Since 1984, Chrysler has sold over 15 million minivans, and they hope to sell some more with this refreshed 2021 Pacifica!

I have worked at Windsor Assembly Plant for 25 years, and this is the best minivan we have ever made. Im not happy with the battery range on the hybrid but the regular Pacifica is a winner and nice to drive, and has all the bells and whistles available.
Agreed that battery range is pretty trash but as an overall package this thing is pretty damn sweet. Should sell well this year
Do you know if the AWD version has a higher towing capacity than the previous version FWD?
It is a nice looking vehicle inside and out. My only concern is the transmission and electrical components holding up to longevity. So what kind of transmission is it? I know it's a 9 speed, but what's the actual name/model of the transmission? And is the trans for the Pacifica also manufactured in Windsor??
I would be happy with the range as I normally drive less than 30 miles per day, but I wouldn't buy the hybrid just for the sheer fact that I'd lose the Stow & Go middle seats. That, and AWD are the two main reasons for buying this van.
@@smoosangscleanliving4428 I hope so, van manufacturers really need to increase the towing capacity on their vans entering a new decade. Vans in the 90s with half the horsepower and torque could tow as much as the ones on sale now, which makes no sense to me. Increasing the towing capacity to 5,000 pounds in addition to AWD would effectively invalidate nearly any 3 row crossover.
love it, makes me seriously think about replacing my grand caravan R/T. I was never a mini van guy till I got one, (it was a first gen that was a co-workers grand parents, they bought it new in 87, ) I bought it in 2006 with only 35,000 original miles for only $250, (it needed tires and a battery) from sitting for several yrs. we drove it to 100,000, gave it to my sister-in-law, who drove it for yrs, we replaced it with a 99 grand caravan, it was trouble free all the way to 258,000 miles!! even the a/c still worked, traded that one in on the grand caravan R/T, and now it has 110,000 trouble free miles, only had to replace battery front brakes and the original set of tires!!!!!!!
In Sept. 2016, I traded my 2012 Grand Caravan R/T for a 2017 Pacifica Limited and it was worth it. The Pacifica is SO much better.
Love my 2015 Grand Caravan. 5 years later no big issues. The only issue was a window regulator in the drivers door. I do like the looks of the Pacifica and when I’m ready I’ll trade up to the new Pacifica, plus the Pacifica looks a whole lot better then the Honda or Toyota minivans.
All my life I hated minivans, I was always a suv/pickup kinda guy, until covid hit and ruins our vacation plans couldn’t leave the country, wifey wanted to do a road trip, picked up a used town and country 2013, converted it into a camper and drove from montreal to Bruce peninsula, and sandbanks Ontario and camped in the van, completely changed my opinion, minivan is by farrrr the best vehicle you can invest in, and now they made it all wheel drive??? PPPPFFFFFFF game changer!
I'm a single guy, with no children and I leased the 2018 Pacifica Limited. Had never owned a van, yet alone a minivan. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Can't wait to get the new one with AWD.
Single guy with no children? Party van?
FCA is really killing it with the options for all types of budgets and tastes.
NismoKits still unreliable
Carson D no they are not. They are actually getting worse and worse. I don’t care what consumer reports have to say.
@@cn2673 It's true, Chrysler is super reliable. I haven't had one that had issues, people I know that had a GM or a Ford product have had big problems. I only buy Chrysler's or Hyundai/Kia.
Mike Perez My old Ford Focus had problems, my 2013 Chrysler town and country is at 180,000 miles!!
@@aimxdy8680 Chrysler is reliable, see!
I like seeing Chrysler bringing this vehicle into the 21st century. LED headlights across the board and updates to the interior were needed. Nice van, I would buy one.
This car makes me want to become a soccer mom
Ha ha, but seriously, some people besides moms need a maximum payload type vehicle like this.
Stephen Powdexter, but like minivans, aren’t popular anymore like they used to be in the 90s and early 2000s! Nowadays, almost everyone, including parents, buys SUVs or sedans.
Lol if you buy this, the only thing you will want to do is get rid of it because it breaks down every week!
Andy's Shop it doesn’t break down every week
Andrew M I own a Chrysler town and country, its at 180,000 miles and with proper maintenance they can be reliable!!
This is the reason why i'm waiting on the all new redesign Charger 👍👍
Not gonna lie, I loved the Toyota Sienna look but dang, this one looks so much better. Props to Chrysler for that one.
We've been pretty set on a '21 Sienna for a little while - as my 2004 has 245K miles and we love it... But I think I'll have to go see this Pacifica in person!! (Sienna - like the non-plug in hybrid, as it can still tow, hate the loss of cargo space since the 2nd row seats don't come out; Pacifica - I like the styling, I'm going to get the gas engine if I get it so it can tow my small camper; I love the stow and go seats!) Question - are the stow and go seats really less comfortable than the 2nd row in other vans?
