- Konk rocked the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the 80's, playing with greats such as ESG, Liquid Liquid, Bad Brains, Bush Tetras, Sonic Youth and many more. Konk Party was a hit on WKTU, WBLS and WLIR.
Live shows every weekend included Danceteria, Mudd Club, CBGB, The Loft, Paradise Garage, the Pyramid Bar, 8 BC and many more...
Produced and Directed by Ed Steinberg, of RockAmerica. The next weekend he shot Madonna's "Everybody" -

Heard this at The Paradise Garage on a Friday night...played early will always attach the PG to this song.
I was just thinking of this song in my head and wondered if anyone posted it on CZcams. I HAD NO IDEA OF VIDEO EXISTED OF THIS SONG!!!! What a surprise. I used to listen to those stations back in the early 80s but I remember it used to get a lot of air play on WNYU. That's where I heard it first and specifically remember it from Thanks for posting this rare gem!!

Straight from the vinyl, which is just fine. Note that this early video with its less than sophisticated production was pretty standard for the day for any band, so don't blame KONK for the naive look. That said, one thing this vid does not really capture if how exciting it was to see KONK. People hit the floor, dancing. EVERYBODY, and the dance floor was jammed and it was the bomb! Love KONK!
