Lego 2023 TIE Bomber ALTERNATE BUILD! - TIE Advanced (No extra pieces!)

- After doing some mods to the new Lego Star Wars TIE Bomber set, I thought I'd take a shot at making it into Darth Vader's TIE Advanced! This alternate build doesn't require any extra pieces, so as long as you have the set, you can make it! :)

Just to clarify the round tile with a single stud at the top is a substitution for the two 1x2 semicircle tiles with a stud hole on top! Really sorry for that goof :DD
Built this today after building the TIE Bomber yesterday. There are some steps that require the removal of previous steps in order to put the pieces on, the cockpit snaps off easily from underneath, a few pieces did have to be swapped with others found in the set, the top doesn't securely attach with Vader in the cockpit even when leaned back. Design looks great for display even with a few kinks

Out of the 4 criticisms listed in JuiceGodAlpha's comment, I found only 2 of them true in my case. The cockpit assembly DOES fall off rather easily, and I did have to backtrack on a couple of steps (56, 85, 86, 87 especially). I did not have to swap or substitute any parts (unless we're talking about the very top circle bit, but you warned us of that in your pinned comment) and I'm able to get Vader in there without dislodging the top. You have to remove the cockpit face and the roof, put him in, then lean him back (the Dark Lord of the Sith deserves to relax) - then reassemble the roof and the cockpit face, and it all fits just fine. It's one of my favorite SW vehicles ever and I practically got the set just to rebuild it into a shuttle but it turns out I suck at building spaceships.
It looks perfect. As if it were a 4+ set. But that's not the point. It's creative, easy yet advanced. This is the definition of using the combination of imagination, hands, mind, semi skill, and bricks in a over perfect combination. Top performance truly.
When the tie fighter (75300) retire i will surely buy more of these to build other tie fighter versions...

I got an extra fighter and bomber to make an interceptor and advanced after I saw the awful interceptor/fang money grab. This might have been one of my favorite builds ever. Some instructions could be clearer. Some pieces are flimsy (it’s an alternate build). It looks amazing and I love it.
Hi, wonderful build, I love the tie vadera, and it is a valid alternative to the original release without spending lots of money. I would like to know if it is possible to blend together the tie bomber and the tie fighter (75347+75300) to make a much more accurate build. Thank you again for this model.
The bits that connect the wings to the cockpit keep falling off and step 86 required disassembly to get the curved tiles on other then that its a fantastic model and i enjoyed building it.

Just bought two of these and an imperial shuttle off of marketplace for $50, no figs. One tie was complete, the other was partial. Might be able to make this! Need a few replacement pieces on one wing though, which I may have in my box of pieces.

Thank you so much for this video and especially the step-by-step instructions! I ordered this set JUST to build your version. I honestly think LEGO intended for people to do this, and that's why they included a Vader figure - but I'm so glad I didn't have to work it out for myself! :) I won't receive my kit for another week, but I will try to post an edit when I get it done. @@TheBrixHub OK, got it built! A couple of steps were physically impossible, but a little backtracking / disassembly made it all work. Step #96 REALLY needs to be expanded into more steps, as some of the pieces are not visible in the image - I had to put it together as best I could from what I could see, then figure out where the remaining pieces went by process of elimination, and then tear it apart and start over. Now that it's done, however, it was WELL worth those small hassles. I love it! You're a LEGO genius.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but it seems the 4 side panels can't fold in nearly as far as they should, because the studs from the 6x6 plate w/ 5 holes hit the back of the 4x12 plate.
I had the same problem, but found a solution
@@CastorTroy666 I built the side panels as in the original and substituted 2 tan plates for the light bluish gray plates that would've been used, then mostly hid those in several ways, though not entirely.

Actually, they DO fold the right amount... but you have to give them a little encouragement. It may feel wrong to force it, but just keep folding 'em. You will feel / hear two separate little "pops" as the tops of the studs scoot over the rail of the next piece, and then it will look just right! Maybe give it a little squeeze from the sides afterward just to make sure nothing is loose.
@@bdo7765 just tested this. It results in the black 2x1s on the center panels pulling out ever so slightly. If I then squeeze them back into full engagement with the gray panel underneath, the angled panel pops back out to not-angled-enough.
I just got the original set and it's amazing.... Looks like I have to buy another to build this alternative build. Nice

Alguém conseguiu adaptar o acesso a cabine, fazendo com que abrisse a cabine? Não gostei dessa maneira de ter que tirar a peça pra poder colocar o Vader. Mas o MOC ficou muito show.
Step 96 is making no sense no matter which way i put it

96 is you leave the wings like the original build

I'm guessing you also had to use the pieces from the Imperial Gonk Droid and that ammunition cart in order to build the TIE Advanced, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
