During a recent interview for an internal promotion, we discussed leadership style. He then asked me what I felt his leadership style was. After watching this video, I don’t think I said the best style for him, but maybe the second best. This was very helpful. Thank you for all of your career advice!
You're welcome, Janet! Glad it was helpful. -CC
I feel exceptional leaders exhibit a style that may be situational. They may have their primary style, but when it's time to be stern, they are stern. When its time to build people up, they do their best to be patient and help with development. so on and so forth.
I found your presentation to be interesting, informative and concise, thanks.
Thank you. I watched and clarified.

nice content sis
What's Jenn's full name I cant find her on LinkedIn, using these incredibly helpful breakdown of the different management styles as a source for my university assignment and I'd appreciate the swift response as my deadline is soon!
I think these are more context-related approaches than they are management styles. I would argue if you don't understand when it is most beneficial to receive input from your team or others in the organization and use autocratic leadership (the least effective approach in the long term, really) all the time, you are simply a bad manager. Same could be said for using other approaches when they aren't appropriate. It's the old "we don't always need hammers" cliche. Case in point, laissez-faire included "take control is necessary" as a requirement. None of these should your "management-style", although perhaps someone could ask you what your preference or default is, but without a context, the question is relatively meaningless. Good video though.
what is the difference between autocratic and bureaucratic leadership style? They sound very similar