They should redesign the Dodge Journey And call it a Chrysler Journey so Chrysler has more Vehicles in their lineup.
The Journey name itself has a bad reputation. I doubt that the Journey nameplate will continue because FCA wants you to forget the horrible reputation that the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Journey had.
I love the sound system in the journey
@@atx-cvpi_99 journey is pretty good value with the v6 but this year's version only has the 4 cylinder.
I'm a single dude and I want this minivan xD LOL
Women that would want to settle down will be flocking to you
The fam cam is meant for parents to keep an eye on their kids. Honda has had a similar feature in the current gen odyssey since 2018.
people say that minivans are ugly and lame, but you cant deny that theyre popular. The numbers dont lie.
I have a 2018 Pacifica Limited which I bought new. Nothing about the 2021 is that much better than what I have to tempt me to upgrade!
I'll probably trade my 2015 Town & Country on a 2021 Pacifica AWD... Love the versatility of these vans...
I have been leary about buying a Pacifica because of its reliability ratings, especially the transmission and electrical problems. I was hoping you would address any upgrades/fixes so its reliability rating is improved.
3:48 I don't know why I find it so funny they had to put an emergency glow latch for the floor compartment as if someone's shoving a baby in there
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 didn’t even notice that until now
when I was younger I useto hide in the stow n go of our old dodge grand caravan and scare my parents, ahh good times
😂😂😂😂
@@brendanfraser9191 Haha, yeah right? Lol. Kids, don't try that at home.
Am i the only single guy who lowkey wants one
Andrew White no, me too
You think if the 200 was kept around it would have had a redesign similar to the Pacifica. And the Dart looking more truly like a baby charger with a 3.6 AWD option.
Maybe.
I like your thinking, also I talked to a vw salesmen who said they are selling more jettas because less options now. So I think they should have just stuck it out, same with the fiat 500. But usually if you keep it fresh people will buy it. At the end of the day factory and store keeps the company running.
Was actually considering another van, they just sealed it with the all wheel drive, future owner.
Make no mistake, this thing looks pretty but it wont last.
Andys shop. How do you know it won't last? Where's your proof?
@@chriskrueger8225 likely because the next-generation Toyota Sienna and the upcoming next-generation Kia Sedona will offer way more than what the Pacifica offers.
I think they did a good job with this refresh.
Dang, not bad for a minivan.
I’d seriously rock one they look sweet and not minivan like at all
@@MarspeedCars what about the Touring L Plus trim? You left that one out, that trim comes standard with rear seat entertainment & other standard futures Or it's optional on Touring L for the refreshed model?
Looks great. I have been driving Chrysler Voyager for 15 years, different versions. Unfortunately the Pacifica is no longer available in Europe. Any hints if this policy is going to change?
I'm a little bit worried about that 9-speed automatic transmission. I mean, is Chrysler truly capable of pulling off all those gear shifts when Toyota and Honda have recently produced "temperamental" 9-speed transmissions that many customers have complaints about?? My 2015 Grand Caravan is awesome. I love it. It has nearly 300,000KM's with the 3.6 Pentastar - never any engine or transmission issues and my Caravan has a 6-speed automatic and it has proven to be more than adequate and 100% reliable! So I dunno you guys.... I believe what I see. I believe in facts, and the fact of the matter here is: I'm going to stay away from this Pacifica for at least 3 years until I see that the engine and electrical components PROVE to hold up to wear and tear and longevity!
I feel you on this, the engine should be good but they already screwed up the 9 speed with the 200 so we’ll have to wait and see what happens here. I’m sure they’ll figure it out but who really knows with FCA lol
Yeah I would also be leery of the ZF 9 speed, even Honda has been having issues with that transmission. That being said, haven't heard any problems lately with it, so I'm assuming the 9 speeds have been revised or something.
@@MarspeedCars I'm just not a fan of "new technology." Look at the 3.6 Pentastar, for example. Before 2012, they were very troublesome with their notorious "ticking" noises and premature wear. But once Chrysler upgraded their cam shaft and revised the engine, they are much better. So with this 9 speed transmission, my gut is telling me to wait for at least 2 years, and let the customer reviews speak for themselves.
@@zephyr332 - The 9 speed has been out for 6-7 years now. The latest software has removed most of the bugs and complaints from previous years.
Sweet. My lease on the wife’s is up in jan 2021. Guess what I am getting. Great video and thanks for sharing.
