John Barrowman joins Lorraine in the studio for his first TV interview since leaving the Dancing on Ice panel and addresses his behaviour on the set of Dr Who. As well as that, John is returning to our screens this winter in the new series of All Star Musicals, he's going back on tour next year and he shares his tips and tricks for this year's I'm a Celeb campmates.

I hope his career continues 'cause he's a fantastic actor and he seems like a genuinely fun guy to be around. I loved him in Doctor Who. His character shines through and it's a friendly, silly, excitable character, not a creep.
Sadly I don’t think that’s the case because since the allegations came out he’s been getting fewer roles because he hasn’t really appeared in anything the last two years. He wasn’t asked back for Jodie’s final Doctor Who episode or the Dr Who 60th Anniversary Specials. I’m worried his career might never recover despite his claim that the accusations were blown out of proportions and despite the fact that most of his fans were willing to forgive him. He said in a recent Instagram video that the last couple of years have not been easy for him. He might actually be blacklisted/cancelled.
John isn't a creep. He didn't touch anybody just John being silly. Good guy. Love John. ❤❤

The media & newspaper scum bags who tried to drag John down are disgusting!! He is a lovely human being!, very talented, makes everyone laugh, a VERY talented actor, great singer! He was just having fun and being himself! And nothing he ever did was meant in a sexual context, He didn't deserve any of the crap he had to go through!

He's Scottish but moved to the Chicago 'burbs as a kid; both accents are "authentic" :)

He was born in Scotland and he moved to America when he was 8 or 9. He was bullied at school because of his accent and instead of letting it be, he thought "Hey, I can play that game too" and he learnt how to speak with an American accent.

I will always love John. We all change over the years and things change. What was ok years ago changes and we all have to adjust. We can’t go back in time and change things.

He seems to be a guy who didn’t mean harm but just took his eccentric behaviour too far. He screwed up and should apologise but he’s not a bad guy.

The thing is it wasn't acceptable back then either? Julie confirmed she received complaints and JB was reprimanded for these bahaviours back in 2008, like on set. I love him and I've no doubt he didn't have an ounce of malicious intent and the point about changing and growing makes sense, but I feel part of that should be to be able to recognise the harm that was done. It wouldn't be a new apology anyway, JB released a statement saying he apologised back then too. Asking him to apologize now is just asking him to recognise that apology. I wish he had just said he still feels sorry about it and wouldn't do it now. It's better than getting defensive about it.@@FlyingMonkies325
He doesn't need to apologize to the public. If the behavior crossed a line the apology would be owed to the people there at the time.😊

this is the first time I have heard JB with his native Scottish accent.
I think all of this has been totally unfair to John and he is a good actor and hope he is getting work now as I didn’t even know any of this had happened.
He wrote about it in his books, and talked about it at various comic con panels, going back 10 years, and nobody seemed to say a thing then. It's a hit job.
Problem is, thats the standard that has been set by the modern day "activists". You can't even joke around. Then again, he ought to know better this day and age than to do what he did.

Yep. Normally he keeps his Scottish accent just for his relatives and friends and he switches to American with the rest of the world. But it seems that he made a rare exception here.

You cannot apply today's values to a situation that happened 15 years ago. Sexual harrassment is UNWANTED advances. If all parties are just having fun (as they were), then there is no issue.

I didn't realize he was Scottish, I have thought all along that he was Canadian.
People actually knew about this years ago; John even mentioned it in his autobiography, and the girl who replaced Billie Piper in Dr Who (Sorry, can't remember her name) mentioned it in an interview many years ago. Why are people waiting 15 years to reveal their pitchforks? I don't by any means condone what John did, but people should stop digging up the past and using it as a ticket to jump on the cancel culture train.

It’s all about consent. If nobody’s feeling wronged, I don’t know what the problem is. Obviously “it was a different time” is a stupid argument, because at one time it was perfectly acceptable to own slaves. You can’t chalk that up to a “different time.” But if there are no victims, there is no crime. What did he do exactly? Flirt with people? That’s kind of his character on the show.

@@atadbitahistory9660 He doesn’t “put it on”, he’s bidialectal so both accents come natural to him depending on who he’s speaking to.
