Totally agree. Someone somewhere will decide your worth in monetary form. Most remain always unknown or barely scraping by despite amazing talent, be it what form it may of art, and at the same time an original can of soup is one of THE most important pieces of modern art 🎨.. It's never 'just a matter of taste', most people that have that hanging on the wall as a photocopy print, its meant as a joke and talking subject on the - who gets to decide if and what you earn as an artist. For me personally it was never possible to pursue any kind of career in anything artistic although i always knew that - I'm an artist, and will never be anything but, no matter what i have to do to LIVE through this life and Task of starting it way back when my limited reascources didn't even stretch to buying a pack of cigs. No, i was never in the gutter but what i'm saying is - a Madonna ( for example) had a Way way WAAY bigger chance to become famous on her form of art in the U. S in the 70s-80s than i would ever have as a young woman in Finland. Lets face it.. It's not all together about 'luck' or ' good enough' or being followed by some lucky star, it is also and more than anything about where you were born, your background, and family and rescources and a milliin other things. I can at 58 safely say i have never lived a day of my life on my art, but plenty of people wanted to _ Ooohhh i love your paintings! Can you paint me one? Yeah.. Maybe, what kibd, what material, what size, what theme, how much are you willing to pay? - Pay?? 🤔 And thats how the story ends here. Thanks for a very good comment. 💗👌

Patrick and his producers: Jean Vanloo and Jean Claude Pellerin decided that instead of using her to back them up, they would turn her into their own project as a disco star herself. Ms Ciccone accepted the offer to go to France. She traveled with Hernandez. They were in Tunisia, spent few days in Vanloo's villa in Belgium. I heard that she was with him during his show in club in south of France. They lived together in apartment on Boulevard de Courcelles 32 in Paris. Probably Madonna was dissatisfied on the slow progress that Hernandez’s producers were making with her so she returned to USA.

It's one of those things..😂 Deliberately left to history as it is, something that will keep people talking forever. The thing that gets mixed up is the interview with Madonna from the early days where she says she didn't TOUR in France.. She never said she didn't rehearse a dance or that nothing was ever recorded. LoveAge It IS Madonna . This is the PROMO video shot for the song release .. it’s not a video of Patrick’s tour . She went to Paris , Patrick was rehearsing for his tour and she was waiting for the big break! She agreed to dance in the video ( they were having a thing!) so long as she was featured as a solo dancer ...which she was. Some copies of the. Video have the stamp stating it’s the promo, including mine. Patrick gave an interview in 2015 where he was asked to put the matter straight - he was asked did she sing and dance for him? . He got a little confused as to what he was being asked and he went through the whole New York audition thing again and retold how she was singled out to be made into a star lol ! Finally he got back on topic and stated that she never sang with him or for him but she danced with him on that promo because she was bored. They were an item for a few weeks for sure and there are many pics of them together most of which were taken on a short trip to Tunisia? I believe .

Hi @sacredfire You made an intelligent comment here, and therefore i feel a need to reply to it. The ORIGINAL music video to Patrick Hernandez Born to Be Alive can readily be seen on CZcams. It has two "official" videos. THIS clip is not the original video, but is a composite of close-ups from one of the original videos. I am sure that Patrick Hernandez would tell you and everyone the same thing, it is NOT the original video, nor is it designed to be so, not even really a music video as such but simply that, a composite of evidence or what some to take to be total delusions that Madonna is actually dancing here. Thing is, what Madonna ( possibly due to her management decisions at the time when she was building her career and signed big contracts ) never mentioned in early interviews about this period was that, well, she MUST have danced for Patrick Hernandez in order to get the job to go over seas in the first place? Right`` They're not just gonna grab some girl off the street and say - Hey, u wanna come to Europe Paris France and be a dancer`Meaning - Madonna auditioned somewhere at some point and she got the job as a back-up dancer. It was Patrick Hernandez material, his song, his decisions. Whatever they were rehearsing was EVIDENTLY filmed, recorded, put in a tin box and it became a music video. The proof is in the pudding. How hard it is for people to accept this very simple explanation and that Madonna therefore DOES appear in the video, whether she and her management wanted it or not, is very evident. I do find the fight of all these "experts" here blurting out whatever ( meant to be) "insults" style keyboard warrior people whom probably were not even born at the time when this historical music thing took place. reading through the comments, i'm kinda surprised that no one is calling this out that she's not on stage with Patrick. She's not that lead dancer, we know how she dances and how she danced back then - that is not Madonna. And when she comes out and starts performing, it's not to this song and you never see them together in the same shot. I know she had her euro adventure prior to returning to NY and releasing sidewalk talk and everybody but she didn't look like that when she was in Europe.. Are people really fooled by this?!?!?

There are several in print articles of patrick Hernandez saying they/producers took her as a dancer and also wanted to make her a singer too. Madonna has at least 2 interviews saying the same thing. There are pictures w her and Patrick Hernandez when she was on tour with him. Google madonna and Patrick Hernandez. You'll find a bunch of stuff. Research is not your thing!

It IS Madonna . This is the PROMO video shot for the song release .. it’s not a video of Patrick’s tour . She went to Paris , Patrick was rehearsing for his tour and she was waiting for the big break! She agreed to dance in the video ( they were having a thing!) so long as she was featured as a solo dancer ...which she was. Some copies of the. Video have the stamp stating it’s the promo, including mine. Patrick gave an interview in 2015 where he was asked to put the matter straight - he was asked did she sing and dance for him? . He got a little confused as to what he was being asked and he went through the whole New York audition thing again and retold how she was singled out to be made into a star lol ! Finally he got back on topic and stated that she never sang with him or for him but she danced with him on that promo because she was bored. They were an item for a few weeks for sure and there are many pics of them together most of which were taken on a short trip to Tunisia? I believe .

Hi @sacredfire You made an intelligent comment here, and therefore i feel a need to reply to it. The ORIGINAL music video to Patrick Hernandez Born to Be Alive can readily be seen on CZcams. It has two "official" videos. THIS clip is not the original video, but is a composite of close-ups from one of the original videos. I am sure that Patrick Hernandez would tell you and everyone the same thing, it is NOT the original video, nor is it designed to be so, not even really a music video as such but simply that, a composite of evidence or what some to take to be total delusions that Madonna is actually dancing here. Thing is, what Madonna ( possibly due to her management decisions at the time when she was building her career and signed big contracts ) never mentioned in early interviews about this period was that, well, she MUST have danced for Patrick Hernandez in order to get the job to go over seas in the first place? Right`` They're not just gonna grab some girl off the street and say - Hey, u wanna come to Europe Paris France and be a dancer`Meaning - Madonna auditioned somewhere at some point and she got the job as a back-up dancer. It was Patrick Hernandez material, his song, his decisions. Whatever they were rehearsing was EVIDENTLY filmed, recorded, put in a tin box and it became a music video. The proof is in the pudding. How hard it is for people to accept this very simple explanation and that Madonna therefore DOES appear in the video, whether she and her management wanted it or not, is very evident. I do find the fight of all these "experts" here blurting out whatever ( meant to be) "insults" style keyboard warrior people whom probably were not even born at the time when this historical music thing took place. But we all live and learn right?