2021 Pacifica
Now imagine an SUV Chrysler !!! With this tech and luxury. And it wold be easy since they can make it outta the Durango
Salam Gorou I’m sure it’s coming
Ervin0310 Hopefuly
Salam Gorou they don’t really have a choice unless they’re only going to sell a minivan lol. SUV’s are money right now and they have plenty of Jeep platforms to use 🤷🏾♂️
Ervin0310 I agree they have to expand ans redesign the 300 & the srt back
I would take this (with AWD) over an SUV anyday. Way more practical, sliding doors, more storage, Stow & Go with a flat floor, better ride, quieter, etc. It looks great now too.
The new facelift and all the new features bring the Pacifica into the modern era. Now we just need a new 2021 Chrysler 300 🤔
That is a gorgeous van. I love the pinnacle.
Exactly imagine how a 300 would look or a all new vehicle entirely
That isn’t a crossover
🤞
Allpar had renderings of a 300 with this look. To check it out.

I’m looking for a minivan to convert to a cross country camper and this one is perfect!
All in all I thought you covered a lot of ground very well. Thanks for this peak ahead. Even though I'd really like update my 2013 T&C to AWD (Minnesnowta is home) I'd need to know more before placing an order.
I have a 2017 Pacifica and its great !The new up dates are very nice hope it helps to save Chrysler
Best minivan on the planet
I drove three different town n country so I love Chrysler products. Looking forward to buy one in December 2020. Luv all the features an the style of this Pacifica as this will probably be the last truck I will purchase. 😃
That Pinnacle trim woud make it the coolest work van for any servicing and light installation of any kind! ;)
We want the Chrysler Aspen come back
So do I that would be awesome and Chrysler could use a big SUV in the lineup now
Marspeed it would compete against the Denali and the Escalade
Would work on the chassis of the new Grand Wagoneer.
Doc's Stim Pistol it should be based on the Durango
I also want the Aspen back
The Benz of vans
Haha, very funny.
Never thought I’d say this but I wouldn’t mine this as my daily😂 but I’d still buy a Redeye before it😂
I feel like this is what the 200 would’ve looked like refreshed too ☹️ if they wouldn’t have fucked it up lol. This is a very nice van tho.
Chrystler outdone themselves this time,im very interested in the pinnacle version
Really disappointed we didn't see the Widebody Hellcat Pacifica. Maybe next year
Looks really nice. Hope it does well.
I need to purchase a minivan immediately, but I will definitely wait for this one.
I normally hate the minivan no matter the brand....BUT!!! I must say, me and Brian O’Conner jus may be van mates soon!!....lol
The bestselling minivan in sales numbers (private + fleet) is still the Dodge Grand Caravan, especially with the discounts. Now that the Pacifica lower end models are re-named to Voyager, and that they're (FINALLY) stopping production of the GC in May of this year, this new style won't have to compete with it's old-school-style cousin anymore.
Yeah I agree sales here should really take off. The Voyager was a great idea and now this minivan is a nice package
Shouldn't be too hard for FCA to add rear EL motor for hybrid version similar to Toyota hybrid AWD-i.
I have feeling the upcoming Sienna with hybrid power-train might have AWD-i...I think
Yes, it is an available option... on all trims I think.
I don't find the 2nd row family cam creepy, if you have an infant, its more of re-assurance, would work way better than the crappy mirrors, I think most parents would appreciate this.
The van came does not seem creepy. It sounds really nice to keep your eyes on your kids.
Put a stick on the all wheel drive model and they get my money. Damm, how much fun would that be!!
Imma need this in a 3.6L Twinturbo V6😂
All in All I hope that Chrysler quality is good for 10 years. Yes. 10 years of quality would something that people would talk about when looking to buy a new vehicle.
Minivans are just too damn practical. At least this one looks better than average and geeking out on all the safety features.
Not really digging the new front end. I like it has awd, interior is nice, wish it was awd hybrid.
awd and stowaway seats. nice. redesign. very nice. seriously considering this.
One, or Two of those Trim levels neesd a HEMI in them. The HECK with a V6!
Paxton Gay I don’t think it would fit lol
Bloody Psycho it wont pacficias engine bay is to small but itd be insane if they ever did something like that
Yeah would be cool and they might sell a few but just not feasible at this point, too many other options if you want a hemi right now
Marspeed lol tell that to the durango, trackhawk, 300, hellcat, scatpack, 5.7s, chargers 😂 I think fiat don’t care about making sense bo more
it would be nice if Ripp Superchargers will eventually develop a supercharger for it.
Amazing...still waiting for mine from service due to transmission issue 🤦♂️
Ford Taurus Minivan
So you gotta pay more money for a center console that you used to get in the older models (size wise)
Am I the only one who thinks that big upright flashy grill is a huge step backwards in aesthetics?
I LOVE IT! Not sure if they going to keep building sport cars and conv or sedans or suv in the future!
