  • Hey Everyone! Thank you for being here today.
Today’s piece is inspired by: an idea of using the same colour but using two techniques to experiment and demonstrate what designs can be created using the same palette. This is Part 1 - The Dutch Pour.
    Technique used: Dutch Pour
What I learnt: Mont Marte as a base really crates pearls and cells even without a cell activator.
    Colour palette:
    Pebeo: iridescent precious gold
Mont Marte: titanic white (for the base)
    Winsor & Newton: Winsor Blue
Daler Rowney: Titanium white and Phthalo Green
Time Stamps: If you want to go to a specific section of the video, here are the main segments:
01:00 A look at the colors
01:32 A look at the canvas and my thinking
01:50 Layering the base coat and my tips about the base coat
    04:20 Layering the color
    05:50 Blow out
    08:40 Wet look
09:30 Changed my mind! Blow out again
    10:40 Wet look
    11:50 All dry!
Hair/Blow Dryer: I currently use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting unless I specify otherwise.
I have a video that shows you how I mix my paints for various techniques: • Fluid Acrylic Pouring ...

Also...Ive heard few artists reiterate how important it is to use different brands together (if you want cell type reaction). So you are totally correct why you get those type cells. I used to use just one or 2 brands I favored...then about 7 months ago switched to mingling different brands and WOW...no longer have to worry about a thing!

    Mark,
I was so glad 😃 when you made the decision to blow it out a little more to get that blue to come up through the other colors/the white base!! IT IS GORGEOUS!!! ❇Well done, bravo, another masterpiece!!! I love watching you evolve!! And, kudos for taking your time...this makes you an excellent teacher! I think when many are trying this new technique/style of painting, like myself when I started this two years ago, we get so excited and anxious 🤔🤨😝 to see what we have created - wondering if what we have mixed is actually going to result into something beautiful - we get rushed and do not take our time 😤😩.... I really enjoy watching your videos, and you inspire me to do more of my own. (it's been a while since I have created any pours). I got a little burned out❤‍🔥 and it seemed like everyday I was making more of a mess at home in my office (which, incidentally, has turned into a PAINT CLOSET over the past year and a half), and I was becoming impatient with the artists' and their videos I (Still) follow on CZcams. That is not to say that I have lost interest in the hobby, but I was losing the spark, the passion of it all. You have ignited it once again ♨🌡🕯and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! 💖 Gratitude from NW Ohio! 👍🙏 keep making your incredible videos and sharing your talent with the world!!

    • @MarkJRatcliffeArt
      @MarkJRatcliffeArt  Před 2 lety +1

Wow Megan!!! Your words are so kind and it makes me so happy I have helped a little to reignite that spark and passion in pour painting for you. Thank you so so much for taking the time to write and provide me with feedback and to also let me know a little about yourself. When I make my videos I always think, right… what would I want to know the most from this one and what can help the person also trying to master this technique. So thank you again so much. Big hello to USA - I love your country 😊💙🙏
