  • The sway bar or anti roll bar or stabilizer link is a simple but important part of your car which contributes to giving the car a precise and steady handling.
    When the ball joints get worn they will loosen up and you will here a cloncking noise when going over irregularities and while cornering.
    It's really simple to replace so don't hesitate !

    I would like to congratulate you on an excellent instruction video on changing the stabaliser bar. First class and your explanations are amongst the best I have ever viewed, including the nut / tool size requirements. Your english is excellent. Well done and thank you I will be attempting this in 2-days with some confidence now.

      You're welcome, hope it will go well for you. If you lift both wheels at the same time the sway bar will come of very easily ;¬).

  • @kimogsus
    @kimogsus Před 7 lety

    You do not need the extender at around 3:00 if you lift up both front wheels, then the sway bar is not pressing at all. I used an angle grinder to remove the old link as it was too rusty to loosen up.

    What kind of OBD scanner do you use for your Peugeot 206? I have a 1.4i from 2000 and my OBDII scanner connects but cannot read any data. Thanks.

    Hi, first off thanks for your great tutorial videos. I have a question: After replacing the 2 sway bars (both sides) it will be necessary to perform wheel re-alignment, e.g., caster/camber/toe in a specialized shop?

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi, you're welcome ! Glad you found it usefull ;). You don't have to do a wheel alignement after a sway bar change.

    • @crpth1
      @crpth1 Před 7 lety

      Rogério NDJr - No it's not needed because of the stabilizer change, BUT if the stabilizers are in need of change most probably other parts are also on the their way out (bushings, ball joints, etc.) meaning that you should at least check the wheel alignment. A good flat strait road it's good to evaluate. Be aware that most roads have a slope to either side, so choose wisely. Your tires also show quite well if anything it's not perfect. ;-)
      Based on that you can decide to do it or not. Be well.

    Hi there, I wonder if you can help me repair or replace gear linkages as the gear shift was very loose and today came out of gear. I saw that the bushes are no longer there and it has separated from the shifter/gear lever bar. I hope this makes sense.

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      Hi, I had the same problem on an other car. I recommend you buy new links because if they poped out once it's only a matter of time before they pop out again. It's pretty easy to change, use a long screwdriver or something else to lever the rod balls out of the heads. Use some pliers to put the new ones easily in place.

    • @sandisilesomnono2042
      @sandisilesomnono2042 Před 7 lety

      Oh ok, thanks. I'll get them on the weekend. Do I need both the long and the short links?

    • @sandisilesomnono2042
      @sandisilesomnono2042 Před 7 lety

      Ok thanks. Should I get both long and short links or can I still just get the bushes? I noticed that the links are not holding & i used cable ties to hold them together tight for now.

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety +1

      I did the same thing at first, cables to jold them together ^^. If you want to have peace of mind replace the long and short ones. It's not very expensive and will save you the hassle of doing it later.

    Hi there i have a 206 it sometimes gives a catalytic converter fault whilr driving at certain speed.. do you know anything about this and how to fix it please ? Could be of real help

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      Hi, do you mainly do short distances ? If it's the case it could be the problem. The catalytic converter needs to be at a certain temperature for a certain time to work efficiently. If you can, do a long drive with it and see if it can solve the problem.

    • @ShabbirHussain-rv4lr
      @ShabbirHussain-rv4lr Před 7 lety

      my shortest drive distance is 30 km which i do normally every day of the week.. if the weather is hot outside, the car makes the noise as if the ac is turned on(but its not) and temp goes above 100 sometimes.. i hve changed the coolant as well but no work.. i have tried longer distances as well but no use as the car broke down twice in a week now.. any idea? thanks for reply

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      OK, maybe your water pump is getting tired but first check the engine fan. Does it turn on when the temp goes up ?

    • @ShabbirHussain-rv4lr
      @ShabbirHussain-rv4lr Před 7 lety

      i have no idea bro where it could be, but i will surely google it and check if its working and then will tell you.. do you have any videos regarding that?

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      Sorry, I don't have a video concernaing that, the 206 is not mine so I don't often fix things on it. You should find waht you need on the net. Good lick.
