Norwegian:
Hurra for deg som fyller ditt år!
Ja, deg vil vi gratulere!
Alle i ring omkring deg vi står,
og se, nå vil vi marsjere,
bukke, nikke, neie, snu oss omkring,
danse for deg med hopp og sprett og spring,
ønske deg av hjertet alle gode ting!
Og si meg så, hva vil du mere?
Gratulere!
I am Norwegian, from Norway. Born and raised. I live in Oslo, with my husband and two sons.

The fact that you pronounce it slowly is really useful. Thank you!
My 16yo niece watches Skam and started a Duolingo Norsk course, so I just sang her this song especially for her... She loves me now. Takk. This video was very helpful!
This sounds a lot happier than the traditional English birthday song! :)
Yes i like it! With the moves and stuff :D
Wait, the moves and stuff "belongs" to it? @@NorwegianTeacher
Hurray, for you have fulfilled the year, we want to congratulate you.
All of us stand around in a circle, see now we march around you.
Bow and nod and curtsey twirling around, dancing for you and leaping off the ground.
We wish from the heart that all the good things be found, and surely what more could you ask for? Congratulations.
Just a short melodic English version I came up with :)
Takk skal du har for det.
My hubby is a Norwegian, I asked him to sing the Norwegian birthday 🥳 song and he doesn’t even know the song 😂 Thanks to you! I had to show him your video and he starts singing along 😅😄
Skam episode 8 season 4 sqad where are you at :-D
Blanka Gałkowska Heereee hahaha
Blanka Gałkowska HEREEE HAHAHAHA
Blanka Gałkowska that is exactly why I am searching this 😂😂😂
OMG HEREEEE HEREEEEE HEREEEEE!!!! :')
I’m here because that hahaha
I would merrily receive that song every year that passes by. It is much prettier and meaningful than the simple, traditional Happy birthday to you song everybody sing.
Takk for det! I love Norway and this sounds so much more interesting than the normal 'happy birthday' song :D might take me a few tries to sing it naturally though :)
Tusen takk! 💐 🎂 🥂
Dette lagde meg glad! I couldn't help but laugh when you broke out into dance. Takk.
Takk Karin. Det er veldig hjelpsom. :)
Takk, I am a US American who does speak another language, That language is German. I have a good friend who is Norwegian and from Bodo. Like you. their English is exceptional and they don't expect me to speak Norwegian, but I like to try. It's a beautiful country and I was humbled by how kindly everyone treated me.

Very useful the slow part! Please do more!

I'm half Norwegian and half danish (I live in Denmark and speak mostly Danish) and my family sang this for me on my birthday is was hella confused at first lolol
J’adore
Quelle langue !
i think I've learnt it by heart, lol
haha this is good to see ! :D
Haha ^^ thank you!
Takk
I'm supposed to sing this to somebody for their b-day tomorrow. If it weren't for the fact that I speak some Swedish, I'd be in deep "dritt". Still, I'm kinda rusty, so wish me good luck! :D Thanks a lot for this effort, tho!
Martín González Devia Lykke til! :D It will be awesome :D
:D det hoppas jag (sorry, I intend to pick up Norwegian someday!) Takk, Karin!
Norwegian Teacher - Karin HAHAHAHAA, OKAY, so after a few tries I "got" it (of course I didn't get it right, but I did it the best I could, given that this person's b-day is today and I'm really tired from yesterday and my "nordic" pronunciation isn't at its best right now xD). I'd like to share it with you (it's an audio file) so you can listen to my version. =P
Älskar den, mycket bättre än den svenska födelsedagslåten!
Dear Karin, I love they way you presented the Happy birthday song. Could you please do the same with the song Kjerringa med Staven? Also with
Jeg er så glad hver julekveld - Nå Tennes Tusen Julelys, Julesanger? We are singing them in English at our church Faith Lutheran on Christmas Eve and I would like to share the norsk version of these songs with (choir) them. In Christ, Kathleen
your sond very beautiful
이영상이 도움이 되었어요 친구 생일날 불러줄거예요 고맙습니다
Nice video:) I wish you would speak more norwegian to us. Could you do an "easy" video in norwegian?
Where is the translation? You said there would be a translation in the description. By the way, thank you for doing this - it was very helpful!
Thanks a lot! Nice song. F E L I CI D A D E S ao aniversariante! E a todos os aniversariantes aqui e no mundo! uhhhhhh huuuuh ; ) direto aqui do Brasil
Very good and melodic wishes. But I find it a bit strange that in the Norwegian birthday's song version, there is no mention of the exact name that celebrates (For example in the English version, it says : _'Happy Birthday to you x2, Happy Birthday dear [_*_insert name_*_], Happy Birthday to you_..." So in English, there is always a personalised nominal reference to the person that celebrates. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
"Happy Birthday to you x2, Happy Birthday dear [insert name], Happy Birthday to you..." We have the same thing in Italy
Norwegian people are funny. i love it 😂
Kult
Lol its different when lee tergersen said happy birthday in norweigan.
This is really cool;P
Not too dorky? ^^
Actually I think it's really helpful 'cause we can learn more vocabulary:)
😍😍😍😍😍😍
great video, do more very useful.
Great video Karin! :) Say, would you know what dialect they speak in and around Tønsberg? Found out I have relatives who came from there
Hey thanks :) Bokmal is the one similar to Danish, yes? A little disappointed though, I thought maybe it would be some folksy old-fashioned dialect like they speak in the fjords to the west :D
I see someone have answered you already! :) And yes, many of the places close to oslo speak bokmål! :)
Thank you too Karin :) So I guess it's Bokmål for me!
Did you meet them?
Hey, we'll some get some visitors from norway and we would like to sing a song to thank them, can you advise me a song ( very simple if possible) thank you ❤️
🌹🌷👍

jajajajajajaja, bukke, nikke, neie for deg tusen takk x tusen
I'm never again going to sing that DREADFUL happy birthday song in English. Five words total and it sounds like a dirge.
That last “woo” was kinda goofy but still OK.
hey Karin, I was reading you rblog, and it soundslike you ordered you rwedding dress on ebay? Can you share some more info on that? Like a review? I woul dbe interested !
haha! That is right! I got it for almost nothing from China on ebay! ANd it was absolutely perfect! Maybe I should make a post about it! :D
Crienexzy - Norwegian Teacher Yes, please make a post, I would really like to know because I am thinking of doing the same!!
A German audiobook brought me here
One thing I find grammatically confusing (very little Norsk knowledge here) is the use of the infinitive here, instead of an active verb or even an imperative. Would anyone care to comment?
Marsjere....;)
Is this Nynorsk?
you would not like to learn Spanish and Japanese with a Latino who lives in Japan, I'll be waiting for your answer
Du har pen lyden...og du må prøve å senge....hhh jeg tuller ..
Norwegian and french's pronounciation never make sense to me. Help xD
Takk for inspirasjonen! czcams.com/video/-7quA7d2d_g/video.html
'The worst person in the world' bring me here. :) gratulere
why can any Norwegian sing?!!
+Annalisa A lol
10 minutes before my lady friends birthday, I leave it till ten minutes before. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SIMPLE DAMN IT!
I'm gonna lose the love of my life and die alone behind this crap... Or just stick with mono-lingual English speakers.
This is reminding me why I hated languages at school - I was not good at them straight away they were therefore pointless and a waste of my time. Solid logic.
@@mooseofdeath001 English is a language.
