Over the years, several countries have experimented with the concept using aircraft known as "ground effect vehicles". Given that many designs need the ground effect to be able to fly, these could arguably be referred to as "ground planes".

When I was little, I thought flying was so magical that part of me thought it was fake and that the plane was traveling on the ground. My brain had a hard time comprehending how surreal it was to fly. Now I'm studying aerospace engineering to design flying machines

High speed rail can essentially replace shorter plane journeys, being a far more convenient, economical and environmentally friendly mode of transport with only slightly longer journey times (especially when you include airport check-in and security times). They really should have completely replaced short domestic (or even international) flights by now, but the airline industry is too powerful for that to be allowed to happen. In the UK it takes almost exactly the same time to fly between London and Edinburgh as it does by train, but far too many people still choose to fly because the government has neglected rail for so long while investing in airlines. If a true, well funded high speed rail line was opened between them, it could kill off the domestic plane routes for good.

I feel like the meaning of this is that he doesnt want to leave his comfort zone (the ground) even though what he's going through (the plane flight) normal requires him to go into the air (out of his comfort zone), he also mentions that should things not go his way he would go back to the ground (return to his comfort zone) and has said many times that he prefers the ground.
Some evidence of this is when he says that the trip there is smooth and clear rather the with ups and downs he means that staying on the ground is much easier. Bags empty and schedule cleared might mean that staying on the ground was simplier and his schedule would not have any events on and his would have to "pack" anything.
Should you have a different opinion please do comment, why am I trying to make sense of something I would see when I'm as bigh as a kite, I dont know.
Bigh is intentional, its a joke, I know it ruins the joke but some people might not get it and I dont want to get someone correcting my spelling even though I probably spelled something else wrongly.

I love how you can't predict any aspect of his videos. When he started with his 3D animations, we were like "oh that's a thing he can do now" and expected that to be the new direction of his craft. On his website Bill has a question page and people frequently ask him what his favorite video/song he's done is. His answer is always the same: "i would prefer to make a new one to be my favorite" and it really seems like he always works with that in mind.
Obviously we all have our favorites (mine are here comes the sun and Mount St. Helens is about to Blow Up), but each new song Bill makes sounds like he's trying to push the envelope a little bit and do something a little different from what came before.

Due to labor shortages after 2020 some airlines, most notably major US carriers like American Airlines and United, are using or at least considering shuttle busses for certain short-haul routes. Sort of similarly, many major airports in Europe are slightly outside the cities they serve (including my city's airport, Amsterdam Schiphol) and operate train or bus services between the airport and city.
Man after watching these for so many years….each one has the exact same charm it did when I first discovered them. There really isn’t much out there that’s like this, which is good because these are one of a kind….it’s got this nostalgic feel I can’t explain.