I love it. Put a hemi in it lol
I wish dodge remakes the grand caravan 🙁
But bring back the awd is a plus because the only awd is Toyota sienna
I love Jeeps but man did this think had me looking and I want U connect 5!
This looks so much better than my 03 dodge grand caravan, I so want a new Chrysler Pacifica, definitely my dream minivan and Chrysler has come a long way. I only wish that the new Pacifica had more horsepower, that's the only downside of the new Pacifica.
I like this new Pacifica. They should base the next generation grand caravan on this vehicle. It would look really cool and aggressive for a van.
"Fam Cam" isn't weird or creepy, it's a must for parents.
im driving 2017 love it , planing to take out the pinnacle love that new look
Amazingly awesome indeed! What a wonder of the mini van's family,!!!
Just in time to upgrade from our "value package" Grand Caravan!!!
I agree. Don’t like minivans. But if I had to get one, it would probably be this
Vans Roc🤘🏾now give me a RIPP supercharger 400+hp and awd ......mannnn when this baby hits 88mph you’re going to see some serious Shi!!
I'm not a minivan guy either, but thats really nice and is sporty for a van. LOL the way they do things, maybe it will be next to get the supercharged 6.2 power plant 🤣
Chrysler: oh shit we gotta make a normal car too!
Hope they figured out all the kinks with the hybrid system. My 2019 PacHy spent 83 days in the shop after 3 months of ownership and required a new battery pack which they couldn't acquire. I found many other owners who had the same issue. I was extremely unhappy with the vehicle (it also went totally dead and I had to pay out of pocket to tow it 45 miles to the dealership - FCA roadside came and left when they couldn't figure it out). Luckily, my four children (all in car and booster seats) weren't with me. FCA had the worst customer support, treated me terribly and seemingly had no idea what was wrong with the vehicle. Approach with major caution.
Are there kayakers out there ??? It looks like since the back end is more vertical, it would be easier to load/unload a kayak, easier to reach.. than the vans that curve way out. And I think it's about an inch shorter than others... Can anyone confirm this for me? And nice that it has standard roof rails.
If it’s true then I’m excited since I work for a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealership
Steve Bryan Games yep it’ll keep you busy!
Makes me want to trade my 18 Pacifica. New one looks like a Lincoln
I don't have kids, but I still want it
I don't have kids either but have owned 2 full sized vans and 2 minivans. They are super practical for hauling cargo, furniture, people, camping, etc. Can't wait to get one of these with AWD now.
Fantastic review. I want one.
Looks great inside and out
I wish it had a column mounted shifter!
Jonah Mammon
I mean it’s kind of sad how they are no longer offered.
cool feature, the doors are lightweight aluminum. For some reason that makes me want to buy it, lol
Legend has it if u comment first marspeed will respond
Legend is true
Hopefully it holds up better than a Town & Country.
FamCam is creepy and odd? I think it's a brilliant feature. Not having to turn around and seeing what the kids are doing makes driving much safer. You can keep an eye on a newborn as well. I hope they expand on the feature with more cameras and mics.
same, man... not a van guy but this thing is cool!
Does anyone know if the AWD version comes in 8 Passenger variant? The Toyota Sienna AWD only comes in 7 and I am really interested in 8 passenger AWD Mini-Van.
Cant wait to order these for the dealership
Fathom Blue - is AWESOME.
I like it so much I am buying one of the pinnacle model
diesel needed if fca wants to be competitive. and awd for all versions.
I love my 2017. TouringL t
I have owned a mini van in the past (Pontiac Transport) and this is very cool! But not looking for another MV.
This new Pacifica is pimp. Just needs a HEMI lol
It’s depressing to hear that 2021 Pacifica Hybrid models won’t get AWD ;-;
Isn't the color Ceramic Grey the current Chrysler equivalent of Dodge's Destroyer Gray? I thought that 2019 was the last year for that color, to be replaced by Smoke Show for Dodge in late 2020. And from what I've read, Smoke Show is very similar but is not the same as DG. I have a leased 2018 Challenger in DG and love it, and will probably buy it out this year since they dropped the color. Anyone have any clarification on this?
We love vans,8 so far can’t pick a colour,,l,o,l,,,so useful,,,,
I would have to research my own pictures to see side-by-side with the older model to evaluate the changes - although I can clearly see the front-end change.
This top model has to be $50,000 plus. Unclear when this launches.
If this is not in production yet I wonder how they get a working mockup on the showroom floor.
What spare tire options are available?
Isn’t stow n go only offered by Chrysler lmao? The only minivan to have stow and go with awd... congrats Chrysler, you just... Chrysler...
My Toyota has the same type of seats , the Toyota transmission will last 2 or 3 times as long as the Chrysler's
@@Mr.Torres831 the 2017 Pacifica had an issue with the transmission shifting hard and needing repairs within 50,000k
