they should be on my doorstep by tomorrow, I hope!
I also managed to snag the decadence palette this time, I missed both previous launches of it and was trying to purchase it on eBay with no luck, so I’m actually really thankful to be able to have it now.
I saw your video about which brushes should be used with Pat McGrath’s eyeshadows, and wanted to ask if you know of any dupes for them with Sigma brushes?
I’d also love to see more looks with decadence!

I missed out on both & can feel your pain with setting alarms. The first release was 4am Australian time, so I was up at 3.30, the 2nd was at midnight.
From the comments on social media there are a lot of unhappy PMG customers & can’t blame them.

I have the Metalmorphsis and Divine Rose. I would have liked to have the Decadence in the Star Wars packaging, but I just couldn't afford to get a 2nd expensive palette so close to Christmas. However, sounds like the launch was mayhem so I'm glad I didn't bother.

YES! I received my MS palette and one of the shadows fell out!!👀👀 At 125$ I was pissed!! I was also upset because I ordered one of the mini palettes and they had to send me a refund because it was out of stock! I emailed them, and received an immediate response 👍🏾However, it took a while to receive a replacement
I guess I lucked out. I woke up the day they were released and bought what I wanted from the collection, without an issue. Did take forever to ship as I just got mine in yesterday. This was my first PM purchase, and while I love so many of her palettes that came before this, I just couldn’t pass up the Galactic Gold or the Gold Astral lip stick. I’m a geek of many hats so makeup (good makeup) collaboration with Star Wars was an easy buy for me. So glad you got it and gave us that demo!! 💛

Great review. I passed all the collection due to colors repeats and just was not into it, but I can see why people are upset that it was sold out so fast. There is a lot of indie companies that can actually match PM quality, like Looxie, Adept, Kaleidos Makeup or Clionadh and these companies have much more variety of shades and good customer service.
I just wanted to say that my 7 year old daughter loves you and thinks you're so pretty. She's always asking if I'm watching your videos.

I am so upset that I missed these two palettes even though I had alarms set for the IG release for the Galactic Gold, the actual release (nvr got the email!!) and even checked multiple times an hour for the Selfridges launch that was over a day late, no communications, no notification on their app or IG,
Now, they’re running $150 to $500 a piece!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
PS... THANK YOU for doing the comparisons! I too own all of Pat’s palettes and the Nabla 2 and now I feel so much better knowing these shades in both palettes are so similar to what I already have!! 🎉
While I am a die hard Star Wars and Pat McGrath fan, I was over the top thrilled for the launch, but in the end I can get similar looks from my own collection. I do agree with you ...for such a luxury brand 1) enough with the repeat shades 2) enough with the launch FOMO hype coupled with messy launches. 3) fix the customer service problems 4) fix the forecasting so there’s plenty of new palettes/stock to go around 5) limit new release to no more than 2 per order.

Hubby presented me with these as Christmas presents. The gold palette was damaged and I was heart broken. Apart from that... I love these with the exception of the repeat shades. I’m a PMG palette hoarder so I would appreciate new shades in every palette.
Mel, so mad that you didn’t get the new decadence palette. I managed to get one because I was stalking the comment section on Instagram where someone releases the VIP code. I didn’t receive the email until I was already checking out and I guess those few seconds where enough. I had no idea people have been having such a hard time with the brand. I have always been able to get products and her shipping is super fast for me (I’m on the east coast). I got my lipsticks within a few days. Watching all of the comments come in on her Instagram post made me sick inside knowing so many weren’t able to get it and then seeing the palette already for sale on eBay 😤. She has to come up with a better way to ensure more people have access to these releases. Loved the eye looks.
Soleil Natural i agree, there were already so many posts on eBay by resellers selling decadence before it was even released for 3 times the original price!
Limited edition items should have been limited to 1 per customer, that way it would have at least limited eBay resellers from purchasing more than one at a time.
MyKit M It’s crazy, and today I saw there are already a few sales posts for Golden Opulence for $250+ and the one on eBay lists they have 8.
J C unbelievable! PMG needs to start limiting customers to purchase only 1 palette. These resellers are literally foiling the opportunity of legitimate customers from purchasing from PMG and I doubt they can provide any insurance of the palette is lost in the mail or arrives damaged.
No mattes, no problem! - Mel T. haha, I knew you'd have no issues without them. I too am so frustrated by the PMG issues. I didn't get my orders for weeks on end :( I truly think they know that no matter what, people will continue to purchase and purchase. So there's not much motivatiion to change.
I had the same issue with the new release of the decadence pallet.. I kept trying but it did not let me go through.. 😢😢

