Espen Lind is a brilliant example of how much talent we have in music besides black metal wich every tourist i have met,every human i have talked with online combines with Norway,like its the only music we produce. This is far from the truth,we have some amazing rappers,amazing pop/electonica/dance artists,singer songwriters,plenty of glamrock artists,the list is endless. The thing is,ever since A-ha in the mid-80s Norway seems to have been under a curse in regards to popular music making it international. What the reasons are is still a huge mystery for Norwegians,it has even been discussed on television amongst several "music knowers",but noone has the actual answers. But after feedback from people that found other Norwegian artists they love and wanted to stay updated on,they all described to me that they found little to no updates,and it was even extremely difficult finding albums to purchase or merchandise. So i think there is a general lousy management our artists are put under,videos on youtube are regional blocked from countries they dream of having a breakthrough in,same with Spotify. Its a bad sign,when songs needs to be non restricted for the songs to reach as many potential future customers as possible. Espen was a guy that went over to the US back in the day,to actually try to have that breakthrough over there. He and Baywatch star Angelica Bridges fell in love and did the music video for When Susannah Cries together,he proceeded to do several music videos over there,but it just didnt work out for him. Had he been born in US or Canada,im sure he would have been a well established legend today,as he has soo many good songs under his belt today. Strange how location still has an impact on music artists. (me personally,i go all in even if the artist lives on a remote island with just 1-200 people in total living there) I have made soo many friends across of US,Canada and other countries,even way down in South Africa,aware of several of our massive talents,and they absolutely love everyone of them. To prove my point,this young man comes from almost the same area as Espen Lind originally,only Ruben originates from a small village area with barely 2-300 citizens. Give this vocal masterpiece of his a try: Ruben - So High (visual) He is said to be our next big solo male artist,still in his 20s.
