    If this tractor had the capability of using a rear tiller attachment instead of the front tiller attachment this would be the perfect tractor. Going in reverse to use the tiller attachment seems like it would be cumbersome. Love all of the videos and hopefully one day I'll be able to afford one with all the attachments. As for now I'll be stuck with a 1949 Ferguson 20 that my grandfather had.

    Love how it's going thru the ground with ease.

    I have to tell you, this would be the dream job to just do new renovations on new landscapes. Throw in a few driveway renovations and I would be in heaven with a Ventrac.

    You forgot your grapple? :)
    Could you have run the landscape rake on the rear?

      Running the landscape rake on the rear is a great option and super efficient. We will definitely bring the grapple along next time!

    What attachment is best for renovating a lawn and removing turf so it is bare dirt like this? For example, if I cut the lawn down to 1" and sprayed it with roundup, what attachment will best break up and remove the dead layer of turf and thatch?

  • @arlisspropertyservicesllc5943

    Great video! How does the new power rake work for precision grading? The old rake can be adjusted, too only do 1/8” at a time. Is there any fine tuning with the hydraulic system now, or is it just up and down?

    • @aFleaByte
      @aFleaByte Před 2 lety +2

      I have the new Power Rake for my 4520Z. The height is adjusted with the extra lever near the SDLA. Push the button and you can lift and lower it on the fly without getting off the tractor. Once you make a few passes you get a good feel of the depth its actually cutting at. I use it sometimes if I take just a bit to big of a bite on deep passes to free up the machine.

    • @arlisspropertyservicesllc5943
      @arlisspropertyservicesllc5943 Před 2 lety +3

      @@aFleaByte that’s my point, is there any way to Fine tune the depth? If I need to get precise grades, say 3/4” or whatever number, I can crank that in. I was curious if the new rake had that ability, or if the operator just guessed at their depth.

    • @aFleaByte
      @aFleaByte Před 2 lety +2

      @@arlisspropertyservicesllc5943 On the right side there is a gauge showing the depth reference. There is an arm that sweeps up and down depending on the cylinder extension. There isnt a tape measure like on the previous model.

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 2 lety +4

      Technically the system is infinitely adjustable within the range because it's hydraulic. There are no hard stops like the previous rake where you could only adjust a full turn at a time.

      @arlisspropertyservicesllc5943 Před 2 lety +2

      @@ventrac Ok. I like the idea of staying in the seat, however having the drum exactly where I need it, pass after pass is more important. Perhaps you could incorporate a 1/4” valve, where it adjusts 1/4 at a time, and having a detent setting to go full up or down for loading, transporting etc.

    Do you need the foot pedal attachment for the power bucket or versa loader? Is it necessary to get the job done easier with both?

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 2 lety

      It's nice to have the foot pedal with the loader so that you have an extra hand free for the loader controls... but it's not totally necessary. For the power bucket, it doesn't really make a difference.
