I mentioned in the video a few reasons. The wear on chain is very minimal but the main reasons is accuracy and safety if one of the log segments were to fall in it could knock me off ladder and as mentioned I get a more accurate cut from having that big log segment moving around while Im just about all the way through with my saw, those two reasons in my opinion are worth the extra time.