Great review Mel!! Thank you for the comparisons!! Makes me feel better about not having the mini palettes. I was able to grab Decadence. However, this release, regardless of the palettes being completely sold out, has been a total failure. Pat should not be calling this a success seeing as most of her customers are frustrated and her customer service team has not been helpful at all. They need to regroup, go over lessons learned, re strategize and deliver great service next time.
Gorgeous looks ( as always!) and I agree with you about the repeat shades - it makes these palettes seem like a cash grab kinda. PM is lucky that her beautiful products have bought her more patience from customers then other companies are often afforded!

I had the exact same experience with trying to add to bag on the 26th. I reached out to the customer service email multiple times with no response so I finally reached out on instagram. So now the palette is on the way with discount and free shipping. Give it a shot!

I’ve had the flu which triggered my asthma into full blown bronchitis for 3 weeks & now I’m down & out w/ ‘walking pneumonia’ (I’m not walking 😪🤒)! Then Mother Pat & her shenanigans re Decadence on Thursday! Although she/staff took my email & address & told me she was going to help me in a DM...I was beyond shocked but an hour later I was ‘updated’ to keep an eye on my email for a undisclosed site I’ll be able to order it from so🤷🏼♀️take it for what it’s worth!

I am so glad that I am not the only one that is upset with the Decadence situation. I got my early access code as soon as it came in my email and I went to purchase the palette immediately. Once I got to the site, the "add to bag" button wouldn't do anything! It was completely glitched out. This was right at the start of early access, so I know it wasn't sold out yet, but due to their website glitching out, I wasn't able to get the palette. I have reached out to customer service and I haven't heard a single word. Really disappointing and frustrating because I wasn't able to get this palette during the original release in 2018. Also, I love watching your videos, especially knowing that you are from the Nashville area too! You give the best/most honest reviews and I appreciate you!
Yes I’m very frustrated because I did not get either mini palette. And I was even on the early access email.
I had the exact experience as you with Star Wars/ Decadence. And I’m not even into Star Wars. From the alarm to the hour-long mission while I fought with the website. I am over it!

I lived on the island of Kauai, Hawaii for 9 years (Kauai is considered the wettest spot on Earth) Our saying was “No rain- no rainbows”. And if you don’t like the weather wait 20 minutes- that’s literally how long it would rain every day.
I agree with the Decadence launch I was so stressed that day and it’s frustrating when things sell out in two minutes.
Had to have both of these I agree about the shades repeating for the price they shouldn’t repeat but do love these I saw on her website to sign up for the mothership Limoges edition Star Wars for when it comes back in stock of your still wanting it! Love your looks!😊❤️
Hi Mel! These 2 looks you did are so Beautiful as per usual! 😍 I was able to get all of the Star Wars Palettes! It was crazy the way she released them on different days, but that of coarse gets people worked up and causes the Buzz around her brand! Maybe she only went on how many likes and comments they received on their posts? As far as the amount of palettes were made, and she could defenintly do a restock? There are plenty of brands that sell LE products, but then restock them, like Tom Ford for instance...I've had no problems at all with CS in fact, they were extremely helpful to me and went out of their way to help me!
Thank you Mel for referencing the close dupes. I love the looks you have created with these palettes but I just don't want to deal with all this unnecessary drama PM. Now I can recreate those looks with my current PM palettes. No need to spend extra money for repeat shades 😬
I especially loved the first look, that red looks amazing on you. It’s one of my favorite colors for eyeshadow and the one I’m the most sad about missing out on.
I feel the same way about Gold Galactic. The color story is phenomenal although three shades are repeats! I don't have Metalmorphis so that does work for me.
