- There has been a huge interest in a review of the all new Fisker Ocean One. Being one of the first owners of the car in the world I will be sharing my initial thoughts on the car and compare the car to the 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance

I also think a main reason for choosing the Fisker is to be different that all the others
I was waiting on the sidelines debating between Model Y and Ocean. Ocean got killer looks.. really got tired of Model Y looks. I was afraid of potential software issues with Ocean based on the review I can live with Fisker software (prefer Apple play). I put in my reservation for Ocean extreme after seeing the review. Thank You ..
Me too. The software looks better than the software of the Hyundai Kia and VW ID cars.

I was an early reservation holder for the Fisker Ocean. Looking at my immediate, long-term and travel needs, I went for the Tesla Model S. We still hold positions in Fisker and wish Fisker well, of course. I hope that America EV's and that the government stop giving billions (9.2 bil loan to Ford) to the big 3 and allow other car companies to emerge!

Great review and I like the comparison to the model y since you have both. I'm liking the styling of the Ocean. The lights are really cool. Solar roof and California mode is awesome and unique. The software looks really good just a tad laggy but which should improve over time. And it's not like a phone where your constantly clicking away.

Looks better then Tesla, definitely not ugly like many other EVs. A good design, Magna made quality, software is not great though. This car sells at right price

Thanks for doing this Review! FYI, The Fisker Ocean is 1 inch longer than Model Y and 1 inch Wider than Model Y AND sits taller than Model Y with 22 inch wheels........ Model Y has 30.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and Ocean has 28.7 Cubic feet of Cargo space behind the rear seats. So, since Ocean is a bigger car by dimensions and the cargo space behind the rear seat is only 1.5 cubic feet smaller than Tesla than Ocean must have either more leg room or more shoulder room in either second row or first row. Just saying. Nice job and congrats on the purchase too.
Leg room in the front and backseat are awesome. Since the center console is "floating", rear passenger can fully stretch their legs towards the center of the veichle.😊

Very helpful thanks. As a One owner coming from an Ioniq 5 the software is way better and a big step forward. Your comments on ride are very positive given the 22 inch wheels and was my biggest concern. The only negative for me is the luggage space and interior space versus the HI5, and the slower charging speed but I knew that anyway. 😊

Have you yet had a chance to test the acceleration and handling? How is it compared to the Y Performance? Is the ride so comfortable that it affects handling a lot?

Really good review and thank you for posting. You also forgot one other reason for the Ocean One (and this is subjective) but it's also IMHO one heck of a lot sexier looking than the Tesla! Enjoy your Fisker Ocean!

Great review! Thanks for doing this. Could you also comment further on the driving experience compared to the Tesla? Is torque vectoring working yet? Is it fun to drive? How is the acceleration without using boost?

Thanks! Great to hear an independent review of the Ocean. One thing I wonder is how it looks and how much space there are when the rear seats are folded down (guess they do not fold flat)? How many cm from the rear of the front seats to the trunk. The question is can you sleep in the car and if so does the Ocean have a “camping mode” like Tesla? Would be great if you have time to answer 😊

Great video, much appreciated. I am more interested in the Ocean itself than how it compares against the Model Y. However, if you are going to compare them you need to also look at them as platforms. The Y platform is mature, which means it is not likely to see significant changes moving forward. Many Tesla owners are quick to share how much better their cars have gotten since it was purchased. The Ocean is new, very new, and will be receiving considerable updates. In a year, the Ocean One should be a very different car.
In a year Fisker will be out of business.

Great job on both your videos! Nice to see some solid information and views of this vehicle. As well as your thoughts on it. I am in Canada and I've only seen static displays and not the final products nor any driving, so I am very pleased to see the ride quality is there! Congrats and I hope to see one in Canada soon!
I'm curious whether you have the opportunity to park in the sun, and see if the solar roof is working (or if it shows that it's working in the infotainment system)? Will it also trickle-charge the battery from the roof while driving, or only parked?

Definitely like the aesthetics of the Fisker much more than model Y, which kind of looks like an older folks car to me. Also, 100lbs of recycled materials!

Congratulations and thank you for sharing. Trying to take advantage of the upgrade from Ultra to Extreme. I agree Tesla software is more mature, but Fisker will get there. Glad to hear the Ocean has a tight turning radius. I also like the way it recognizes and shows you the traffic lights 🚦 with real-time status! Does it have a socket to power things? Tesla doesn’t have that.
In the cargo room there is 220V socket in EU, and 110V socket in US.

Can you give some information about the actual charging speed on HPC chargers? Have you tried that?
Thanks for taking the time to post a review. What range are you getting consistently from the Ocean on a single charge? How fast does it deplete from 100% to 80%? Can three forward facing car seats fit in the second row?

Can’t be worse.
Very cool design. The UI needs some polish but that can mature in time. I like the higher stance than the Y, which is far more car like to me. I drive a Y now but I am brand agnostic and just enjoy seeing new EV options on the road.
Another reason to buy fisker….henrik fisker vs elon musk, professional vs troll.
Love the software design, text and icons on the screen kind of remind me of windows phone, bold and easy on the eyes.

Hi, i already tested that with my neighbour who is higher than your kids. He could easily sit begind me who had installed the frontseat to fit my height (6,2)
Thanks for the review, Daniel. I have not driven the ocean, but I'm sure the comfort of the suspension is better than the Model Y or Model 3 since I could not live with their super hard springs. Maybe I'm spoiled but it should be possible for Tesla to improve the comfort or offer alternative springs.

How is the interior seat quality and comfort? Are the seats premium? Are you happy with black or wish for sea salt?
Seats are in my opinion premium and comparable with the ones in the Model Y. You also sit better in this One.
So Fisker Ocean is all around a better vehicle unless you need a bunch of space. Noyce!!!!
Id love to kniw how the stereo sounds! It was really good in my Y but im hoping this is comparable to the x sound system, which is incredible
I think it’s fair to say that if you want the 707km range then you buy the fisher ocean extreme for approx 610.000 dkk, so approx 150.000 dkk more than the Tesla model y performance. The ultra has 610km of range so still +20% more than model Y performance for the same price (though less some basic features such as adaptive cruise control). However, it would be interesting to know how the consumption data compares as the sizes are rather similar, and as a larger battery pack almost always will provide more range 😊
Keep in mind that the Ultra has not been WLTP testet. My estimate is that the ULTRA will get close to the 700KM as well since it has the same battery package and motors as the One edition. Only difference is torque vectoring which might make a smal difference.

I've yet to get a electrical car - put in my order 3th April. So still a long wait time i believe.
What I notice, is that the GPS view and the speed of finding Fields seems fairly slow. How is that compared to a Tesla?
Also another huge benefit, which is the main reason why i would get this car is the V2H feature, no Tesla can do that.
One last thing, Tires - can you give all the needed info for the size and such, so that we can look at winter tires outside the insanely pricy winter tires Fisker sells =)
Keep in mind that he was in a basement so it's always slower then.

I wished you cleaned your camera lens. It would help a ton in that low light environment and prevent that foggy look that many of us that wear glasses sometimes deal with, and we don’t want to deal with it twice😂. You could just wipe with your shirt until streaks are not visible for a phone camera. If you happen to read this please consider this next time. Congrats on your new car. 😊

I think that voice command to navigation will come soon via update so you can just say the address to the navigation system
Does the backseat fold down flat? To fit furniture and long things? Is there a spare tire under the trunk floor?

Hi Daniel, thank you for your review! What do you think of the seats? Do you wish they had a lumbar adjustment or do you feel they are sufficiently comfortable without it?
Can you comment on the regenerative braking, please? I had to pass on the Tesla Model Y because I found the regen braking too obtrusive even at it's lowest setting. In my Polestar 2 I turned off regen braking completely and in my Tesla Model X the lowest setting is not too bad so I can live with it. I am on the reservation list for the Ocean, but my biggest concern is the regen braking and if the low setting is not too noticeable.
The regnertive breaking can be adjusted to the lowest level which is very gentle. I would not worry about that.

Hey, you are right. The parking garages in Europe are made with some massive, very thick concrete and metal. Every GPS system would have trouble finding and receiving a signal.
Hi, thanks for this first user video of the Fisker Ocean. Do you have the measurements of the trunk? I mean not the volume (you already gave it) but the measurements of the length (till the back of the rear seats) and the width in cm ? That is easier to compare with other cars and to see what kind of object can we load without unfolding the rear seats, such as : Size of luggages, baby trolley, golf bag…) thanks in advance.
You appear to be the first and currently only socially active, “normal” recipient of the Fisker Ocean. I know you aren’t a car reviewer, but anything you can do to give us waiting a look at California mode working, those internal door handles, and some more thoughts about performance and driving when you have time would be awesome. And consider turning monetisation on on these videos…you are likely to get a LOT of views if you make any more.
